Red Oak Community School Scholarship

The scholarship program is designed for students who are enrolled at Red Oak Community School (ROCS), a tuition-based elementary school serving K-5 students across central Ohio. The scholarship program was created by and for the families who make up the ROCS community. It is funded through various independent, community-led fundraising efforts throughout the school year and is meant to lower financial hurdles to enrollment.

VCA Charities offers the Ready for Rescue Grants to support animal welfare organizations in preparing pets for adoption. The Welcome Back Scholarship Program, initiated by The Community Foundation for Crawford County, aims to retain college graduates by providing financial support to those who return home and contribute to their community. This reverse scholarship targets graduates with student debt, incentivizing them to live and work in Crawford County after completing their education. The Samuel Neff Fellowship for International Study Scholarship supports Crawford County, Ohio high school seniors and graduates pursuing educational experiences abroad. Established by The Community Foundation for Crawford County, it honors Samuel Neff's legacy of global engagement. Preference is given to Bucyrus students demonstrating financial need and those traveling outside Western Europe. This scholarship encourages recipients to share their international experiences, fostering a spirit of community and cultural exchange.

National Association for Plant Breeding

We are the culmination of a grass roots effort by plant breeders from around the USA to engender support for the work of plant breeders and to raise public awareness for the important work of plant breeders. We are led by an all-volunteer team nominated and elected by the membership.

The NAPB has a diverse membership of public and private sector scientists working to improve a wide variety of plants and graduate students working towards advanced degrees in plant breeding. We meet annually during the summer months enabling field tours to walk among the plants that our hosts are working to improve.

The National Association for Plant Breeding was formed as an organization to advance excellence in research, education and outreach in the field of plant improvement. 

NAPB Borlaug Graduate Scholars

The Borlaug Scholars program for graduate students was established by the National Association of Plant Breeders (NAPB) and funded through the Agronomic Science Foundation (ASF). Our aim is to develop the next generation of plant breeding leaders. Students attending U.S. universities looking to enter the workforce in less than two years are encouraged to apply. Self-nominations are encouraged. Borlaug Scholars will be paired with volunteer mentors who are professional NAPB members committeed to the professional development of the recipients. Each recipient will receive financial support for travel, lodging, and meals to participate in the NAPB Annual Meeting (or similar, if virtual meetings). Gratis meeting registration and student membership in NAPB, for non-members, is included.

The John A. Kilpatrick Memorial Scholarship, established in 2016 by the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry, supports qualified recipients pursuing post-secondary education. This scholarship is specifically for current or former members of the U.S. Marine Corps who have been stationed at Parris Island, SC, with a preference for applicants who have lived in New Jersey. The foundation has dedicated over $125 million to enhance the Lowcountry community since its inception.

About The Foundation

The Coshocton Foundation was created in 1967 through a $685,000 bequest from Adolph Golden, a prominent Coshocton merchant and harness racing enthusiast. The foundation originally was a single fund from which all grants were made.

In 1989, the late Edward and Frances Montgomery gave broader giving a significant boost by establishing a challenge fund that would match gifts to the Foundation’s unrestricted fund. The fund was set up to match a maximum of $500,000 over a period of ten years. 

The SCF The Women's Fund Grant, established in 2006 by visionary women, aims to enhance the lives of women and children in Stark County. Dr. and Mrs. William A. Weathers and Betty B. Wyatt Memorial Scholarship

Annual, renewable scholarship created by Pike Central High School in memory of its former teacher, counselor and prin­cipal, Dr. William A. Weathers, his wife, and their friend Mrs. Betty B. Wyatt. Dr. William A. Weathers was born in Petersburg on October 14, 1912, and was a 1930 graduate of Petersburg High School and a 1934 graduate of Oakland City College. He spent his entire 42-year career in education at Peters­burg High School and Pike Central High School and was active in civic and community affairs. Dr. Weathers retired from education in 1977 but remained involved with Pike County youth until his death in December 1998. Betty B. Wyatt was a teacher for more than 40 years. She and Dr. Weathers worked together as educators for many years. They were both members of the Petersburg Main Street Presbyterian Church, and they were friends.
