Scholarships

The Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation annually awards scholarships to students planning to pursue careers in agriculture and to adults seeking continuing education in agriculture-related studies. To support the future of agriculture throughout Ohio, each county has a scholarship fund to allot to its local students. Other scholarships focus on specific issues such as women’s leadership in agriculture, livestock and crop sciences at the Agricultural Technical Institute, sheep production and management, and more.

Ohio Farm Bureau Ambassadors Scholarship

The Ohio Farm Bureau Ambassadors Scholarship is the foundation’s premier scholarship, honoring students who excel academically, serve their communities, and pursue careers that advance Ohio agriculture.

It supports students who embody hard work, perseverance, and stewardship; leaders who meet challenges, strengthen agricultural communities, and pay forward opportunities to sustain and grow Ohio agriculture. Recipients represent the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation’s values as ambassadors, upholding integrity, dedication, and a commitment to lasting impact.

The Ohio Farm Bureau Ambassadors Scholarship provides one (1) renewable $10,000 scholarship to a deserving student seeking a degree in agriculture or an agriculture-related field. Each scholarship is renewable for up to three years for a total of up to $40,000 per student.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools to implement the PLTW Engineering program for the 2025-2026 academic year and beyond. Eligible institutions include public, private, and charter schools located in the US. Grant recipients will receive funding to cover participation fees and training costs. Total funding amounts to $16,000, distributed over three years. Schools are encouraged to create pathways for students in engineering through this initiative.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) offers grants for schools to implement the PLTW Computer Science program from 2025 to 2028. Schools must provide at least one PLTW course in the first year and two courses in the second year. The total grant is $14,000, covering participation fees and training costs. Eligible institutions include public, private, and charter schools located in the U.S., with special encouragement for those serving low-income or minority-majority populations.

The Cribs for Kids Program, funded by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth, aims to enhance safe sleep practices among caregivers in Ohio. By distributing Safe Sleep Kits and providing education, the program seeks to prevent infant deaths associated with unsafe sleep environments. With Ohio's infant mortality rate exceeding state targets, this initiative addresses critical health disparities. The program focuses on equipping vulnerable caregivers with essential resources and knowledge to ensure safer sleep for infants, ultimately improving health outcomes across the state.

Save Our Sight (SV27) Continuation Solicitation

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH), Bureau of Child and Family Health announces the availability of grant funds.

Number of Grants and Funds Available

State funds for the Save Our Sight Program are generated by donations. Motor vehicle owners in Ohio are asked to donate to the Save Our Sight Fund when they register their vehicles and/or renew license plates. This program is completely funded by the Save Our Sight Fund (State funds). Only the previously awarded applicant during the competitive application may apply for continuation funding for the awarded component.

No grant award will be issued for less than $30,000. The minimum amount is exclusive of any required matching amounts and represents only ODH funds granted. Applications submitted for less than the minimum amount will not be considered for review.

Stark Community Foundation is one of the area’s major sources of college scholarship support— thanks to the generosity of caring individuals, families and businesses that have created scholarship funds.

The Foundation currently manages more than 100 scholarship funds that support hundreds of deserving students each year from Stark and Carroll counties. In 2025, more than $1,000,000 was awarded to local students to help them achieve their educational dreams.

The John Henry and Nancy May Bell Allensworth Scholarship Fund

The John Henry and Nancy May Bell Allensworth Scholarship Fund assists graduates and seniors of Carrollton or Edison High School in Carroll or Jefferson Counties. Must attend a public college or university which is part of the University System of Ohio.

The Delta Dental Foundation offers Community Mini-Grants of up to $10,000 for organizations in Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana that promote oral health initiatives. This program supports local nonprofits engaged in activities that enhance access to care, advocacy, education, and workforce development. Grants are evaluated based on their alignment with strategic aims and the potential impact on community health. Certain exclusions apply, including projects for building construction or political activities.

The AmeriHealth Caritas Foundation Grant aims to prevent and mitigate adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) to promote healthier outcomes for children. With a focus on empowering families, healing behaviors, and access to healthcare, the foundation supports nonprofit organizations that provide comprehensive care and resources. Grants range from $100,000 to $250,000, totaling up to $1.945 million for project-specific initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits operating in states where AmeriHealth Caritas Medicaid markets exist.

Erwin & Katherine Geis Scholarship Fund

Established by the Geis family to provide scholarships for Geis Companies employees and their children, as well as the children of the company's subcontractors and vendors. Wild Eagle and Metropolitan at The 9 employees and their children are also eligible.

• $5,000 per year each for seven college students (up to $5,000/$2,000 based on financial need); $2,000 per year each for two private or tuition-based high school students.

MNRS Lifetime Achievement Award

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an MNRS member who has significantly advanced the profession of nursing either through an extensive program of research or creation of environments where research can flourish, and whose sustained leadership and distinguished career yielded outstanding and noteworthy accomplishments. 

The Expand Energy STEM Education Fund, managed by the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio, supports K-12 STEM education in Belmont, Guernsey, and Monroe counties. This fund, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities, invites public school districts and educators to apply for grants of up to $1,000 for innovative STEM projects. Priority is given to local organizations, but those outside the region serving these counties can also apply. The initiative fosters a collaborative environment for improving educational outcomes in Appalachian Ohio.

Rural Health Transformation Pharmacy Initiative

Summary

The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) was authorized by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (Section 71403 of Public Law 119-21) and empowers the state to strengthen rural communities by improving healthcare access, quality and outcomes by transforming the current system. Five key strategic goals of the program, as defined by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) are:

• Sustainable access
• Workforce development
• Innovative Care
• Technology Innovation

Ohio’s plan aligns with federal priorities to improve the health of rural residents through sustainable access, workforce development, innovative care, and tech advancement. As part of Ohio's Rural Health Transformation Program, the selected vendor will engage in activities to maximize the role that pharmacists and pharmacies play in ensuring access to healthcare in rural Ohio and Support systems and policy changes to allow pharmacists and pharmacies in rural Ohio to operate under an expanded scope of practice and provide training these professionals need to do so successfully. This work with pharmacists supports the RHTP objective of improving the health of rural Ohioans through chronic disease management, care coordination, and reducing drug related adverse events

Coover/Rural Schools Partnership Celebrate Rural Schools Grant Program

The Louis L. and Julia Dorothy Coover Foundation, a partnership between Community Foundation of the Ozarks and The Commerce Trust Company is proud to offer the Celebrate Rural Schools grant program, which will support projects that celebrate, strengthen, and elevate the unique identity of rural schools and the communities they serve. This grant supports projects that celebrate the unique culture, achievements, and identity of rural schools and their communities. It encourages districts to amplify local voices, showcase student success, and strengthen community connections. 

• Eligible applicants must be a member of the CFO's Rural Schools Partnership program.
• Total amount to award is $100,000.00.
• This is a single year grant program with final reports due in May 2027.
• Applicants may apply for up to $5,000 in funding for this grant cycle.

Ohio Rural Health Workforce Pipeline; Pathways, Upskilling, and Retention

Summary

Ohio recognizes the need to develop long-lasting pipelines that engage students at the earliest stages of career planning to educate them about the numerous opportunities that exist in healthcare. This is vitally important in rural areas where the need for workforce is great and we have the opportunity to create pathways for Ohio’s students in K-12 education settings to explore rural health careers, initiate learning in high school, continue training close to home (in technical/trade schools, community colleges, or universities with significant rural engagement), and secure careers in health provider settings within the rural communities that are most familiar to them. Our activities in this initiative will place high priority on integrating pipelines, recruitment and retention activities for 5-year work commitments, and upskilling and workforce development in RHTP sites. Projects will be implemented in partnership with academic institutions, other training facilities, and professional and paraprofessional associations to:

• In conjunction with the ODH and other state agencies, identify and prioritize rural healthcare workforce needs in Ohio’s 73 identified rural counties.
• Coordinate workforce pipeline activities between high schools, universities, community colleges, career technical schools, and healthcare employers. Activities include career awareness/exploration, pathways education awareness, and career awareness programs in K-12 education, secondary education programs, rural work-based learning/apprenticeships, career placement agreements with employers, and coordinating all Federal and State workforce development and financial resources. This could also include a multi-state approach for educational and healthcare systems that transcend state lines. A focus is placed on placements in RHTP facilities and partner programs funded through Ohio’s RHTP
• Provide rural recruitment and retention incentives and 6-month housing stipends for those who relocate to serve in rural communities for a minimum of 5-year commitments. This project will support filling workforce needs for various healthcare capacities, e.g., MD/DO, nurses, pharmacists, therapy providers, dietitians, behavioral health, oral health, optometry, audiology, Community Healthcare Workers (CHW)/navigators, etc. This could also include a multi-state approach for educational and healthcare systems that transcend state lines.
• Identify and promote continuing education opportunities for Ohio’s healthcare workforce.
• Collaborate with ODH, other state agencies, and vendors who are operationalizing RHT initiatives to support the workforce needs of those projects.

The California Casualty Music & Arts Grant supports K-12 public schools facing budget cuts that threaten their music and arts programs. Eligible applicants, who must be active employees of public K-12 schools and members of specified educator associations, can request grants of $250 for music or arts needs. This initiative aims to enhance creative education across the states, excluding AK, HI, MA, MI, NY, and WI. Applications received by July 15 will be notified by November 30.

The foundation supports 501(c)(3) organizations that address key challenges in education, the environment, and community well-being, ensuring impactful investments that help communities thrive across North America.

The B26 Occupant Protection Regional Coordination Solicitation offers grants starting at $30,000 to support programs aimed at enhancing occupant protection. Funded by the Ohio Department of Health and Human Services, this initiative requires first-tier subrecipients to manage operational costs until grant payments are received. The application process involves submitting program updates, budgets, and necessary attachments, adhering to specific policies and procedures, with funding covering a designated budget period from October 1, 2025, to September 30, 2026.

The XENO PRIZE for Performance Arts, awarded by Franklin Furnace, supports early-career LGBTQ+-identifying performance artists creating new work in 26 states with restrictive gender-affirming laws. This annual prize, established in 2023, offers $5000 to a selected recipient from proposals submitted for the Franklin Furnace FUND for Performance Art. It mandates annual grants to seven key organizations while also distributing additional funds to others twice a year. Grants typically start at $1,000 and focus on projects benefiting Ohio residents. Eligible applicants include IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) organizations, with considerations for projects that significantly impact community goals.

This scholarship supports Parkview co-workers pursuing Basic EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic certification, emphasizing the foundation's commitment to enhancing healthcare education and community service.
