Best Community Health Grants in Maine

The Express Health Information Outreach Awards aim to enhance public health by increasing access to biomedical information for U.S. health professionals and the general public. The Betterment Fund Grant provides financial support ranging from $10,000 to $35,000 annually, aimed at enhancing education, health, conservation, and community support in Maine. The fund prioritizes systemic community initiatives that address essential human needs while favoring projects with a proven track record in grant management. Special attention is given to projects in the Western Mountains region, although broader applications that meet their criteria may also be considered.

River Rock Shared Future Fund

Purpose

The River Rock Shared Future Fund’s long-term goal is achieving greater racial equity by increasing economic opportunities, education levels and health and wellness in communities of color in Maine.

Types of Funding

Two-year general support grants for flexible funding of any type such as new/expanding/ongoing programs and operational needs including capital expenses. Your organization’s primary work must meet the River Rock Shared Future Fund criteria listed below.

Multi-year grantees will be selected every two years.

The Maine Women's Fund (MWF) Grant, administered by the Maine Community Foundation, supports organizations dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in Maine. With funding of up to $15,000 per year, grants are available for general support of programs that promote financial literacy, health education, leadership development, and policy advocacy. Organizations must be located in Maine and engage women and girls as primary beneficiaries. Applications will be accepted in 2025 and 2027.
