Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations that align with these interests. The foundation is committed to enhancing community well-being through targeted grant-making.

The SECU Foundation Grant, offered by the State Employees Credit Union Foundation, focuses on supporting non-profits and governmental organizations that embody the philosophy of people helping people. The grant aims to promote community development through high-impact projects in housing, education, healthcare, and human services. Eligible projects should be tangible, have a statewide or major regional impact, and enhance the conditions for public employees in North Carolina. This initiative fosters collaboration and addresses critical community issues.

The North Carolina Tuition Assistance Program (NCTAP) offers financial support to actively drilling Army and Air Guard members in North Carolina. This reimbursement program helps service members cover tuition costs at approved educational institutions within the state. Eligibility requires at least two years remaining on their contract and the ability to apply before attending Initial Active Duty Training (IADT). NCTAP aims to enhance educational opportunities for military personnel, fostering a well-educated and skilled force.

Revity Federal Credit Union Scholarship Fund

Revity FCU awards two $5,000 scholarships every year to two outstanding high school seniors to help them achieve their college education.

All applications and related information will be reviewed by the Scholarship Review Committee appointed by the Board. 

Additionally, applying for the Revity FCU Scholarship above will also apply you for the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation Scholarship. The CCUF Scholarship is open to anyone seeking higher education in North Carolina or South Carolina.

The NC Patriot STAR Family Scholarship Program, initiated by the Patriot Foundation in 2003, offers financial support to military families in North Carolina. This scholarship, funded by the NC Legislature, is available to children and spouses of fallen or disabled veterans, as well as qualifying disabled veterans. Each semester, recipients may receive approximately $2,000 to assist with educational costs at NC post-secondary institutions, ensuring accessible education for those who serve our country.

The GHSP Community Grants program, managed by the North Carolina Department of Transportation, aims to enhance highway safety. Funding is available for law enforcement, local governments, and nonprofits working to reduce traffic-related incidents. Key focus areas include drunken driving, seat belt safety, and services for young drivers. Eligible organizations must submit a Conflict of Interest policy and certification of no overdue taxes. Note that certain items, such as speed display signs and body cameras, are not eligible for funding.

The Indian Education Formula Grants, funded by the U.S. Department of Education, aim to support the educational needs of American Indian and Alaska Native students. This program assists local educational agencies, tribes, and organizations in meeting state academic standards through various initiatives like after-school programs, tutoring, and enrichment activities. Eligible entities include certain local educational agencies, schools funded by the Bureau of Indian Education, and Indian organizations. Grants aim to supplement regular educational programs.

The North Carolina License to Give Trust Fund offers Fast Track Grants to non-profit organizations for projects under 12 months. Designed to enhance organ and tissue donation awareness and advance care planning, grants up to $10,000 support educational initiatives to improve donation rates in North Carolina. Eligible applicants include various non-profits, such as organ procurement organizations and educational institutions, providing crucial resources to address community health needs.

The ASB Research Award (Professional), offered by the Association of Southeastern Biologists, honors outstanding research by professional members (not students) with a $1000 grant. Applicants must be the primary author of a manuscript published after the last ASB annual meeting and must present their findings at the upcoming annual meeting. The awardee is recognized at the Closing Banquet, emphasizing the importance of attendance. This initiative promotes scientific advancement and networking among biology professionals.

The Education and Workforce Innovation Program Fund aims to enhance educational outcomes by fostering partnerships between schools and local businesses or higher education institutions. This initiative supports schools in preparing students for career and college readiness through innovative programs. Grants of up to $60,000 are available to eligible public school units and regional partnerships. By engaging with community colleges or universities, the program seeks to create meaningful educational experiences that bridge academic learning with real-world applications.

About Hendersonville Woman's Club Scholarship

The scholarship is to be awarded to a student who has financial need; is a Henderson County resident and graduate of a Henderson County school; plans to attend a four-year accredited school in North Carolina; is of good moral character; and has an acceptable grade point average.

This is a renewable scholarship.

The License to Give Trust Fund (LTGTF) Grants-In-Aid program, established by the North Carolina General Assembly, aims to enhance organ and tissue donation through educational initiatives. With approximately $300,000 available annually, grants support non-profit organizations in outreach, multicultural education, and community partnerships. This funding fosters collaboration among various entities, encouraging informed end-of-life decisions and promoting organ donation awareness across North Carolina.

The Career and Technical Education Grade Expansion Program aims to enhance educational opportunities in North Carolina by expanding Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for 6th and 7th graders. Administered by the Education and Workforce Innovation Commission, this initiative provides grants of up to $50,000 to eligible public school units to implement innovative CTE programs, fostering early engagement in vocational education and workforce readiness.

NC 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program

Purpose of Program

The 21st CCLC program is authorized under Title IV, Part B of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). The program provides before and after-school, weekend, and summer school academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low-performing schools to help them meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as reading, mathematics, and science. In addition, programs may provide activities for youth development, drug and violence prevention, art, music, technology, character education, counseling, and recreation to enhance the program's academic components. The program also supports a component for family literacy and community outreach.

Overview

The 21 st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program is authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965 as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to provide federal funds to establish or expand community learning centers that operate during out-of-school hours with three specific purposes:

• Provide opportunities for academic enrichment, including providing tutorial services to help students (particularly students in high poverty areas and those who attend low-performing schools) meet state and local student performance standards in core academic subjects such as reading and mathematics.
• Offer students a broad array of additional services, programs, and activities, such as: youth development activities; service learning; nutrition and health education; drug and violence prevention programs; counseling programs; arts, music, physical fitness and wellness programs; technology education programs; financial literacy programs; environmental literacy programs; mathematics, science, career and technical programs; internship or apprenticeship programs; and other ties to an in-demand industry sector or occupation for high school students that are designed to reinforce and complement the regular academic program of participating students.
• Offer families of students served by 21 st CCLCs opportunities for active and meaningful engagement in their children’s education, including opportunities for literacy and related educational development.

The competitive grant opportunity will be processed through the CCIP system. Grant amounts will range from $50,000 to $500,000 depending on 1) needs identified in the community and schools; 2) scope of the program; 3) proposed number of students served; and 4) program design. Depending on funding availability, grant awards may continue for up to three years (through Summer 2027).

The Governor's Crime Commission Grants, under the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA-STOP), aim to enhance the support and protection for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking. Administered by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, these grants foster community partnerships and effective responses to such crimes, thereby promoting a safer environment for all. The initiative aligns with the Office on Violence Against Women's goals to address these critical issues comprehensively.

The Governor's Crime Commission Grants, under the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), aim to enhance victim assistance programs. This funding prioritizes support for historically marginalized and underserved populations, promoting restoration and healing through targeted services. The Governor's Crime Commission acts as the State Administering Agency, distributing federal and state funds to local agencies and non-profits. Collaboration and evidence-based practices are encouraged to effectively address the needs of crime victims.

The Water & Waste Disposal Loan & Grant Program in North Carolina offers vital funding to support clean drinking water systems, sewage disposal, solid waste management, and stormwater drainage in rural areas. Eligible applicants include governmental entities, private nonprofits, and federally recognized tribes who struggle to access affordable credit. This program aims to enhance public health and environmental quality through improved infrastructure, ensuring that rural communities receive essential services.

The Appalachian Landscapes Project Capital Grant, offered by the Open Space Institute, supports vital conservation initiatives aimed at preserving biodiversity and enhancing landscape connectivity. Established in 1974, the OSI has protected over 2.5 million acres in the Eastern US and Canada, focusing on land that ensures clean drinking water and wildlife habitats. This grant is specifically for projects within the Appalachian Landscapes Project service area, promoting sustainable community benefits.

The Carolina Youth Power Fund, a project of the Carolina Youth Partnership, offers grants of $500-$1,000 to support organizing projects led by youth aged 13-25 in North Carolina. Focused on empowering underrepresented groups, including Black, Muslim, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ youth, the fund prioritizes projects that engage young people in civic issues and community organizing, fostering leadership and skills development for sustainable change.

The Advancing Equity Award

Honors an individual, credit union, business partner, or community non-profit for their commitment to the credit union industry’s 8th Cooperative Principle of DEI. This award recognizes the proactive efforts of people or organizations who cultivate belonging for all through fair and equitable policies, products, programs, and initiatives that enhance the well-being of employees, members, and/or surrounding communities. This award seeks to encourage those who, through committing time and resources to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, live out the cooperative principle to engage everyone in governance, management and representation.

The Recycling Business Development Grants aim to reduce solid waste in North Carolina by encouraging sustainable recovery of materials. This program invites proposals from recycling businesses looking to enhance their operations or start new projects. Funding is primarily for investments in equipment and facilities that improve recycling capacity, helping to divert more materials from landfills into productive use. Eligible projects include collection, processing, and end use of materials in the waste stream.
