Defiance Area Foundation

We are a community of donors committed to making Defiance County a great place to live and call home. We provide a vehicle to serve the philanthropic goals and heritage of the donors of Defiance County through community collaboration, impactful grant making, and financial stewardship.

Through the investment of individual funds made up of gifts, endowed funds, and bequests from individuals and corporations, interest income is distributed as grants. Through these grants to charitable organizations, we are often the first to address new and emerging needs that are most important to our area. Office of Children and Family Services

OCFS is dedicated to improving the integration of services for New York’s children, youth, families and vulnerable populations; to promoting their development; and to protecting them from violence, neglect, abuse and abandonment. The agency provides a system of family support, juvenile justice, youth development, child care and child welfare services that promote the safety and well-being of children and adults. Among the operating principles across all program areas are that services should be developmentally appropriate, family-centered and family-driven, community-based, locally responsive, and evidence and outcome based.

An awardee of AmeriCorps funding recruits and enrolls individuals as AmeriCorps members, who may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. After successful completion of their service terms, AmeriCorps members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award that they can use to pay for higher education expenses or qualified student loans.

FCFP is North Central PA’s most established vehicle for local charitable giving. Our mission is a big one, and our work can seem complex. But ultimately, it comes down to inspiring community giving and investing in community good.

While our efforts are focused in Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, and Union Counties, our work reaches into Bradford, Clinton, Columbia, Potter, Sullivan, and Tioga Counties through scholarships, as well as donors and their geographic area funds.

Organizations must be tax-exempt and operational for at least 36 months, with total revenue between $250,000 and $25 million. The grants range from $75,000 to $100,000, awarded based on a rigorous review process. Applicants are encouraged to attend an information session and must demonstrate their project's transformational potential and sustainability.

The Cherokee Strip Community Foundation, established in 2000, aims to enhance the quality of life in Northwest Oklahoma. With over $32 million in assets, it distributes more than $1 million annually through its Annual Competitive Grants. The foundation prioritizes projects that address community needs, promote collaboration among non-profits, and leverage additional funding. Eligible applicants must be IRS tax-exempt non-profits from the Cherokee Strip Region, with grants typically ranging from $1,000 to $10,000.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is inviting applications for its Annual Fall Grant Competition aimed at nonprofits and community projects in Muskingum County. With a total grant pool of $50,000, five grants of up to $10,000 each will be awarded for capital improvement projects, such as roof repairs and accessibility upgrades. This initiative seeks to enhance the quality of life in the community, encouraging organizations with innovative visions to apply.

The FAA Aviation Research Grants Program invites applications for aviation research grants aimed at supporting innovative research for civil aviation growth. Eligible applicants, primarily colleges and non-profit institutions, can propose studies across various scientific disciplines. The program emphasizes advanced research in areas like air traffic control, communications, and human factors, promoting the development of technologies that enhance safety and efficiency in aviation and commercial space transportation.

The Alta Good Deeds Foundation Grant supports the charitable initiatives of title professionals to enhance their local communities. With a mission focused on community growth and the core values of leadership, delivery, and protection, this grant offers two application windows annually, encouraging various organizations to apply. Eligible applicants include individuals from the land title industry working on behalf of recognized 501(c)(3) organizations, fostering efforts that address housing affordability and community benefits.

The KCF Scholarships - Colleen Deininger Aviation Scholarship Fund offers a one-time scholarship of $2,500 for students from Kenosha and surrounding counties. Eligible applicants include high school seniors enrolling in accredited colleges or universities, specifically those pursuing degrees in aviation-related fields with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
