Best Addiction and Substance Abuse Grants in Idaho

The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is seeking qualified applicants to provide recovery support services in Idaho. Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) promotes recovery supports systems that involve collaboration with individuals in recovery from mental and substance use disorders, as well as their families. The goal aims to address the Idaho’s drug crisis by increasing access to Opioid and Stimulant Use Disorder services, promoting recovery and resilience, reducing the number of opioid and stimulant related deaths, and developing a collaborative approach to providing services and supports. 

The purpose of this subgrant is to support the development, implementation, and/or operation of Recovery Support Warm Handoff programs for individuals who have received medical care from a medical facility such as an Emergency Department (ED) or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider due to an issue resulting from their substance use. The goal of this program is to ensure a seamless transition for individuals experiencing a medical condition or intervention due to their substance use to appropriate treatment and recovery support services.

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to strengthen and expand Idaho’s behavioral health workforce with targeted training, education, and career pathway strategies which enhance professional capacity and service-delivery strategies that address the needs of individuals navigating substance use or other co-occurring behavioral health disorders. 

The US Department of Health & Human Services, through the NIH, invites applications for innovative approaches to implement SBIRT/P for addressing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in adults facing health disparities. Child & Family Mental Well-Being Grants

To qualify for Child and Family Mental Well-Being funding, your program or service must focus on families with children. Funding priority areas include:

• Mental well-being for children, including: reducing suicide deaths; reducing frequent mental distress, anxiety, and depression; decreasing substance misuse
• Advance prevention and early intervention addressing risk and protective factors
• Expand comprehensive, family-centered, mental well-being programs
• Build trauma-informed systems for young children including evidence-based prevention, behavioral health treatment, or related interventions or programs
• Strengthen community behavioral health capacity and collaborations through coalition-building

Requirements

• A full and complete financial audit conducted within the last two years. Submission must include the entire audit, including any findings and the auditor's letter
• A copy of the organization's 501(c)(3) designation letter or a comparable government designation
• A completed W9
• A completed Supplier Form (a blank copy will be provided in the application)

Additional information

• In Utah and Idaho, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $100,000 per year for 3 years (up to $300,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• In Colorado, Montana, and Nevada, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $50,000 per year for 2 years (up to $100,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• A funding request may not exceed 20 percent of an organization’s annual operating budget, e.g., to be eligible for a $50,000 grant, your organization’s annual operating budget must be at least $250,000.
• In general, small equipment and materials are eligible at no more than a total $5,000 cost, but large equipment, construction, and capital costs are not eligible. Consideration will be given if computer equipment is necessary and vital to the success of the project.

The Substance Use/Substance Use Disorder Dissertation Research Award supports doctoral candidates in completing their dissertation research on substance use disorders. The HEAL initiative aims to translate addiction research into practice to combat the opioid crisis and overdose events. It focuses on identifying barriers to reducing substance use and developing scalable, evidence-based interventions. Emphasizing recovery, prevention, and the integration of mental health, the initiative encourages collaboration among experts in various fields. Although applications are not currently solicited, potential applicants are urged to prepare for future opportunities to apply innovative solutions to enhance addiction treatment and prevention efforts.

Just One More Grant aims to transform lives by providing financial support to individuals and nonprofit organizations in the U.S. who are overcoming challenges like mental health issues, drug misuse, and educational barriers.
