Scholarships

The Community Foundation’s Scholarship Program was established in 2000 by generous individuals, families, businesses, and organizations to ensure students can pursue their educational dreams. We administer a variety of scholarships for high school seniors and college students. The program awards more than 65 scholarships totaling over $420,000. All scholarships have individual criteria, deadline and requirements.

San Luis Obispo County Bar Association (SLOCBA) Scholarship

This scholarship was established to broaden the number of traditionally underrepresented groups employed in the legal profession with the goal of providing greater access to, and inclusion in, the legal system.

The Hearst Journalism Awards Program, established in 1960, offers scholarships for exceptional performance in journalism at the collegiate level, with a total of up to $700,000 in awards. This program includes various competitions across writing, photojournalism, audio, television, and multimedia formats. Open to undergraduate journalism majors and minors from accredited institutions, it encourages students to showcase their work and gain recognition in the field of journalism.

The P.B. Dews Lifetime Achievement Award for Research in Behavioral Pharmacology is a biennial honor recognizing outstanding contributions in behavioral pharmacology. Sponsored by the ASPET Division for Behavioral Pharmacology, it celebrates excellence in research and teaching. The award, supported by various esteemed organizations, includes a $1,000 honorarium, a plaque, and partial travel expenses for the recipient to present a special lecture at the ASPET Annual Meeting. GFO-25-303 - Improving Net Load Forecasting Models by Integrating Data on Behind-the-Meter Resources

Purpose

The purpose of this solicitation is to fund research that improves the accuracy and operational value of tools used to forecast Behind-the-Meter (BtM) resources. These improvements will enable grid operators and electricity market participants to more effectively plan their generation reserves, capacity, and real-time operations, supporting a more reliable, efficient, cleaner, and cost-effective energy system for California ratepayers.

The J.H. Woods Early Career Award in Behavioral Pharmacology recognizes outstanding original research by early career investigators in the field. Sponsored by the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics, this annual award includes a $500 honorarium, a commemorative certificate, and up to $750 for travel expenses to the ASPET Annual Meeting. Syringe Service Program Supply Hub NOFO

This funding will support a single grantee in operating and maintaining a Syringe Service Program (SSP) Supply Hub. The grantee will create a catalog of IDPH-approved supplies informed by a statewide needs assessment and the laws governing this work, set up a secure website for IDPH-authorized SSPs in Illinois to request SSP supplies, and establish distribution and monitoring infrastructure to deliver supplies to IDPH-authorized SSPs.

This project is funded by the Illinois General Revenue Funds.

The Syringe Service Program (SSP) Supply Hub is a two-year grant cycle, competitively awarded in year one (1) with the option of one (1) year of non-competitive renewal applications. Total base award is $1,500,000 for the chosen grantee, with the remainder of the total grant distributed to the chosen grantee upon the beginning of the second grant year. Program funds granted must be allocated based on the following areas:

It cannot be used to replace existing security staff but may supplement security needs for events within New Jersey. Eligible public and charter schools in specific counties will receive a total of $20,000 over two years to support the development of innovative educational programs. The Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians offers Community Impact Grants aimed at supporting non-tribal local governmental agencies. These funds are intended to reimburse for actual or potential impacts resulting from class III gaming activities, such as those incurred by police, sheriff, and fire departments. The PLTW Launch - Program Expansion grant aims to support public and charter schools in Georgia seeking to enhance their existing PLTW Launch programs. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is offering grants to schools across the US for the implementation of the PLTW Gateway program in the 2025-2026 academic year. Eligible institutions include public, private, and charter schools, especially those serving low-income and minority populations. The grant covers participation fees and training costs, with a total award of $9,100, distributed over three years.
