The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond

The Community Foundation of Richmond is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving quality of life across the Richmond region by connecting people, ideas, and resources for lasting community impact. The Foundation manages charitable funds, supports local nonprofits, and leads strategic initiatives that address community priorities such as education, health, economic opportunity, and equity. Through grantmaking, donor services, and community leadership, the Foundation works to strengthen nonprofits, respond to emerging needs, and build a more resilient, inclusive, and thriving Richmond-area community.

Virginia Urology Center Scholarship

The Virginia Urology Center Scholarship Program was established in 1999 to benefit graduating seniors from public and private high schools in communities where Virginia Urology offices are located, including Metropolitan Richmond, the Tri-Cities, Northern Neck, Middle Peninsula and South Hill. The scholarship supports post-secondary study in the fields of science and medicine. Funds awarded will help to cover the costs of tuition, room, board, books and laboratory fees.

Ross Community Foundation

The RCF officially became the first affiliate of the Hamilton Community Foundation in 2022, giving it access to collective investments, administrative support, and decades of philanthropic expertise. 

Since its inception, the Ross Community Foundation has returned over $90,000 in total to local organizations serving the Ross community. These grants have been able to support a wide variety of needs in our community. Additionally, the Foundation has been able to serve our local nonprofits with continuing education opportunities and other essential needs.

Each year, our board continues to grow the Community Impact Fund through the Community Harvest Campaign, an annual fundraising effort dedicated to ensuring the Foundation can address the changing needs of the community.

Grants for Nonprofits Serving Ross

Purpose: To enhance the quality of life within the Ross Local School District community

The Ross Community Foundation (RCF) supports nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life within Ross Local School District communities including Ross Township, Morgan Township, Hanover Township, St. Clair Township, Fairfield Township, and Millville. The Foundation addresses a broad spectrum of community needs, empowering nonprofits to implement impactful programs and services.

Grants are made possible through generous community members who contributed to the Ross Community Foundation Fund. Established in March 2022, the fund has grown significantly, thanks to the support of individuals and businesses dedicated to the betterment of the Ross community.

Funding Priorities

The RCF grant committee awards grants based on need, impact, and merit and prioritizes projects related to education, food availability, and neighborhood needs. Applicants are encouraged to thoroughly demonstrate a need for funding, potentially filling an existing gap in services in the community. Widespread community impact is desired. Self-sustaining projects are preferred.

Geographic Area: Ross Local School District communities including Ross Township, Morgan Township, Hanover Township, St. Clair Township, Fairfield Township, and Millville.

Grant Review Note: RCF may ask applicants to attend a board meeting, conduct a site visit, or conduct a telephone call to obtain additional information. Site visits will be conducted in a group setting, and the applicant will be notified prior to any visit.

The A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust supports organizations committed to enhancing the lives of children and young adults. They focus on educational institutions, health-related initiatives, and community services in the St. Marys, Pennsylvania area. Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations demonstrating accountability and measurable outcomes, with a preference for projects that benefit the community at large. The Trust encourages collaborative funding efforts and endeavors that inspire hope and vision.

The Nelsonville Community Foundation Grants support projects that enhance the community's quality of life across five vital areas: arts and culture, economic development, education, environmental stewardship, and health services. With funding requests between $500 and $5,000, the foundation, in partnership with the Osteopathic Heritage Foundation, aims to empower local initiatives and ensure lasting benefits for Nelsonville and its neighboring communities.

The Iddings Foundation Grant, administered by the Iddings Benevolent Trust, focuses on supporting 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in Montgomery County, Ohio. With a history of over $22 million in grants, the foundation prioritizes youth development and impactful community projects. Eligible projects can receive funding for major, capital, medium, and small initiatives. Notably, the foundation does not consider grants for projects outside of Montgomery County. Organizations interested must consult with the Administrator before applying.

The Small Business Transition Grant for New Entrepreneurs, offered by the NIH, supports the career development of new investigators transitioning into entrepreneurship. It focuses on training and mentoring Program Directors/Principal Investigators in small business environments, enhancing their research and entrepreneurial skills. This grant is aimed at scientists with strong backgrounds in research and technology but limited experience in leading independent projects. The initiative ultimately seeks to foster innovative technologies that align with NIH's health improvement mission.

The Transport Phenomena (TP) program, supported by the National Science Foundation, aims to advance fundamental research in the transport of mass, momentum, energy, and species across various scales. This initiative focuses on innovative methodologies that enhance our understanding of single- and multiphase systems, thermodynamic processes, and combustion dynamics. By integrating theoretical, experimental, and computational approaches, TP seeks to connect microscale phenomena with broader engineering applications, ultimately contributing to national priorities in energy, biotechnology, and environmental sustainability.

The Ashtabula Foundation provides grants of $5,001 and above to non-profit organizations in Ashtabula County, focusing on arts, culture, education, recreation, and conservation. Organizations must hold a 501(C)(3) status and utilize funds to benefit local citizens. Each organization may submit one grant request annually. The foundation prioritizes projects that create a significant impact on the community, emphasizing human services alongside other categories.

The Musician Health & Services Program, funded by The Jeremy Willson Charitable Trust, provides essential support for professional musicians facing financial hardships due to medical or mental health issues. This program offers navigation assistance to help applicants access healthcare resources and financial aid for living and medical expenses. Eligible participants include musicians and music industry professionals residing in Oregon or Clark County, Washington. The program aims to alleviate the financial burdens associated with medical treatments and living costs.

The Ardelle and Theresa Glaze Foundation Grants support nonprofits that align with five key focus areas: The Arts, Community Empowerment, Conservation, Education, and Urban Design. The foundation seeks to partner with organizations that improve education, strengthen communities, promote the arts, and advocate for environmental stewardship. Grants are available exclusively to 501(c)(3) organizations, and unsolicited proposals are not accepted. The foundation emphasizes measurable outcomes and strong leadership in the nonprofits it supports.

The Troy Foundation Quarterly Grants aim to enhance the quality of life for the Troy community by supporting charitable projects in arts, education, health, and more. Established in 1924, the foundation manages over $100 million in assets and considers grant applications that primarily benefit residents of the Troy City School District. Organizations outside this area may also apply if they significantly impact the local population, promoting a vision for a better tomorrow.

The Climate Program Office (CPO) FY2026 Earth System Science and Services Partnership (ESSSP) aims to enhance NOAA's mission through collaborative research and activities. It focuses on understanding changes in Earth's systems and their impacts on ecosystems and communities. Eligible applicants include academic institutions offering doctoral degrees in NOAA-related sciences. The total funding available is approximately $10 million, supporting initiatives that encompass research, data evaluations, and stakeholder engagement.

The Crabill Family Foundation, established in 2018 by Angela and Scott Crabill, focuses on enhancing the quality of life in Springfield, Ohio, through grant funding. Prioritizing tax-exempt organizations, the foundation supports initiatives in healthcare, education, housing, and the arts. While they primarily select projects through family recommendations, unsolicited proposals are also considered. The foundation does not fund individual scholarships, sponsorships, emergency relief, or political activities, ensuring alignment with their values.

Each year, two fellows are placed in the offices of Senators, Representatives, or Committees, with the aim of educating them on how science policy is formed. Candidates with a strong background in chemical sciences or engineering are encouraged to apply, regardless of whether they hold a doctorate.

The Tuttleman Foundation, established in Philadelphia in 2003, provides grants ranging from $1,000 to $250,000 to 501c3 organizations. Guided by the legacy of Stanley and Edna Tuttleman, the foundation focuses on areas such as education, community building, health care, arts and museums, basic human services, and spirituality. Their engaged philanthropy aims to support enduring benefits for the communities they serve, reflecting the founders' commitment to impactful giving.
