Now to honor her accomplishment and the accomplishments of modern heroines, the NRA bestows the prestigious Sybil Ludington Women’s Freedom Award in her name.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking to enhance the Strategies to Innovate EmeRgENcy Care Clinical Trials Network (SIREN) through the establishment of a Clinical Coordinating Center (CCC) and Data Coordinating Center (DCC). This initiative aims to improve emergency care outcomes by supporting trials that focus on effective treatments for non-stroke neurological and cardiovascular emergencies. Although applications are not currently being solicited, this notice allows potential applicants to prepare collaborative proposals.

This grant offers a one-time $20,000 unrestricted funding along with pro-bono capacity building support. The Value Assessment and Health Outcomes Research Postdoctoral Fellowship, funded by the PhRMA Foundation, offers a $60,000 stipend annually for up to two years. This fellowship supports researchers, both U.S. and non-U.S. citizens, engaged in innovative studies aimed at evaluating the effectiveness and value of healthcare interventions. Applicants must be within five years of postdoctoral study and hold a relevant doctoral degree. This opportunity fosters collaboration and patient engagement in health outcomes research.

The Value Assessment and Health Outcomes Research Predoctoral Fellowship, offered by the PhRMA Foundation, supports promising students in their advanced training and thesis research. This fellowship, aimed at U.S. and non-U.S. citizens, provides $30,000 in annual stipend support for up to two years. It encourages research proposals that address the effectiveness, safety, and value of healthcare interventions, emphasizing patient engagement and health equity in the evaluation process.

The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region

The Community Foundation is a devoted advocate for the vitality and well-being of the Rappahannock River Region. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that manages and distributes charitable giving in the counties of Stafford, Spotsylvania, King George, and Caroline, and the City of Fredericksburg.

Scholarships

One of The Community Foundation’s strategies for preserving and growing the quality of life in our region is supporting higher education for area students. Generous individuals and families, companies and organizations establish endowed scholarship funds and the proceeds from these funds benefit deserving students. Donors work with foundation staff to determine appropriate criteria for each fund. The Community Foundation currently administers more than fifty scholarship funds.

The Mary E. Berger Scholarship Fund

The Mary E. Berger Scholarship was established with a gift from Mary E. Berger and a future gift by the estate of Mary E. Berger to assist high school students who wish to attend college or university or professional school to pursue studies in art, music, history, political science, English, journalism and related liberal arts subject.

The Tuttleman Foundation, established in Philadelphia in 2003, provides grants ranging from $1,000 to $250,000 to 501c3 organizations. Guided by the legacy of Stanley and Edna Tuttleman, the foundation focuses on areas such as education, community building, health care, arts and museums, basic human services, and spirituality. The Food Allergy Fund is the leading nonprofit dedicated to funding food allergy research. FAF's grants support the creation of new treatments that will address the root causes of food allergies. Through our ground-breaking research and unique thought leadership summits, we accelerate innovation to find solutions.

Food Allergy Fund Drug Repurposing Program

Grants will be awarded to research teams that propose innovative approaches to repurposing therapeutics for the prevention or treatment of food allergy. We would welcome proposals identifying either an existing FDA-approved drug or drug in development with human safety data that has a rationale for the prevention of food allergies, prevention or treatment of food induced anaphylaxis, or an improved method for maintaining food allergic tolerance in previously allergic patients.

We are particularly interested in either small molecule drugs or biologicals that have well defined mechanisms of action that provide a scientific rationale for use in food allergies. Examples could involve drugs such as enzyme inhibitors or immunomodulators with specific activities that lend themselves to alter intestinal, mucosal or immune function.
