The AO North America Long-Term Fellowship Program offers vital support for the education and training of orthopedic trauma surgeons. Renee Powell Scholarship

The Renee Powell Scholarship will be awarded through The LPGA Foundation and the LPGA Renee Powell Fund. Established in 2022, the Renee Powell Scholarship will provide financial aid to female, Black or African American, high school seniors pursuing a full-time course of study and playing collegiate golf at an accredited college or university in the United States. Through this effort, The LPGA Foundation will further its commitment to Change the Face of Golf and create opportunities for Black or African American girls to pursue their dreams. 

The John Ostrom Enders II Memorial Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, awards $4,000 to graduating seniors from East Lyme, New London, or Waterford High School. This scholarship supports students with a strong commitment to the creative arts and community service. Since 1983, the Foundation has distributed over $11.9 million in scholarships, helping students pursue higher education and rewarding careers.

Hermann K. Brauer Memorial Scholarship Fund

Students must be preparing for a professional career in medicine, dentistry, nursing, engineering or other science, teaching or law. The scholarship will not be used for career preparation in veterinary medicine, funeral direction, mortuary science, or in the ministry. The student must demonstrate clear financial need. This will be outlined in your award notification. The minimum scholarship award amount is $1,000.

NCCF scholarship awards are only issued to not-for-profit institutions and government entities such as public colleges or universities.

College Students Scholarships 

The DeKalb County Farm Bureau Foundation endeavors to recognize students for their academic, school and community performance while in college. The recognition is in the form of a scholarship to the student’s school of choice. The scholarship award will be sent directly to the recipient’s school to be applied toward college costs. 

Arden & Dorothy Baie Scholarship

This scholarship was established in memory of Arden and Dorothy Baie. The Baie Scholarship is available to college sophomores, juniors and seniors pursuing any field of study. One, $2,400 will be awarded to a deserving student.

ORS/OREF Distinguished Investigator Award

The ORS/OREF Distinguished Investigator Award honors an individual who has significantly contributed to the field of orthopaedic research and to the ORS and the OREF through their outstanding scientific achievements and their commitment of time and service.

A committee comprised of five individuals, including past ORS/OREF Distinguished Investigator Award honorees, established member representatives from the ORS and active OREF volunteers, will each submit a maximum of two nominees to be considered for this award.

The person nominating the ORS member for this award must include the following information about the nominee at the time of submission:

The Illuminations Grant for Black Trans Women Visual Artists, a $10,000 annual grant, supports early-career Black trans women artists in the U.S. whose contributions to visual arts are often overlooked. For graduating seniors or graduates from a high school within the Dane G. Hansen Foundation service area, which is defined as the 26 counties in northwest Kansas north of I-70 and west of I-135/Hwy 81, who are pursuing a major in nursing or another health-related field. Preference will be given to students who are graduates of or who are qualified to graduate from Decatur Community High School- Oberlin, KS.

Background

The family and friends of Jody Fredrickson, desiring to continue her memory, established a scholarship to a student for the purpose of promoting continued education. Preference is given to the nursing field, but all other health related fields will be considered.

Applicant will provide three letters of recommendation from: a member of the clergy, an educator and a person of his/her choice.

The Marilynn Smith Scholarship is granted annually through The LPGA Foundation and the Golf it Forward Foundation. Established in 1999 by Marilynn with the proceeds of a golf tournament she organized, the objective of the Marilynn Smith Scholarship is to provide a scholarship to a female high school senior, who is a legal resident or citizen of the United States or Canada, has played golf in high school or in her community and intends to play golf at an accredited college or university in the United States.

The World Trade Center Scholarship in New Jersey provides financial support to dependent children and surviving spouses of residents who lost their lives in the September 11 attacks. Administered by HESAA, this scholarship covers tuition, fees, and other educational costs at eligible institutions. Applicants must be full-time students and maintain satisfactory academic progress.
