Dunkirk Area Labor Council Scholarship

The Dunkirk Area Labor Council Scholarship supports graduating students who are furthering their education in the trades or manufacturing technology.

The AO North America VET Preceptorships Program offers surgical residents from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons the chance to enhance their skills in Veterinary Trauma and Orthopedics through a structured training experience. Participants can receive up to four weeks of advanced training in AO techniques at designated surgical centers, with funding available for housing and travel expenses, totaling up to $2,750. This initiative aims to foster professional development and improve patient care outcomes.

The USA Football Grant Program offers funding for youth organizations, middle schools, and girls flag football programs to improve operational standards and enhance athlete experiences. Spring Grants are available to help teams acquire necessary equipment and reduce barriers to play, while Fall Grants assist in future planning and increasing participation. Applications for Spring Grants are accepted until March 17, 2025, supporting the mission of #FootballForAll.

The Rocky Talkie Search and Rescue Award, sponsored by the American Alpine Club, provides $75,000 annually to support underfunded Search and Rescue (SAR) teams in the U.S. and Canada. The Tito Villalobos Moreno Memorial Scholarship Fund, managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation, aims to support graduating high school seniors from specific Texas counties pursuing education in health care and social services. This scholarship provides financial assistance for tuition, fees, and books, helping students further their education and positively impact the community. Established to honor Tito Villalobos Moreno, this initiative reflects a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for future generations through education.

Claud Hyatt Scholarship

The Claud N. Hyatt Scholarship was established in 2023 as a permanent fund of Taos Community Foundation. Mr. Hyatt started his teaching career in 1964, and dedicated his entire career to teaching history at Clayton High School. His desire to give back to the Clayton community has made this scholarship possible. The award is available to graduating seniors of Clayton High School who are pursuing advancement of higher education beyond high school. The scholarship is available to those applying to 2 or 4 year colleges and universities as well as vocational / trade schools. Award amounts will be determined at the time of committee review and will be within the range of $2,000 and $8,000. The awards will be paid out in annual installments for up to four years for those students attending a 4 year institution, 2 years for those students attending a 2 year institution, or per unit for certificate programs. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA and be enrolled as a full time student to continue eligibility for the scholarship.

The United Charitable Fund, managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation, offers scholarships for graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in various fields. Timothy Ryan Memorial Scholarship

The Timothy Ryan Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students who exemplify characteristics exhibited by Timothy during his brief life: loving, caring, generous, family-oriented, genuine, sincere, and humorous.

The Valero Scholarship Fund, managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation, offers financial support to dependent children of full-time Valero employees. This fund aims to empower students pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's Degree by covering tuition, fees, books, and room and board. With the potential for renewal over three years, applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrate involvement in extracurricular activities. The Victor J. Ferrari Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the San Antonio Area Foundation, supports students pursuing degrees in Education. Roger Testrake Memorial Scholarship

The Roger Testrake Memorial Scholarship benefits students residing in Ripley, NY who plan on continuing their education after high school and have a relative who has served in the military.

Roger Testrake was instrumental in building a monument in Ripley to honor all veterans. This scholarship was renamed to honor him for all his perseverance, dedication and hard work on behalf of the Ripley Veterans Roll of Honor Organization. 

The Shenoy Undergraduate Research Fellowship in Neuroscience (SURFiN) by the Simons Foundation aims to engage undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in neuroscience research. The program offers paid research assistantships at various labs across the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Selected fellows will gain hands-on experience and mentorship during the 2024-2025 academic year, fostering diversity and innovation in scientific research. This initiative supports students in their academic journey while promoting inclusivity in the scientific community.

The Vikki Carr Scholarship Foundation, part of the San Antonio Area Foundation, offers financial assistance to high school seniors from Bexar County pursuing higher education. Students of Mexican-American descent, especially those who are bilingual, are given preference. This scholarship aims to empower youth by alleviating educational costs for various degrees, ensuring that students with financial need can continue their studies and contribute positively to the community.

The Retail Food Safety Regulatory Association Collaboration program supports state, local, tribal, and territorial (SLTT) food safety initiatives to mitigate food-borne illness risks. Funded by the FDA, this initiative aids SLTT agencies in research and intervention implementation, aiming to enhance public health and establish a cohesive national food safety framework. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations connected to higher education institutions, focusing on retail food safety.

ASPCA PRO

ASPCApro.org provides tools and resources for animal welfare professionals, veterinary personnel and volunteers. We take a progressive approach to helping the country's at-risk animals, promoting cutting edge research to advance the field.

ASPCA Research Grants

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) research grants fund high-quality research with a clear potential to benefit animals, either directly or through effecting systems-level change. Proposals to extend existing studies, focused on other disciplines, will also be considered if they can clearly demonstrate substantial potential benefit to animal welfare.

This year we are soliciting proposals in the following six research areas:

• Access to Veterinary Care (AVC) Research
• Applied Behavior Research
• Cruelty Research
• Farm Animal Welfare Research
• Psychological Trauma Research
• Shelter Research

Proposals focused on evaluating the effectiveness of a program or service must demonstrate methodological rigor and a clear plan to produce generalizable scientific knowledge. Please view eligibility information for specific projects from the research area you are interested in. 

Access to Veterinary Care (AVC) Research

Proposals that address AVC for cats, dogs, and equines from any angle (e.g., medical, legal, impact, program delivery, community engagement, veterinary engagement). Ideally, the research will establish tools or guidelines that professionals and organizations can use to improve access to veterinary care.

Proposals that include a shelter-researcher partnership aspect are especially encouraged. Examples include, but are not limited to, inclusion of both shelter and academic staff on the study team, the creation of a shelter-facing deliverable, an implementation prospectus that includes a feasibility assessment and identified partner shelter.

The Walter and Hannelore Schwindt Trust, managed by the San Antonio Area Foundation, supports students pursuing degrees in various scientific and technical fields. Eligible applicants include current high school seniors and college students from specific Texas counties, with a minimum GPA requirement. This renewable scholarship covers tuition and living expenses for full-time students, emphasizing academic excellence and commitment to fields such as astronomy, medical research, and biochemistry.

The Wharton Nursing Leaders Program Scholarship, offered by the Oncology Nursing Foundation, supports nurse-managers aspiring to become chief nursing officers. This program, taking place from December 15-19, 2025, in Philadelphia, focuses on enhancing leadership skills through interactive sessions. Applicants must first be accepted into the program and meet specific eligibility criteria, ensuring that the scholarship aids those committed to advancing their careers in oncology nursing.

Armstrong County Community Foundation

The Armstrong County Community Foundation, a public nonprofit corporation,

Quality Life Services Healthcare Career Scholarship Fund

Quality Life Services has a long history of providing quality healthcare in Western Pennsylvania. In 1973, Kenneth R Tack Sr. and his sons Philip E. Tack and Kenneth R Tack Jr. founded Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington, PA. Quality Life Services has since expanded to include Chicora Medical Center in Chicora, PA; Trinity Living Center in Grove City, PA; Countryside in Mercer, PA; South Fayette Nursing Center in Markleysburg, PA; Henry Clay Villa in Markleysburg, PA; West Haven Manor in Apollo PA; Golden Hill Nursing and Rehab in New Castle, PA; Quality Pharmacy in Chicora, PA; and Fair Winds Manor in Sarver, PA.

Since its origination, Quality Life Services has been committed to providing exceptional healthcare services and career opportunities to thousands of people in our community. As a way of continuing that commitment to quality care and saying thanks to those who have helped to provide it, a scholarship has been established for current employees’ children and grandchildren who are pursuing a career in healthcare.

The SCI Research on the Translational Spectrum (SCIRTS) portfolio aims to promote innovative research that enhances function and alleviates complications following spinal cord injuries. It encourages studies that involve individuals with SCI, emphasizing translational significance in research designs. SCIRTS grants support diverse research areas, including mechanistic, preclinical, and clinical studies, to develop effective interventions. Funding categories include Postdoctoral Fellowships, Pilot Research Grants, and Senior Research Grants, targeting early-career and senior investigators to advance spinal cord injury research.

The Community Foundation of Marquette County distributes over $130,000 annually in scholarships to benefit aspiring students in Marquette County.

Marquette Senior High School Class of 1977 Scholarship Fund 

Provides scholarships to MSHS graduating students who best represent the character, ideals and drive of the Class of 1977. The recipient shall use the scholarship to pursue a college degree or vocational education program of their choice. 

Distribution Process

• CFMC scholarship recipients will be contacted in June requesting student enrollment verification
• Scholarships can only be distributed once student’s information is received
• Scholarships will be distributed to the college/school/university indicated by student
• The scholarship must be used for tuition and fees required for the enrollment or attendance of the student at a qualifying educational institution; fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses of instruction at such an educational institution; and room and board, within the first semester of first year of students enrollment
• That year’s recipient must claim the scholarship within that fiscal year to be distributed (by 12/31/xx)

The San Antonio Area Foundation's Legacy Scholars program provides substantial scholarships to high school juniors in Bexar and Webb counties. Focusing on students with proven leadership and community involvement, this initiative aims to bridge opportunity gaps and support education in all areas of study. The Community Foundation is home to 50 scholarship funds established by generous individuals, organizations and businesses to help students from our community and surrounding areas pursue their dreams through education. 

Elga Ann Denny Scholarship Fund

The Elga Ann Denny Scholarship fund was created to benefit the graduating seniors of Iowa Park CISD. Elga Ann Denny was a long time resident of Iowa Park. Ms. Denny passed away in May 2022 at the age of 88. In her will, she left instructions to create a scholarship fund for the students of Iowa Park. These funds can be used at any college or trade school, for any field of study. There are a number of one-time $2,000 scholarships available, and (2) $4,000 renewable scholarships available, that could renew for up to 4 years based on GPA. 

The Dr. Doris R. Corbett-Johnson Leaders for Our Future Award, presented by SHAPE America, honors young professionals under 36 who exhibit exceptional promise in scholarship, teaching, and leadership. This prestigious award is available in two categories: college/university and non-college/university, with a maximum of two recipients per category each year. By recognizing emerging leaders, SHAPE America aims to inspire a new generation dedicated to advancing health and physical education.

The Community Foundation of Marquette County distributes over $130,000 annually in scholarships to benefit aspiring students in Marquette County.

Lowell A. Larson Scholarship

Provides scholarships to MSHS graduating students pursuing secondary education in the trades including, but not limited to construction, welding, automotive, hvac, etc.

Distribution Process

• CFMC scholarship recipients will be contacted in June requesting student enrollment verification
• Scholarships can only be distributed once student’s information is received
• Scholarships will be distributed to the college/school/university indicated by student
