Hugh Hastings Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship supports Montana residents with sophomore status who are pursuing a degree from either the College of Agriculture or the College of Arts and Architecture, alternating by year. Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA. Award amounts vary, and the scholarship falls under the Agriculture and Arts and Architecture scopes.

Leadership Opportunities

Leadership Opportunities give Bank of Montana employees the opportunity to be community stewards. Bank of Montana relies on staff leadership to recommend funding based on the needs of their communities. From there, Bank of Montana donates to community projects and activities. Leadership Funding Opportunities are evaluated based on the nonprofits’ organizational background, community benefit and support, and the strength of the nonprofits’ leadership and financial stability.

Community Development 

Community Development Funds are awarded to nonprofit organizations that provide services to low-and moderate- income (LMI) individuals and communities across our territory. Bank of Montana’s CRA committee works together with those nonprofits toward the salient goal of community development. We provide expertise and resources to affordable housing projects, services targeted to LMI individuals, activities that revitalize or stabilize LMI geographies, and activities that promote economic development.

The JFLA Mini Grant for Japanese Arts & Culture Program supports projects aimed at enhancing the understanding of Japanese arts and culture. Grants of up to $5,000 are available for qualifying nonprofit organizations. Eligible projects must occur in the 13 states west of the Rocky Mountains and focus on fostering U.S.-Japan collaborations through various artistic mediums. Notably, applicants must be designated 501(c)(3) organizations and adhere to specific funding guidelines.

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) administered by the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) aims to enhance outdoor recreation by providing funds for the development and maintenance of recreational trails. These grants provide salary subsidies and operational funding to ordained, religious, and lay ministers, ensuring access to Catholic services. Prioritizing areas with significant financial need, this initiative seeks to sustain the church's presence where it is most critical, enabling continued ministry and outreach for those who may otherwise be underserved.

The Building Leaders Grants by Catholic Extension aim to enhance the recruitment, education, and ongoing formation of church leaders.
