Search Through Community Health Grants in North Dakota

With a mission to support diverse nonprofits in the U.S., the Foundation allocates approximately 15% of its total funding to social services, prioritizing scalable programs that serve significant populations. The minimum grant size is $100,000, and special consideration is given to organizations addressing affordable housing, domestic violence, and youth development.

The Labcorp Charitable Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) entity, aims to enhance healthcare access and education for all. With grant opportunities focusing on food programs, healthcare services for underserved populations, and STEM initiatives, it seeks to support community health and well-being. Organizations eligible for funding must be U.S.-based and hold tax-exempt status. Requests are reviewed biannually, in March and September, to foster impactful community projects.

The North Dakota Civil Money Penalty (CMP) Funds program supports applications for the reinvestment of CMP funds aimed at enhancing the quality of care and life for nursing home residents. Eligible organizations include consumer advocacy groups, nursing home associations, and state agencies. Funds can be used for resident support, facility improvements, and community-based relocations. However, they cannot be utilized for compliance issues or exceed three years in duration, ensuring focused and effective use of resources.

The PFund Foundation offers a Sponsorship Fund for events primarily serving LGBTQ+ communities in the upper Midwest. With sponsorship amounts ranging from $500 to $1,000, organizations can apply once per calendar year. Applications must be submitted at least 60 days prior to the event and include information on the event's impact and how funds will be used. Wells Fargo Community Giving supports nonprofit organizations focusing on financial health, housing affordability, small business growth, and sustainability. The grant cycle runs from February to October, inviting organizations with 501(c)(3) status or equivalent to apply. Funding is prioritized for programs addressing critical community needs, while limited support is available for local initiatives like disaster relief and arts. Organizations must demonstrate fiscal stability and potential impact to be considered for funding.

The AmeriCorps State Formula Fund Grant in North Dakota supports programs that recruit, train, and supervise AmeriCorps members to address vital community issues. The Robinson Foundation Grant, established in 2016, aims to alleviate hardships faced by individuals and communities, demonstrating God's love through charitable contributions. As a family-operated foundation, it focuses on creating meaningful, long-term impacts in various areas including animal welfare, education, and disaster relief. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501(c)(3) public charities. The foundation prioritizes fiscally responsible projects with the potential for tangible results, while not supporting capital projects.

National Housing Innovation Grant Competition

Home is foundational. It’s where we plant roots, raise and care for our families, and build community bonds. Yet in every corner of the country, millions of people of all ages and backgrounds need a home they can afford.

Wells Fargo is meeting this moment with a powerful grant opportunity. Together with Enterprise, Wells Fargo has launched the third iteration of the Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge. The 2026 cycle of the housing innovation competition will identify and propel proven, ready-to-scale solutions that transform current practices and increase housing choice and access.

Eligible applicants will compete for five individual grants of $2 million to advance their innovation and drive meaningful, systems-level change in the housing and adjacent industries. Winners will gain access to mentorship and coaching from industry leaders and experts and join a powerful network of Breakthrough Challenge innovators.

Focus Areas

This third cycle of the Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge aims to meet the nation’s affordable housing challenges across all types of communities: Native, rural, suburban, tribal, and urban.

Proposals must encompass one or more of three focus areas:

• Design and Construction
• Finance
• Service Delivery and Programs

Applicants will be asked to show how their proof of concept or pilot program has achieved clear outcomes and success, and provide a clear pathway to expanding the innovation’s reach and impact

Priority scoring will be given to applications from entities that are based in – or whose innovations are designed for – one or more of these 28 states, plus D.C.:

Affordability

Innovations must serve residents at these income levels:

• Rental: 80% AMI or below
• Homeownership: 120% AMI or below
• Workforce housing: 120% AMI or below

Project Apis m. is dedicated to enhancing honey bee health and crop production through research funding. With over $10 million allocated since 2006, the organization supports innovative projects addressing bee health, nutrition, and pest management. Proposals are confidential and evaluated based on their scientific rigor and relevance to industry needs. Funding ranges from $5,000 to $200,000, with a focus on sustainable solutions that benefit beekeepers and agriculture in North America.

The Tom and Frances Leach Foundation is dedicated to fostering healthy, thriving communities by awarding grants to nonprofit organizations. Their focus areas include education, health, human services, and arts & humanities, particularly in the Bismarck-Mandan and Western North Dakota regions. The foundation aims to support initiatives that promote educational opportunities, enhance healthcare access, improve quality of life, and preserve artistic endeavors, ensuring transformative impacts on local populations.

The Sheyenne Valley Community Foundation, established in 2013, aims to inspire local nonprofits to address critical community needs across Barnes, Griggs, and Ransom Counties. By providing Community Grants, the foundation supports projects focused on Basic Human Needs, Education, Arts, Community Building, and more. It encourages collaborative efforts and realistic planning to maximize impact, ensuring that the spirit of giving thrives and benefits the Sheyenne River Valley Community.

The BCBSND Health Innovation Grants support innovative projects aimed at improving health outcomes in North Dakota. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, municipal entities, or school systems. Projects may focus on expanding access to fresh foods, behavioral health services, or recovery education programs. The grants are not intended for existing programs or operational costs, and restrictions apply to funding for employee positions and capital campaigns. Successful proposals should demonstrate replicable models for community health improvement.

The Otter Tail Corporation Foundation Grant Program focuses on supporting 501(c)(3) organizations in communities across Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota. Priorities include early childhood education, health services for families in need, community development, and environmental sustainability. While the 2025 budget is fully allocated, they encourage applications for 2026, emphasizing collaborative projects that create measurable impacts.

The R-COOL-Health Scrubs Camp Grant Program, initiated by the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota, aims to enhance awareness and interest in health careers among rural students in grades 5-12. With funding up to $25,000 available, the program emphasizes creative, interactive learning experiences. The grant application deadline is August 15, 2024, for projects running from September 3, 2024, to April 30, 2025, promoting collaboration between educational and healthcare entities in North Dakota.

St. Joseph's Community Health Foundation Grant supports initiatives that enhance the mental, physical, and spiritual well-being of residents in Northcentral North Dakota. Established by the Sisters of St. Francis in 1914, the foundation emphasizes sustainable community health through financial gifts and collaborative efforts. Eligible applicants include non-profits and governmental organizations, ensuring impactful projects across counties such as Bottineau, Burke, and McLean. The foundation aims to foster healthier communities while promoting voluntary financial support.

The Alex Stern Family Foundation Grant provides funding to nonprofits in the Fargo-Moorhead area, focusing on arts, education, social welfare, youth recreation, civic projects, and health issues. Established by Alex Stern, a notable community figure, the foundation aims to support initiatives that enhance the local quality of life. Organizations seeking assistance should confirm their eligibility with the Program Manager before applying, ensuring alignment with the foundation's mission.

The Bayer Fund Health & Wellness Grant Program aims to support organizations that provide education and resources for patients and caregivers facing cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Grants focus on assisting communities, particularly the African American population, in managing these health issues. Funding covers educational services, disease awareness, and access to care, with all activities to commence post-funding decisions. Eligible organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) status and operate within 55 miles of Bayer sites.

The GIG Fund: Arts and Wellness offers grants ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to support projects that blend arts and wellness. Open to non-profit organizations, hospitals, and clinics across the Midwest, this fund aims to enhance community well-being through artistic initiatives. Eligible applicants must engage professional artists and provide activities that promote health and creativity. This funding round supports activities occurring between December 1, 2025, and June 30, 2026, emphasizing the importance of arts in fostering wellness.

The Community Facilities Grant Program in North Dakota supports rural development by providing essential funding for community facilities. Eligible areas include rural communities with populations under 20,000. The program prioritizes projects that serve low-income areas and offers varying grant assistance based on the community's income level. Funding can be used for construction, equipment purchases, and project expenses, ensuring that vital services such as healthcare, education, and public safety are accessible to rural residents.

The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota Caring Foundation's Building Healthier Rural Community (BUILD) Grants Program aims to enhance the health and well-being of rural communities in North Dakota. Focusing on economic stability, education access, healthcare quality, and community context, the program seeks to fund six to eight grants ranging from $5,000 to $7,500. The ND 2025-26 AmeriCorps Formula Fund supports community service initiatives through grants provided by the North Dakota Department of Commerce. Eligible organizations, including nonprofits and government entities, can apply for funding to enhance civic engagement in areas like education and disaster services. Participants may receive benefits such as living allowances and education awards, with a required grantee match that escalates over time, fostering long-term community investment.
