A Focus on Rural

We serve the entire state, with a focus on rural North Carolina. Our 53 affiliate foundations serve as our roots in North Carolina’s rural communities and our expertise provides our fundholders with local insight that strengthens our grantmaking – and our communities.

Scholarships

We partner with donors to administer scholarships for students across the state. All NCCF scholarship opportunities are established with criteria determined by the donor. 

Ralph Edwin and Ruby Irene Holloman Davis Scholarship Endowment

Applicants are graduating seniors from high schools in Johnston County who are continuing their education at a college, university, community or junior college, technical school, nursing school, or other post-high school training leading to a degree or associate degree, with preference to those who have financial need.

The scholarships we award vary each year based on the unique criteria of each scholarship. In 2025, we awarded over $3 million in scholarships to over 500 students, including $1.3 million to 110 students in western NC through our Disaster Relief and Resilience Scholarship .

Depending on the scholarship, it may pay for tuition, room and board, books, fees and/or other related educational expenses.

Jack C. Wells Scholarship for Harnett County

This will be outlined in your award notification. The minimum scholarship award amount is $1,000.

NCCF scholarship awards are only issued to not-for-profit institutions and government entities such as public colleges or universities.

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Some of the funds help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study; still others assist students that are most in need. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds. 

Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically renewed each year. You can reapply to our program every year you are going to attend college, and the application you submit that year will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

To support residents of Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties

MAGA College Scholarship Program

MAGA Phoenix created the MAGA Scholarship Program in 2015, and has continued to award deserving students college scholarships each year. MAGA Phoenix takes great pride in being able to assist young students in achieving their educational goals.

The Mexican American Golf Association of Phoenix, Arizona (MAGA Phoenix) is dedicated to raising funds for college scholarships through monthly golf tournaments.

MAGA Phoenix is pleased to announce that we will be offering 12 qualified applicants $1,000.00 (renewable) scholarships to assist them in continuing their education. Eight of the 12 scholarships will be going to students entering into a traditional college/university and up to four of the scholarships will be going to students entering a trade/vocational/apprenticeship program.

To support male residents of Northampton with a preference for students attending law school. Consideration will be given to students attending medical school or studying to become religious ministers.

To support graduating high school seniors from Springfield, MA or Enfield, CT interested in pursuing careers in financial services, business or information technology.

This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors and current students with a minimum GPA of 2.5, promoting educational access and success. The foundation is dedicated to uplifting women and families through various initiatives focused on self-sufficiency, financial literacy, and emotional resilience, fostering long-term stability in the community.

The Dr. Betty James Robinson Youth Scholarship, offered by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, supports high school seniors in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, PA, who display financial need and maintain a minimum 2.7 GPA. This initiative aims to empower African American students facing economic challenges, helping them pursue post-secondary education opportunities and achieve academic persistence, thereby enhancing their future prospects and contributing to their communities.

David & Priscilla Morris Scholarship

The David and Priscilla Morris Scholarship was established to provide tuition support for Black or African American students attending Western Michigan University.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution.

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

The Hall of Scholars Scholarship, offered by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, recognizes high-achieving students who are committed to community service. Open to graduating high school seniors and African American college students in Bucks, Montgomery, or Philadelphia Counties, applicants must maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA and provide proof of acceptance or enrollment at an accredited institution. This scholarship honors both academic excellence and dedication to community service, empowering students to further their education.

The Lincoln Financial Textbook Scholarship, offered by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, supports undergraduate and graduate students in North Carolina and Pennsylvania. Eligible candidates must have completed at least 30 credit hours, reside in Bucks or Montgomery Counties, and pursue degrees in STEM fields such as Computer Science or Cybersecurity. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required. This scholarship aims to alleviate textbook costs while empowering students in high-demand technology careers.

The Robert W. and Irene O. James Community College / Technical Career Scholarship, provided by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, supports African American high school seniors from Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania, who aim to pursue education at community colleges or technical schools. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.75 and demonstrate commitment to their academic and career goals. This scholarship fosters access to postsecondary education, empowering young individuals to achieve economic stability and success.

Danial & Joeanna Smith Education Scholarship

The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Danial and Joeanna Smith for the purpose of providing educational scholarships to permanent residents of Van Buren County and who are planning to pursue a bachelor's degree at a four-year college/university. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

Curtis & Dorothy Young Scholarship

Duane Young, a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School and Michigan State University as well as a professional football player, established this fund in 1994 to provide scholarship assistance to student athletes who have the desire and the skills necessary to participate in athletics while attending a college/university.

Foundation Scholar Scholarship is designed to support graduating high school seniors in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania, who have a minimum GPA of 3.2 and demonstrate exceptional community service involvement. This initiative aims to empower young women by recognizing their academic excellence and commitment to community leadership. Established by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, the scholarship reflects a dedication to fostering economic security and self-sufficiency among deserving individuals.

The Second Chance College Scholarship, offered by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, provides financial support to adult learners aged 21 and older in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania. This scholarship aids those currently enrolled in postsecondary education, including four-year colleges and vocational schools, who have completed at least one semester. Its goal is to empower individuals to pursue their academic and career ambitions, fostering economic security and self-sufficiency.

Duane Roberts Scholarship

The Duane Roberts Scholarship was established in memory of Duane Roberts, a Kalamazoo Public Schools graduate, community activist, and KPS Board of Education member, to provide scholarship support to KPS minority students.

This scholarship, established by family and friends in memory of Brian Thiele, provides financial assistance to students who exhibit characteristics similar to those for which Brian is so fondly remembered. This includes playing varsity and/or club soccer, achievement of personal and academic goals, overcoming obstacles to meet his goals, competitive spirit, leadership and a special caring for community. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

Humphrey-Ragsdale Scholarship Fund

Criteria

Residents of Craven County or graduates of a Craven County high school who are pursuing higher education at a two-year or four-year college or university, community or technical college, apprenticeship program, or pursuing graduate school or other professional degree such as dental, medical, law or seminary. Preference for those with a connection to First Baptist Church of New Bern, including but not limited to a church member, family of a church member, employee or former employee, family of employee or former employee, or youth group member.

The McAllister’s Love Scholarship, provided by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, aims to empower high school seniors of African ancestry residing in Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania. With a minimum GPA of 3.5, applicants are encouraged to pursue degrees in business, communication, or engineering at four-year accredited institutions. This scholarship not only supports academic excellence but also promotes professional development in fields with promising career prospects, fostering a brighter future for the community.

The Patricia Blue Williams Scholarship, offered by the R.O.S.E. Foundation, supports African American public high school seniors from Bucks, Montgomery, or Philadelphia Counties, Pennsylvania, who are planning to enroll in college in Fall 2026. With a focus on expanding access to higher education, this scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a valid college acceptance letter. It aims to empower students and promote academic success within the Greater Philadelphia area.

The Watson - James Legacy HBCU Scholarship, provided by The R.O.S.E. Foundation, supports African American public high school students from Bucks and Montgomery Counties, Pennsylvania, who are pursuing higher education at select HBCUs. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate commitment to academic achievement. This scholarship aims to empower students by facilitating their transition to college, thereby enhancing their opportunities for personal and professional growth.
