The ACUMEN Scholarship, provided by the East Bay Community Foundation, aims to support financially challenged students from Youth Spirit Artworks, Oakland Tech High School, and McClymonds High School. Each year, up to three scholarships are awarded, with amounts of $5,000 for 2-year colleges and $8,000 for 4-year colleges. The Austrian-Hungarian Singing – Sick Benefit Society Donau, Inc. Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, supports graduating high school seniors pursuing higher education, particularly in fields related to Austrian or German culture. Preference is given to students of Austrian, German, or Swiss-German descent or members of the Austrian-Hungarian Club. This initiative not only aids academic pursuits but also promotes cultural heritage preservation.

A great example of this collaborative philanthropy is our scholarship program. 

More than 20 credit unions in North Carolina and South Carolina have active managed funds at the Foundation. The generosity of these credit unions helps hundreds of high school seniors as well as undergraduate and graduate students receive scholarship funds each year.

Vision Financial Federal Scholarship Fund

Vision Financial is committed to giving back and recognizes the importance of education and academic assistance.

Scholarships provide an opportunity for people to earn an education and pursue their dreams. Vision Financial is proud to award three deserving high school students entering college with $1,000 scholarships for Fall 2026.

The Graton Fellowship, offered by the Sundance Institute, supports Indigenous artists from California-based tribes by providing a $25,000 grant and a year of comprehensive support. This includes access to mentorship, strategic creative services, and participation in the Sundance Film Festival. The initiative aims to empower artists to share their unique stories through film, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of California Indian tribes and fostering a greater understanding of their perspectives.

Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union Legacy Scholarship Fund

At Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union (CTFCU), we pride ourselves in giving back to our members and the communities we serve. We've partnered with Carolinas Credit Union Foundation to award TEN individual members with a $1,500 CTFCU Legacy Scholarship.

The Ruth Hatcher and Joe Williamson Music Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Abilene, provides financial support for McMurry junior or senior students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Music or a Bachelor of Music Education. This scholarship, honoring the legacy of Ruth Williamson's parents, is part of a broader initiative that supports various students with awards ranging from $500 to over $5,000, ensuring accessibility to music education.

Colleen Bray Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for students seeking certification in dog grooming, vet tech, or any secondary education in animal sciences. 

The Ruth and Bill Burton Memorial Scholarship, established by Shellie B. Evans, honors her parents' legacy of community service and education. This scholarship supports Abilene ISD seniors and alumni with a minimum GPA of 3.2. Awards range from $500 to over $5,000, providing financial assistance to those pursuing higher education or vocational training in the U.S. Payments are made directly to institutions in August and January, promoting educational advancement for deserving students.

The Arnold D. Ducanes, MD Scholarship, administered by the Decatur County Community Foundation, supports Greensburg Community High School graduates pursuing post-secondary education in Allied Health. The scholarship aims to ease educational financial burdens while fostering community health professionals. If no qualified applicants are found, it may extend to deserving Decatur County residents already enrolled in the field. Notably, members of the Ducanes family are ineligible for this award.

The African-American Community Foundation - Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship, established in 1999 by The Dayton Foundation, honors Scott Simpson, a promising athlete and scholar. This scholarship supports Montgomery County high school graduates pursuing higher education at accredited institutions. With a focus on leadership, academic achievement, and community involvement, it aims to empower students who demonstrate resilience and dedication to their education, fostering a brighter future for the community.

The Common Cents Scholarship, offered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, provides up to two $3,000 scholarships to Dallas ISD students involved in the Common Cents philanthropy program. This scholarship can be utilized for tuition, books, and fees at accredited colleges, universities, trade, or vocational schools across the U.S. Eligible applicants must be current Juniors or Seniors at a Dallas ISD High School and must have participated in the program during the application year.

The H. D. Segur and Friends Scholarship, established by the Connecticut Community Foundation, provides a one-time award for graduating high school students entering college. As one of the largest scholarship providers in the Greater Waterbury and Litchfield Hills region, this initiative aims to support students in achieving their educational dreams. With a rich history dating back to 1923, the Foundation is dedicated to addressing community issues and fostering equitable outcomes for local residents.

The Dayton Daily News Si Burick Scholarship honors the legacy of sports editor Si Burick, awarded annually to a graduating senior from specific counties in Ohio pursuing journalism. The scholarship emphasizes academic success and journalistic aspirations, supporting students with a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrated financial need. Established by The Dayton Foundation, this initiative reflects a commitment to fostering talent in journalism while contributing to the community's cultural and educational landscape.

SPARK Grant: Supporting Pediatric Neurology Advances through Research in K-Awards

For early-stage investigators who are re-applying for NIH K08 or K23 Career Development Awards

Overview

The Pediatric Epilepsy Research Foundation® (PERF®) is committed to advancing pediatric neurology research by supporting the next generation of investigators. In recognition of the increasingly competitive and uncertain funding landscape, PERF is pleased to announce a new bridge grant program designed to support Early-Stage Investigators (ESIs) who are initiating their research careers in pediatric neurology. This pilot program provides critical financial support to bridge the gap between initial career development (K-award) application submission and successful resubmission, enabling investigators to strengthen their proposals and continue their career trajectory in child neurology research.

The C.V.M. Scholarship Fund, established by Communities Foundation of Texas, offers up to $10,000 to graduates of Mildred Independent School District pursuing further education. Since 1953, CFT has collaborated with donors and nonprofits to uplift communities. Eligible candidates must have a GPA of 4.0 (out of 7.0) and meet SAT or ACT score requirements. This initiative aims to empower local students in their educational journeys.

The Oliver E. Sweikar Scholarship offers up to $20,000 for students pursuing degrees in electronics or electrical engineering at 4-year colleges, and up to $6,000 for those at 2-year technical colleges. Eligibility requires maintaining student status and good academic standing. Awards are renewable annually, with specific conditions for continued eligibility. Students changing majors should consult the Community Foundation to ensure they remain eligible for funding.

The Mentored Clinical Scientist Research Career Development Award (K08) supports individuals with clinical doctoral degrees to pursue intensive research training. This program focuses on developing skills in biomedical and behavioral research, addressing national health-related research needs. The Enhancing Student Mathematics Learning through the Use of Tools and Technology Grants, provided by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, aim to promote innovative technology use in teaching mathematics to Pre-K-12 students. These grants encourage proposals that focus on enhancing students' understanding of math concepts through various tools, including professional development for educators. Eligible applicants include current math teachers and full-time coaches, with a focus on impactful evaluation plans.

The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is designed to support promising postdoctoral researchers in transitioning to independent faculty positions. This initiative aims to maintain a strong cohort of talented investigators by providing independent NIH research funding during this critical phase. Key application deadlines span from June 2024 to February 2027, encouraging applications from diverse fields, including AIDS-related research.

The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) aims to enhance the career development of promising postdoctoral researchers by transitioning them into independent faculty positions. This program supports innovative research during the critical transition phase, enabling awardees to establish successful, independent research careers. Key application deadlines span from June 2024 to February 2027, with specific dates for standard, renewal, and AIDS-related applications. This initiative is vital for fostering a new generation of NIH-supported investigators.

The NIH Midcareer Investigator Award in Patient-Oriented Research (K24) supports mid-career health professionals by providing protected time for patient-oriented research and mentorship to clinical residents, fellows, and junior faculty. The program aims to enhance research capabilities and promote career development in the field of patient-oriented research. Key deadlines for applications include June 12, 2024, and October 12, 2024, among others, ensuring opportunities for renewal and resubmission.

The NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) supports the transition of postdoctoral researchers to independent faculty positions. It aims to enhance the number of talented NIH-supported investigators by providing funding during their transition to independent research careers. Key deadlines for applications are set for various dates through 2027. This program is crucial for developing a strong cohort of new independent researchers, fostering innovation in health-related fields.

Turlock Irrigation District Energy Scholarship

Open to high school seniors attending a high school within the TID District territory planning to pursue a career in the Energy Utility Sector. (i.e. Engineering, Environmental Science, Electrical, Lineman etc.). Must plan to attend an accredited trade school or college/university and demonstrate financial need. The household must be a TID customer.

Award Amount:

The Russell W. Ligon Memorial Engineering Scholarship, offered by the Four County Community Foundation, supports high school seniors and recent graduates from seven school districts pursuing degrees in engineering or computer science. Eligible students can receive up to four awards of $1000 each, contingent upon a GPA of 3.00 or higher, a letter of recommendation, and an essay response. Awardees will be recognized at the Foundation Scholarship Celebration and local high school awards events.

The Procter & Gamble Strategic Fund Grant aims to enhance lives through impactful initiatives such as infant development, hygiene, and oral care. As a highly competitive fund, it supports IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations that provide national programs where P&G can uniquely add value. Interested applicants should carefully assess their eligibility and align with the grant's specific focus areas before applying.

The Ed Dwight Scholarship

The Ed Dwight Scholarship is one of many funding opportunities available to students through NAACP's Inspire Initiatives. We offer scholarships to outstanding and qualified students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Through the generosity of our donors, we advance efforts to ensure equity in educational opportunities that prepare students for success in school, work, and life.

The Ed Dwight Scholarship honors Ed Dwight, a trailblazer in the American space program, author, and sculptor. Ed was the first Black astronaut candidate, the first to enter the program, complete the training and fully qualified as an astronaut. At the age of 90, he finally had the opportunity to see the earth from outside the atmosphere and became the oldest person to go to space.
