Best Grants for Performing Arts in Guam

Early mid-career performing artists and scholars in Guam can receive US $40,000 fellowships to dedicate substantial time to new creative or scholarly work. Grants from George A and Eliza Gardner Howard Foundation support writing for performance, choreography, and theatre, dance, and performance studies for individuals living and working in the U.S. or its territories.

Nonprofit performing arts presenters in Guam and other U.S. locations can apply for Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation’s Performing Arts Global Exchange, awarding US $1,500 - US $8,000 to support fees for touring international artists. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations and government or tribal presenters host public performances and community engagements with artists from Portugal and Spain in 2026–27.

Performing arts presenters and community organizations in Guam and the wider Creative West region can receive US $2,000 - US $3,000 to present touring performers and literary artists. Grants from Creative West help cover artist fees, travel, facilities, accessibility, marketing, and related administrative costs for regional touring projects, with priority for smaller and rural organizations.

U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits and fiscally sponsored groups in Guam and other U.S. territories led by and for disabled people can seek funding for collaborative disability justice projects, including performing arts and cultural work. Borealis Philanthropy’s Disability Inclusion Fund supports joint proposals from two or more disability-led organizations with budgets under $3 million, awarding US $75,000 - US $150,000.

About American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF)The American-Scandinavian Foundation (ASF) promotes firsthand exchange of intellectual and creative influence between the United States and the Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. Generally the Community Foundation's scholarships are awarded to applicants who have high financial need. Applicants with household income exceeding $100,000 are less likely to be awarded, but applying will allow you to be considered for targeted scholarships.

Paul Collins Scholarship

Open to undergraduate students who are residents of Kent County who will study visual or performing arts and have a minimum 2.5 GPA.

Kalamazoo Community Foundation is dedicated to creating pathways to higher education so students can thrive in their academic pursuits and for a lifetime. We oversee more than 60 scholarships and education grants (many of which are multiyear awards) for college, graduate school, career training and more.

Dominic & Barbara Court Family Arts Scholarship Fund

This fund was established from the estate of Barbara Court to provide scholarships for students enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program that would lead to a career in the arts.

Multiyear Award; Renews Annually

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Some of the funds help students from a particular school or area; others provide financial assistance to those pursuing a specific field of study; still others assist students that are most in need. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds. 

Scholarships are provided for one academic year and are not automatically renewed each year. You can reapply to our program every year you are going to attend college, and the application you submit that year will be considered for all scholarships for which you are eligible.

Edward A. and Shirley B. Livi Scholarship Fund

To support residents of Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire Counties who are pursuing fine or performing arts beyond their college freshman year.

Additional Guidelines

• Students can receive up to $3,000 in scholarships from the Community Foundation.
• Scholarship awards could impact the financial aid offered by a college, and students are advised to check with their college financial aid offices about this.
• Scholarships may be used to offset tuition, fees, room and board, and other items included as part of the cost for attending the institution. Some part and/or all the award could be considered taxable income. It is advisable students check with the college or tax accountant regarding this matter.

The Pittsburgh Foundation

Scholarships

The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County provide scholarship opportunities for local students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four-year universities and career/technical schools.

Elaine Sirkin Forbes Scholarship Fund

The Elaine Sirkin Forbes Scholarship Fund was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide scholarships for high school seniors graduating from Allegheny County Schools who wish to major in visual, performance or media art.

The Columbus Foundation

In 1943, during the darkness of World War II, a group of passionate citizens, led by Columbus businessman Harrison M. Craig Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was established by the family of John E. Craig, Jr. and Larry William Craig. Both John and Larry were extremely gifted musicians. John was a noted musician in the central Ohio community, studying at the Berklee College of Music in Boston at the time of his death. A well-known musician and businessman, Larry excelled at playing the piano and worked with his father in Craig & Sons Wrecking Company. This scholarship fund will provide support to students who are pursuing careers in musical arts, theatre or drama.

Performing arts students can access funding through this Columbus Foundation scholarship, which supports study in music, music performance, or the arts. Graduating high school seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA who plan to attend a U.S. post-secondary institution may be eligible; awards are US $1,000 and could benefit Guam-based students meeting these criteria.

Current or former Oregon Shakespeare Festival employees facing unexpected financial hardship can apply for the Hunter Brown Emergency Assistance Fund to cover basic living expenses like housing, utilities, and health care. Administered by the Entertainment Community Fund, this emergency support may benefit performing arts professionals, including those from Guam, who meet the employment and crisis criteria.

U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofits producing free outdoor music festivals can receive up to US $5,000 to support performing arts programming. Focused on community-building through live music, the Mortimer and Mimi Levitt Foundation invites organizations, including those serving Guam, to activate underused outdoor spaces with inclusive, no-cost festivals in 2026.

Students pursuing aviation, art education, or fine and performing arts can receive higher education funding through the Melvin L. and Frances E. Tolson Scholarship Trust Fund, with awards of more than US $500. Stark Community Foundation supports eligible residents of Carroll County, Ohio studying at colleges, universities, technical, or vocational schools; Guam performing arts students may not qualify geographically.

Students pursuing higher education in performing arts, visual arts, or related fields can apply for the O'Shea Patrick McCarthy Scholarship, a US $1,000 award, through Legacy Foundation. While based in Lake County, Indiana, eligible full-time students from Guam attending accredited 2- or 4-year institutions may benefit from this academic scholarship support.

Guam performing arts students who are American Indian or Alaska Native can access funding for vocational, undergraduate, or graduate study in the U.S. through the Hillman Barnett Adkins Endowed Fund Scholarship. Administered by Native Forward Scholars Fund, this merit-based award supports fields like music, drama, dance, film, creative writing, fine arts, photography, culinary arts, and fashion or jewelry design.

American Indian and Alaska Native female graduate students in the arts can receive need-based scholarships for full-time study at accredited institutions in the U.S., including Guam. Native Forward Scholars Fund supports fine, visual, media, and performing arts, as well as literary arts, creative writing, and poetry, with awards from US $100 - US $30,000.

Performing arts nonprofits and eligible music organizations in Guam can seek project funding for contemporary American concert music and jazz initiatives, including performances, recordings, and related programs. Aaron Copland Fund for Music offers US $2,000 - US $20,000 for discrete projects that enhance public knowledge and appreciation of recent American concert music and jazz.

Performing arts nonprofits and fiscally sponsored organizations in Guam presenting contemporary American concert music or jazz can seek general operating support through this program. Grants from Aaron Copland Fund for Music help ensembles, presenters, festivals, record companies, and music service organizations access US $2,000 - US $20,000 for performances, recordings, live streams, residencies, archives, and related professional programs.

Graduating high school seniors and college students pursuing visual or performing arts degrees can access funding through Crown Point Community Foundation’s Burrell Family Scholarship. South Lake County residents, including those from Guam studying in the U.S., may be eligible. Awards support higher education in the arts and are non-renewable.

Graduating high school seniors involved in theatre who are pursuing performing arts or other postsecondary studies can receive scholarship support for higher education; awards are administered nationally. Crown Point Community Foundation supports performing arts students through the Marion Kellum Performing Arts Scholarship, using one application to determine eligibility for this and many related opportunities.

Students pursuing degrees in performing arts, design, architecture, fine art, or construction management can receive scholarship support for higher education through the Walter Blackburn Scholarship, open to residents of Marion County. With a mission to build opportunity, Central Indiana Community Foundation helps cover tuition and other educational expenses; Guam performing arts students with Indiana ties may be eligible.

High school seniors and college students pursuing performing arts degrees who reside in Beaufort County can apply for the Sarah Creech Performing Arts Scholarship, supporting post-secondary education. Though based in South Carolina, this Community Foundation of the Lowcountry opportunity may benefit Guam performing arts students with ties to Beaufort County meeting the GPA and residency requirements.

Graduating high school seniors in Smith County active in performing or visual arts and planning to major in those fields can receive the Partners in Arts Scholarship to support college costs. Focused on performing arts, East Texas Communities Foundation invites eligible students, including homeschoolers meeting criteria, to apply for this one-year, US $1,000 award usable at any U.S. college.

Graduating high school seniors from Smith County pursuing music or performing arts studies can apply for the R. Don Cowan Music & Performing Arts Scholarship, awarding US $5,000 for college expenses. Administered by East Texas Communities Foundation, funds may be used at any U.S. college for tuition, fees, room and board, books, and supplies.

The John Lennon Endowed Scholarship, established by Yoko Ono to honor John Lennon, supports students attending UNCF member institutions. This initiative addresses financial need and promotes education among African American youth. With over $65 million awarded annually, UNCF empowers thousands of students, advocating for minority education and community engagement. Eligible applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, complete a FAFSA, and demonstrate unmet financial need. This scholarship plays a crucial role in fostering future leaders.
