Healthy Chippewa County Grants
About the Grants
The Healthy Chippewa County (HCC) grant program, supported by endowed funds at the Community Foundation of Chippewa County (CFCC), provides funding to invest in organizations serving the greater Chippewa County area. Grants are awarded to programs that address key health needs across the County. Funding prioritizes programming initiatives that meet current community health needs, while also reducing health disparities. It will also support AODA services, home health and hospice, financial assistance to health care and care for women and infants.
Applicants are limited to one application per cycle and may apply specifically for one of the five priority program areas. Grants are awarded toward the end of June each calendar year and the grants range from $20,000-35,000.
General Community needs such as the arts, community development, animal care and general education are not included in the scope for this opportunity. Grants may not be used to support abortion, contraception, assisted suicide, IVF or embryonic stem cell research.
The Wetland General Permit (GP) Surcharge Restoration Program funds projects that benefit wetlands and associated aquatic resources through an annual RFP process. All projects should target the restoration of wetlands or aquatic resources and ideally contain a hydrologic restoration component (tile breaking, ditch filling, stream re-meandering). Projects must be open to the public for hunting, fishing, trapping, cross-country skiing, or hiking or some combination thereof. The DNR is currently seeking proposals that do not exceed $100,000.
Highest priority projects involve restoring wetlands to areas where they currently are not. These projects often consist of restoration of ditched or tiled cropland. Other ideal project components include wetland seeding and invasive species control post-restoration. Medium priority projects consist of hydrologic restoration of existing wetlands, stream restoration projects with a demonstrable wetland benefit, and invasive species control in high-quality wetlands. Low priority projects include wetland creation (putting a wetland where there historically was not one), invasive species control of low-quality wetlands, and upland restoration next to wetlands.

Guidelines for the Snowmobile Trail Aids Program
Introduction
The snowmobile grant program was created with the passage of Chapter 394 Laws of 1970. The Department of Natural Resources was authorized to administer a grant program for the acquisition, development, insurance and maintenance of public snowmobile trails. A Governor's Snowmobile Recreation Council consisting of 15 members was created to advise the Department on matters relating to the administration of the program.
Through the efforts of the Snowmobile Recreation Council, the Department and organized snowmobile clubs, a number of changes and additions have been made to the original legislation. These changes have resulted in a program that fosters a safe, well-maintained snowmobile trail system throughout Wisconsin and effective enforcement and safety programs for all enthusiasts.
The purpose of this guide is to outline the requirements of the components of Wisconsin's snowmobile grant programs.
