The Ronald and Wendy Smith Clinical Research Grant supports innovative studies in orthopaedic foot and ankle surgery. Ed was an Acclaim board member from 1987 until 2021. He held various positions during his tenure including Chairman. During his many years of admirable volunteerism, he offered unwavering support and guidance to the ever growing success and growth of Acclaim. In honor of his hard work, volunteerism, and dedication to our credit union, we have established an annual $1,000 scholarship fund available to our members.

Acclaim has partnered with the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation to offer an easy-to-manage application process for our members. There’s a simple sign up process which allows you to manage your scholarship application through their portal.

In addition to the Acclaim Federal Credit Union Ed Thomas Community scholarship, the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation is offering additional scholarship awards. The Carnegie-Whitney Grant, established by Andrew Carnegie in 1902, supports the creation of bibliographical aids for American libraries. Grants cover the preparation costs of reading lists and indexes, enhancing access to library resources. Eligibility requires projects to stimulate library use and be broadly appealing, with a focus on national distribution. Notably, completed works and projects under contract are ineligible. The fund encourages innovation in library resource development, welcoming applications from individuals and organizations.

The Seven Scholarship Fund was created to assist students financially and professionally who show an aptitude and desire to make a significant impact in both their community and the world at large.

This scholarship will be awarded in one payment prior to the fall semester of the upcoming school year.

The Opportunities for Collaborative Research at the NIH Clinical Center aims to foster high-quality translational research partnerships between NIH intramural and extramural investigators. This program supports projects that bridge basic biological discoveries with clinical applications, ultimately enhancing patient-centric research. By facilitating collaborations, the program seeks to accelerate scientific advancements leading to improved health outcomes through innovative therapeutic interventions and diagnostic strategies.
