Scholarships

CFHZ awards over $1 million in scholarships each year for students to attend schools of higher education throughout the nation. Our scholarships are possible thanks to the generosity of donors who invest in our community’s future by furthering the education of others.

All Holland/Zeeland area individuals interested in post-secondary education are encouraged to apply for CFHZ scholarships.

The Foundation proudly administers over 100 scholarships, each with unique eligibility criteria that must be met before a candidate can be considered.

Kaminski Family Scholarship

• Graduating senior who attends public, private, or home school in the primary service area of the Community Foundation
• Enrolling in a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited post-secondary school (including vocational/technical school) within the United States
• Financial need (must submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)

The Corley and Melodie Thomas Scholarship Fund, established by the Muskingum County Community Foundation, aims to support high school seniors and college students from Muskingum County with financial needs. Eligible applicants must have a GPA between 2.5 and 3.5, demonstrate community service involvement, and have a minimum ACT score of 22. This scholarship can be applied to any major at accredited institutions, fostering educational opportunities and personal growth.

William W. Weil Good Citizen Scholarship

William W. Weil was born and raised in Greenfield, Indiana. After serving in the Korean War as an Aviation Engineer, he returned to Greenfield and became a respected local businessman as manager of the Broadway Lumber Company and the Weil Theatre. Bill was best known as a member of the Greenfield Banking Company Board of Directors for over 53 years. This scholarship was established to reward good citizenship.

The Leasure Family Scholarship, administered by the Muskingum County Community Foundation, supports educators from Zanesville or Muskingum County pursuing graduate studies. Eligible applicants must be enrolled or accepted in a graduate program at an accredited institution without employer tuition reimbursement. With a lifetime limit of $2,000, the scholarship emphasizes community involvement, academic performance, and letters of recommendation, fostering educational advancement in the local community.

The Delta Kappa Gamma (Alpha Psi Chapter) Nancy Wilson Recruitment Grant supports Muskingum County high school graduates entering their final year of college to pursue teaching. Funded by the Muskingum County Community Foundation, this grant aims to foster the next generation of educators by providing financial assistance directly to recipients. Eligible candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in teaching, along with positive recommendations and academic performance.

Hubertus W. V. Willems Scholarship

The Hubertus W. V. Willems Scholarship is one of many funding opportunities available to students through NAACP's Inspire Initiatives. We offer scholarships to outstanding and qualified students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Through the generosity of our donors, we advance efforts to ensure equity in educational opportunity that prepares students for success in school, work, and life.

W. Thomas Musser Memorial Charitable Fund

Mission Statement

This fund has been initiated in memory of W. Thomas Musser (Tom Musser) and will provide grants to charitable organizations whose missions and activities most closely reflect those that Tom believed in and supported during his life time. A component of the fund will also be used to provide scholarships to individuals pursuing post-secondary education.

The David Roy Kovacs Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, supports local high school graduates from New Britain who plan to pursue further education at community colleges, trade schools, or vocational schools.
