In 2018, to recognize Berenice's passion for education and her secret sponsorship of students attending KCC, a scholarship was added to support students attending Kellogg Community College in the professional trades and nursing.

This scholarship has been made possible by the generosity of the family and friends of Maureen Linck, who established the Maureen Linck Scholarship of the Community Foundation for Muskegon County in memory of Maureen. In 1985, at 15, Maureen was involved in an automobile accident. As a result of the accident and her illness-related difficulties, Maureen lapsed into a coma and died six weeks later.
