The Pediatric Epilepsy Research Foundation® (PERF®) is committed to advancing pediatric neurology research by supporting the next generation of investigators. In recognition of the increasingly competitive and uncertain funding landscape, PERF is pleased to announce a new bridge grant program designed to support Early-Stage Investigators (ESIs) who are initiating their research careers in pediatric neurology. This pilot program provides critical financial support to bridge the gap between initial career development (K-award) application submission and successful resubmission, enabling investigators to strengthen their proposals and continue their career trajectory in child neurology research.

The Daniel E. and Marjorie A. Hartung Scholarship aims to support non-traditional single parents in Erie County, Ohio, seeking to further their education. Established in 1995, this fund focuses on those returning to school after a break or pursuing a degree part-time. Financial need is considered, promoting lasting contributions that enhance the quality of life in the community. The College Women's Club Charitable Fund Scholarship aims to support female graduating seniors from selected high schools in Erie County, Ohio, who are pursuing undergraduate degrees. Since its inception in 1995, the fund has played a vital role in enhancing educational opportunities and fostering leadership among local students.

The Carol & Joseph Tafelski Memorial Scholarship, awarded by the Erie Community Foundation, supports Erie High School students pursuing degrees in healthcare or medical research. With a total of over $800,000 in scholarships given in 2023, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.25 and be accepted into an accredited four-year college or university. The Dr. Michael J. Relihan Scholarship, offered by the Erie Community Foundation, awards deserving graduating seniors from Erie County high schools who have been accepted into accredited post-secondary institutions. In 2023, over $800,000 was distributed in scholarships to support more than 500 students in their pursuit of higher education and vocational training, empowering the next generation to achieve their academic and career goals.

The DefIANt Scholars Program, initiated by the Erie Community Foundation, provides scholarships aimed at students with disabilities. In 2023, over $800,000 was awarded to more than 500 deserving students to support their pursuit of post-secondary education. This initiative emphasizes breaking down barriers and misconceptions within educational environments, with a preference for applicants from Erie County, fostering inclusivity and opportunity within the disabled community.

The Autism Society Northwestern Pennsylvania Scholarship, provided by the Erie Community Foundation, aims to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder who have an IEP or 504 plan. In 2023, over $800,000 in scholarships were awarded to help more than 500 students pursue their educational goals. Preference is given to those with a current Autism Society NWPA membership, ensuring that resources are directed to those who need it most in their journey towards higher education and job training.

The William T. Grant Foundation offers Research Grants on Improving the Use of Research Evidence, aimed at enhancing research strategies that benefit youth aged 5-25 in the U.S. Grants range from $25,000 to $50,000 over one to two years, including up to 15% for indirect costs.
