Best Women & Girls Services Grants

The Foundation awards scholarships to high school seniors in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties, who are planning to attend a college, university, or trade school. There is one scholarship that is available to students in Cecil County. 

Talbot Democratic Women's Club Scholarship

Awarded to female minority students, graduating from Talbot County Public Schools.

The SWE Golden Gate Section (SWE-GGS) Scholarships provide financial support ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 for Bay Area students planning to pursue engineering or related degrees. Open to high school seniors and community college students entering college in Fall 2026, applicants must identify as women or other underrepresented genders and reside within the Golden Gate Section boundaries. The application period starts on December 1, 2025, encouraging diverse candidates to apply.

The SWE–OC Endowed Student Scholarship, established by the Society of Women Engineers Orange County Section, provides a $1,250 award to support women pursuing engineering degrees at California universities. Launched in 2021, it recognizes academic excellence, work experience, community involvement, and leadership potential. Eligible applicants must identify as female, be high school seniors in the Orange County area, and maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship recipients will be honored at the SWE-OC Professional Development Conference in May.

The SWE–OC Graduate Student Scholarship, awarded by the Society of Women Engineers, supports female graduate students pursuing engineering degrees at accredited California universities. Established in 2021, it aims to empower women in engineering by providing $800 to eligible candidates. Selection criteria include academic performance, community involvement, and leadership potential. Recipients will be honored at the SWE-OC Professional Development Conference in May, fostering a supportive network for future engineers.

Female undergraduate engineering and computer science students in the Orange County, California area can apply for the SWE–OC Undergraduate Student Scholarship, awarding US $1,250 for tuition support. Offered by the Society of Women Engineers, it supports rising juniors and seniors and may benefit women and girls pursuing STEM education and leadership development.

Female junior or senior college students in engineering within specified Iowa and Illinois ZIP codes can receive more than US $1,000 to pursue a BS at an ABET-accredited school. Focused on women and girls in STEM, Society of Women Engineers’ Quad Cities Section Scholarship also requires SWE membership or joining the following school year.

Women-identifying students entering engineering or computer science who live or attend high school in the Richmond, Virginia area can receive US $1,000 in scholarship support for ABET-accredited bachelor’s programs. Society of Women Engineers supports women and girl services nationwide by helping future female engineers and technologists access higher education opportunities.

Early-career women engineers in the U.S. who are current SWE members can access leadership development support through the Ignite Leadership Program, a virtual cohort experience each fall. Society of Women Engineers helps participants build leadership competencies, create individualized growth plans, and strengthen the pipeline of women leaders in engineering and technology.

Women engineering and STEM students at eligible universities in the greater Philadelphia and Harrisburg areas can apply for Society of Women Engineers Philadelphia Section scholarships, awarding US $1,000 - US $2,000 for tuition support. These academic scholarships may benefit women and girls pursuing degrees in engineering, computer science, cybersecurity, and related technical fields.

Female-identifying undergraduate and graduate students in ABET-accredited engineering, computer science, or engineering technology programs in San Diego County can receive continuing scholarships supporting their STEM education. With a mission to advance women in engineering, Society of Women Engineers provides these awards, and international students meeting all requirements may also be eligible.

Women students in ABET-accredited engineering, computing, or engineering technology programs in Colorado or Wyoming can receive scholarship support to continue their undergraduate or graduate studies. With a mission to advance women in technical fields, Society of Women Engineers offers more than US $1,000 to eligible applicants maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher.

Female undergraduate engineering students in the Sacramento Valley area can receive US $500 - US $1,500 to support their STEM studies through this memorial scholarship. Focused on engineering education, Society of Women Engineers invites eligible women and girls pursuing ABET-accredited degrees in the listed California counties to apply for tuition and college success support.

Female high school, college, and graduate students pursuing full-time accredited engineering or computer science degrees in select California counties can receive scholarship support for their studies. Society of Women Engineers Santa Clara Valley Section awards approximately US $15,000 annually, which may benefit women and girls services efforts in STEM education and college success.

Female undergraduate engineering students at specified ABET-accredited four-year colleges in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula can receive more than US $1,000 for tuition, fees, books, or similar expenses. Focused on supporting women and girls in STEM, the Society of Women Engineers Wisconsin Section invites eligible students to apply for the Martha Maxwell Memorial Scholarship.

Women pursuing first-year engineering or computer science bachelor’s degrees can access scholarship funding through the Society of Women Engineers if they live within the SWE Hartford section area. This US $2,000 tuition award supports women and girls’ educational advancement in specified counties of Connecticut and Massachusetts for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Maine high school senior girls planning to study engineering or engineering technology at an accredited college can apply for the Society of Women Engineers’ Maine SWE Scholarship, awarding more than US $1,000. This scholarship supports young women pursuing engineering careers and may benefit organizations assisting college-bound girls in Maine.

Kitsap Peninsula nonprofit organizations serving women and/or children can request US $2,500 - US $10,000 to support community programs through the Women’s Giving Circle. Kitsap Community Foundation welcomes both small and large 501(c)(3) organizations, including eligible faith-based social service, youth, or community programs, that benefit women and girls in Kitsap County and North Mason County.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving women and girls in Northwest Philadelphia can seek funding to address food insecurity, healthy aging, and women’s and children’s health. Focused on community health equity, Foundation for Health Equity invites programs that combine direct services with systems-change efforts for women and girls in these neighborhoods.

North Dakota 501(c)(3) nonprofits, municipal entities, and school systems focused on maternal and perinatal health can apply for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation’s Maternal Health Grants, awarding US $5,000 for program support. Eligible projects may include prenatal care, lactation support, postpartum mental health care, and related services for women and families.

Organizations serving women and girls in Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott can apply for Main Street Community Foundation’s Women & Girls’ Fund to support programs and related capital needs. Funding prioritizes services for senior women, confidence and leadership development for girls, and non-clinical mental health and well-being initiatives, including collaborative projects.

U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving women, girls, children, or animals can seek funding to strengthen families, improve health and welfare, and promote human–animal interactions. Grants from Jennie K Scaife Charitable Foundation also support women’s and children’s safety and early intervention and prevention efforts around drug and alcohol addiction.

Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky tax-exempt nonprofits serving women and girls through human services, education, arts, or community initiatives can access funding via the Carol and Ralph Haile Jr Foundation. Eligible organizations must operate in the foundation’s 10-county region and align with its priorities in women’s services, housing, workforce readiness, and related community needs.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations supporting women, girls, and children can seek project funding for health, education, food, shelter, and related services, with a strong preference for the Greater St. Louis area. Focused on community development, women and health, and related priorities, the Crawford Taylor Foundation funds U.S. programs on a one-year, project-specific basis.

Nonprofit organizations serving women and girls in southwest Iowa can seek funding for programs that promote aging in place, affordable childcare, education, and women’s health and safety. Community Foundation for Western Iowa supports initiatives that help women become more self-sufficient, thrive in their communities, and improve well-being for themselves and their families.

The Kenosha Community Foundation offers Field of Interest Grants to support various philanthropic interests through specific funds. These grants assist local non-profit organizations in enhancing community welfare, arts, education, and services for vulnerable populations. Funds like the ANVK Field of Interest Endowment support elderly residents, while the Kenosha Arts Fund enhances cultural life. The Foundation's responsive grant-making adapts to community needs, ensuring impactful contributions to enhance quality of life across Kenosha.

The Women’s Fund Grant, initiated by the Austin Community Foundation in 2004, has become a significant driver of change for women and children in Central Texas. With over $4 million granted to more than 100 nonprofits, it aims to address critical issues such as housing, child care, education, unintended pregnancy prevention, and women's health. In 2024, the Fund will celebrate its 20th anniversary and continue its mission of empowering communities through strategic funding and collaboration.

The Carolyn Adams Ticket for the Cure Community Outreach Grant aims to enhance breast cancer awareness and education through outreach programs in Illinois. Funded by the Illinois Department of Public Health, this initiative supports organizations conducting activities to promote equity in breast cancer outcomes, focusing on underserved populations. Key goals include increasing knowledge about breast health and facilitating access to screening and support services, ultimately improving health outcomes for women and men affected by breast cancer.
