ACS Award in Industrial Chemistry

Purpose

To recognize outstanding contributions to chemical research in the industrial context. Significant creative contribution to chemistry in any field of chemical, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical, or biochemical research is appropriate.

The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.

The Arts Alive! Individual Artist Grants, offered by the Weld Community Foundation, support emerging artists in Weld County, enabling them to advance their artistic careers. This initiative encourages projects that enhance cultural experiences and access to the arts in the community. Applicants must be legal residents of Weld County and at least 18 years old, having resided there for a minimum of 12 months. Note that travel expenses are typically not funded.

The Kids Run the Nation Grant Fund, managed by the RRCA, offers financial support to running clubs, schools, and nonprofits that promote inclusive youth running programs. Since 2007, the fund has awarded over $385,000 to 495+ programs, helping more than 198,500 children embrace running. Grants between $500 and $1,000 are available for structured, gender-inclusive programs that meet specific criteria, encouraging healthy lifestyles and regular participation in running activities.

The Open Door Fund, established by the Community Foundation Boulder County, supports LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in Boulder County. With over $2M raised since 1996, the fund addresses challenges like discrimination and mental health struggles within the community. It aims to empower LGBTQ+ people, foster collaboration, and provide support to organizations that serve this community. By promoting inclusivity, the fund strives to enhance the lives of individuals facing systemic challenges.

The OAC Arts Learning: Arts Partnership program, funded by the Ohio Arts Council, supports innovative arts education projects that cater to the unique needs of learners and their communities. By fostering collaboration among partners, this initiative emphasizes comprehensive arts study and leverages arts learning outcomes to enhance educational practices. This grant encourages creativity and community engagement through the arts, ensuring that diverse voices are heard and represented in educational settings.

Scholarships

CFHZ awards over $1 million in scholarships each year for students to attend schools of higher education throughout the nation. Our scholarships are possible thanks to the generosity of donors who invest in our community’s future by furthering the education of others.

All Holland/Zeeland area individuals interested in post-secondary education are encouraged to apply for CFHZ scholarships.

The Foundation proudly administers over 100 scholarships, each with unique eligibility criteria that must be met before a candidate can be considered.

Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 104 Undergraduate Studies Scholarship

• Graduating senior, graduating early college student, or current college student from any school system within the Community Foundation’s service area or the following high schools: Fennville, Hamilton, or Saugatuck
• Enrolling/enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• Financial need, a consideration (encouraged to submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)
• GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Past recipients of this award may reapply.
• Top priority given to students planning to study laenforcement.
• Priority given to the direct descendants (children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc.) of present or past Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 104 members.
• Priority given to children of active duty or retired police officers.

The Big Yellow School Bus program, offered by the Ohio Arts Council, supports school field trips to arts and cultural activities by covering transportation costs. It is designed for public, private, charter, and parochial schools, as well as home-schooled student groups. With grants of up to $500 available, this initiative fosters early arts exposure, enhancing students' educational experiences and creating vital connections with Ohio's creative sector. Applications must be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the event.

The Tocker Foundation, established in 1964, focuses on supporting small, rural Texas libraries with populations under 12,000. Their Newspaper Digitization Grant aims to preserve local historical documents, ensuring that communities retain their heritage. A notable success was the partnership with the Ed and Hazel Richmond Public Library, which digitized old newspapers at risk of being lost due to flooding. Applications for the grant are accepted year-round, reflecting the foundation's commitment to accessible historical preservation.

The Anne Sheehan Political Action Award, offered by the Maine Education Association, recognizes members who have shown exceptional commitment to advocating for public education. Hero Fund America offers grants to EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement Agencies, supporting essential training, education, and equipment needs. Established in 2016, the fund emphasizes mental health and life-saving resources for first responders. With funding requests capped at $2,000 annually, the program is designed to directly benefit eligible 501(c)(3) organizations and government entities. Notably, the fund is backed by unique fundraising events like the Run 4 the Hills and the Hero Fund America Tour.

The Besancon Scholarship at the University of Montana supports graduate students in eligible disciplines such as biological sciences, chemistry, geology, mathematical sciences, and physics. Candidates must be accepted or enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program and nominated by their respective programs. This scholarship fosters academic excellence and innovation, contributing to the university's mission of transformative education and community engagement in Montana.

The Dean's Merit Award at the University of Montana aims to attract exceptional out-of-state graduate students by offering a significant tuition reduction. This prestigious award is part of the university's commitment to academic excellence and diversity. Recipients are chosen based on their outstanding achievements in national and international programs, ensuring they possess the promise to contribute meaningfully to the academic community and beyond. This initiative not only enhances the university's educational environment but also fosters a vibrant cultural exchange.

The Ernest Kleinwort Charitable Trust offers small grants up to £10,000, focusing on reproductive health projects in Africa and Asia. Established in 1963, the trust supports UK-registered charities that demonstrate a clear environmental impact. Applications are accepted year-round, with a review period of approximately 60 days. However, funding is not available for individuals, large national charities, or organizations registered for less than a year. This initiative aims to make a positive difference in reproductive health.

Start-Up Subgrant For the Planning, Implementation, Replication, and Expansion of Charter Schools

Purpose and Background

The PCSGP is a subgrant program funded by the federal Charter Schools Program (CSP). The PCSGP is a discretionary grant program. California was awarded approximately $93 million in grant funds for 2024–29. States that are awarded these federal funds distribute them in subgrants to charter school developers, known as PCSGP Start-Up Subgrants in the state of California, to assist in the development and initial operations of newly established or conversion charter schools as well as to assist in the expansion and replication of high-quality charter schools.

PCSGP Start-Up Subgrants identify funding levels and terms into four subgrant types: Planning, Implementation, Replication, and Expansion. For FY 2025, the CDE has an approved pipeline and budget to award approximately 14 subgrants. The actual number and type of subgrants awarded during each RFA competition may vary based on demand. If all authorized awards are not approved for funding, the CDE may open additional RFA competition events for new applicants until all of the allocated funds have been awarded.

The Thomas L. Barresi Memorial Scholarship was established by the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce in honor and memory of its namesake. It benefits students in Chautauqua County who are pursuing degrees in either business or elementary education.

Recipient must be available to receive award in person or award may be forfeited.

The Helen Roberti Humanities Graduate Scholarship at the University of Montana supports a competitive selection of qualified Native American students pursuing interdisciplinary Ph.D. studies in humanities, focusing on Native American history, culture, or literature. This scholarship includes a three-year academic commitment and a one-year administrative internship at a Native American college, emphasizing the university's dedication to transformative education and community engagement.

The Tessler – Sabbagh Graduate Student Prize Award, administered by the American Institute for Maghrib Studies (AIMS), invites graduate student members to submit papers addressing the Maghrib. Eligible papers must be presented at professional meetings in 2024 and submitted for publication to the Journal of North African Studies. This award honors Professor Mark Tessler and Professor Georges Sabbagh for their significant contributions to AIMS. Winners will be announced at the annual MESA meeting.

The Art Exhibition (Curatorial) Grant Program supports District resident curators in developing visual art exhibitions. This competitive grant provides funding and exhibition space in CAH's galleries and virtual platform. Two proposals will be selected for FY23 exhibitions, with installation and deinstallation scheduled in early 2023. Eligible applicants must be experienced curators residing in the District, while individuals and organizations not meeting these criteria are ineligible. This initiative aims to promote innovative and educational art presentations.

The Helen Roberti Native American Graduate Scholarship Fund at the University of Montana supports Native American students pursuing graduate degrees in fields such as education, law, and health. This fund emphasizes academic excellence, encouraging applicants with a strong academic record or potential. By fostering educational opportunities, the scholarship aims to empower Native American leaders and enhance community engagement, contributing to the cultural and economic vitality of Montana.

The Sappenfield Scholarship at the University of Montana supports Native American graduate students, particularly those majoring in psychology. If no psychology majors are qualified, students from other social sciences such as anthropology and sociology may be considered. The scholarship aims to foster professional achievement and community service while enhancing conditions for Native Americans. This initiative reflects the university's commitment to diversity and academic excellence, making higher education accessible to underrepresented groups.

The Stella Duncan Memorial Fellowship at the University of Montana supports exceptional doctoral candidates in biomedical science. This prestigious stipend recognizes promising scholars dedicated to high-impact research in fields like toxicology and neuroscience. Applicants must submit a research proposal and an advisor's letter of support. The fellowship aims to foster innovation and academic contribution, highlighting awardees as exemplary figures in advancing biomedical discovery and addressing both regional and global health challenges.

The Innovation Ecosystem Program (IEP) offers grants to Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) in Massachusetts, aiming to support early-stage climatetech entrepreneurs. The program features two tracks: Track 1 provides up to $120,000 for programming support, while Track 2 includes the same amount plus access to a fellowship funding pool of up to $900,000. This initiative focuses on enhancing startup programs and advancing research translation into viable climatetech businesses.

The Rebecca & Charles Davis Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, is aimed at supporting students interested in pursuing education or teaching careers from preschool through 12th grade. Eligible candidates must be full-time students at designated Elk Grove high schools and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to those demonstrating financial need, and active participation in school and community activities is required. Scholarships are funded by community donations.

The Equity Action Grants aim to foster social change and support LGBTQ Rhode Islanders by funding projects and capacity-building initiatives. Grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 are awarded annually to nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life within the community. Eligible applicants include all agencies serving LGBTQ needs, ensuring non-discrimination policies are in place. The Rhode Island Community Foundation, a private funder, administers these grants, with decisions typically made within 8-10 weeks.
