This Notice of Funding Availability and Solicitation (NOFA) is intended for applicants seeking to undertake activities resulting in an increase of affordable housing stock in Washington State, or to preserve existing affordable housing stock through rehabilitation.

MHU intends to award $$21,892,625 made available by the Washington State Legislature.

The BECU Foundation's People Helping People Awards honor exceptional nonprofit work in communities served by BECU. Each year, BECU members can nominate organizations for grants up to $50,000. The Snoqualmie Tribal Organization Grant for Family Services offers up to $50,000 to 501c3 nonprofit organizations in Washington State. This grant supports vital services for families, including homelessness assistance, youth programs, rehabilitation, and domestic violence support. Since 2010, the Snoqualmie Tribe has donated over $8 million to various initiatives, illustrating their commitment to community welfare. The Zinnia Grant is a competitive funding opportunity aimed at making a significant impact in Oregon organizations. It typically awards between $250,000 and $350,000 annually for a three-year term. Community Reinvestment Plan Homeownership Capital Accelerator 

Commerce’s Community Reinvestment Program (CRP) is now accepting applications from organizations, lenders and tribes to assist people disproportionally experiencing wealth disparities with buying homes and building generational wealth.

Funding will support expanding affordable homeownership opportunities. This can include:

• Land acquisition loan program
• Capacity building for emerging community-based housing organizations
• Culturally responsive financial coaching
• Flexible mortgage products that help buyers become mortgage-ready faster
• Foreclosure remediation for people who own and live in their home
• Upgrades to homes that people own and live in that address health and safety needs
• Loan programs to create accessory dwelling units (ADU) or detached accessory dwelling units (DADU)

HUD811 Project Rental Assistance (PRA) Program

The Department of Commerce is soliciting applications from qualified applicants for funding of units to be set aside for clients referred by the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services, under the HUD Section 811 Project Rental Assistance program.

811 PRA units provide non-time-limited tenancy for non-elderly persons with disabling conditions.

Low-Income Home Rehabilitation Grant Program (HRGP)

The Department of Commerce is issuing a Request for Applications (RFA) to solicit proposals from qualified applicants interested in administering the Low-Income Home Rehabilitation Grant Program (HRGP) in rural areas of Washington State, defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as “non-entitlement” areas.

The HRGP provides funding to help low-income households address health, safety, and durability issues in existing single-family homes. Eligible services include home repair and improvement activities for individuals who own and permanently reside in their single-family residential structures. Priority must be given to homeowners who are:

• People with disabilities
• Families with children who are five years old and younger
• Veterans
