Oklahoma District Attorneys Council

The primary function of the District Attorneys Council is to provide a professional organization for the education, training and coordination of technical efforts of all District Attorneys of the State. The DAC assists local District Attorneys by providing financial, personnel, and other administrative services upon request. The Council is the administrative agency for the Crime Victims Compensation Board and the state administrative agency for several federal grants.

It is important to note that the DAC does not have control over individual District Attorneys. Its functions are advisory and administrative support only. The DAC does not have the power to investigate, stop, or otherwise prevent a District Attorney from prosecuting an individual or group.

S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Grant (VAWA)

The purpose of the S.T.O.P. (Services-Training-Officers-Prosecutors) Violence Against Women Grant Program is to develop and strengthen the criminal justice system's response to violence against women and to support and enhance services for victims. The S.T.O.P. VAWA Grant Program encourages victim service providers, prosecutors, law enforcement, and the courts to implement coordinated multidisciplinary approaches to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

The mission of the Oklahoma Historical Society is to collect, preserve, and share the history and culture of the state of Oklahoma and its people.

The Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) was founded on May 27, 1893, by members of the Territorial Press Association to preserve newspapers. Over the years the OHS has developed numerous collections, programs, research centers, museums, historic homes, and military sites across the state. The OHS is an agency of the State of Oklahoma and a private membership organization governed by a Board of Directors.

Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program

Grants-in-Aid Program

The Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant Program is a grants-in-aid program offered by the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS) with a goal of encouraging the collection, preservation, and sharing of Oklahoma history at the grassroots level in all parts of the state. Open to tribal and municipal governments and not-for-profit historical organizations located in Oklahoma and registered with the Oklahoma Secretary of State, this grants program offers funding ranging from $1,000 to $25,000 for projects focused on collections, exhibits, educational programming and capacity building. Applications for this annual program open in the fall, and award announcements are made in January.

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program enables rural Oklahoma communities to finance a variety of public infrastructure and economic improvements and helps promote job growth as a result of these improvements. CDBG funds are provided by the federal government (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development) and managed by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to help ensure Oklahoma’s most critical needs are addressed.

CDBG Small Cities

Oklahoma’s Small Cities program helps fund infrastructure and economic improvement projects for Oklahoma communities with a population between 15,000 and 50,000 and that are currently not HUD designated entitlement communities or a participant in the CDBG Urban County Designation for Tulsa County. Participating communities are allocated a percentage of the total amount of available funding depending on population and income levels.

Use of Funds

The CDBG Small Cities Program funds a broad array of projects and activities listed in Section 105(a) of the Federal Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. Such projects could include but are not limited to the following:

• Water and wastewater system improvements
• Fire protection
• Streets
• Senior citizen centers
• Gas and electrical system improvements
• Removal of architectural barriers associated with handicapped areas
• Storm water drainage improvements

Based on this inventory a 5 year strategic capital improvement plan is developed and all assets placed on GIS mapping.

Oklahoma AmeriCorps

Oklahoma AmeriCorps improves lives, strengthens communities and fosters civic engagement through service and volunteering. We bring people together to tackle some of the state’s most pressing challenges by providing grants to Oklahoma nonprofits. These programs are located throughout the state and focus on the areas of Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures, and Veterans & Military Families. Those who serve in the programs are known as “Members” and earn an education award for their participation. 

AmeriCorps Oklahoma Funding

Oklahoma AmeriCorps is seeking grant applicants to operate or develop AmeriCorps programs in Oklahoma. The AmeriCorps programs will enroll AmeriCorps members to address community-identified needs in one or more focus areas during their term of service: Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures, or Veterans and Military Families.

Oklahoma AmeriCorps is the legal applicant to the federal AmeriCorps agency, and applicants applying under this notice are subgrantees of Oklahoma AmeriCorps. Applicants will initially submit their grant in the Oklahoma AmeriCorps internal application system and successful applicants will enter the final grant application in eGrants for submission to the AmeriCorps agency. Indian Tribes are eligible to apply directly to the AmeriCorps agency.

Application Types

Oklahoma AmeriCorps grants may be either an operating grant with AmeriCorps members to support the program’s operations or a planning grant to develop a future operational program. Planning grants are not awarded AmeriCorps member slots. 

The Title XVI Water Reclamation and Reuse Projects, funded by the US Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, invites proposals for innovative water reuse solutions. This program enhances water supply reliability and supports sustainable practices for urban and agricultural communities. By leveraging Federal and non-Federal resources, the initiative aims to address water scarcity and improve hydropower reliability, aligning with national priorities for energy and resource management.

The Delta Dental of Oklahoma Foundation aims to enhance the oral health of Oklahomans by providing grants for dental care access, education, and research. Funding is focused on nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government agencies that develop programs for underserved populations. The Foundation prioritizes projects that are free or low-cost, support volunteer dental professionals, and demonstrate significant community impact. Notably, grants cannot be used to compensate dental professionals or fund new clinic operatories unless under exceptional circumstances.

The WaterSMART Enhancing Water Resources Projects program invites eligible entities to secure funding for initiatives that enhance water resource management across various sectors, including conservation, infrastructure improvement, and watershed restoration. Priority is given to projects that collaboratively address community needs and yield significant environmental benefits. This funding opportunity aligns with federal priorities aimed at optimizing resource use and improving grant oversight, as outlined in recent executive orders.

The WaterSMART: Desalination Construction Projects initiative by the Bureau of Reclamation aims to enhance water supply reliability through cooperative funding and support for desalination facilities. This program aligns with federal priorities to improve energy and resource management, encouraging proposals that diversify local water sources. By focusing on innovative solutions to water scarcity, the initiative promotes sustainable water management practices, especially for growing communities facing water shortages.

The OARA Grow Oklahoma Scholarship, offered by the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, supports Oklahoma students pursuing education in agricultural fields. This initiative reflects a commitment to community development and educational advancement in rural areas. By providing financial assistance directly to universities, the scholarship facilitates a seamless educational journey for recipients. The foundation is dedicated to connecting individuals and organizations to enhance the philanthropic landscape in Oklahoma, fostering sustainable growth and positive change.

The Lynn Institute Hope Leadership Scholarship, provided by the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, aims to empower young Oklahomans by offering scholarships that support their educational and career aspirations. Focused on values such as perseverance, kindness, and integrity, this scholarship is designed to uplift students from vulnerable communities, helping them forge paths toward brighter futures and sustainable change.

The Kingfisher Community Trust Scholarships, funded by the Communities Foundation of Oklahoma, support graduating seniors in Kingfisher County. These scholarships aim to help students pursue higher education by providing financial assistance directly to their chosen universities. Criteria for selection include academic performance and other requirements specified in the Student Agreement. This initiative reflects the foundation's commitment to empowering local communities and facilitating educational opportunities for deserving students.

Provides a scholarship for a Kingfisher senior who plans to further their education at a technical school or college/university in Oklahoma. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and show exceptional leadership qualities and community involvement.

The BCBS Oklahoma - Blue Impact Grants support community-focused initiatives aimed at improving health and wellness in Oklahoma. These grants prioritize programs that enhance economic opportunity, nutrition, and overall health outcomes. Eligible organizations include community, civic, or charitable entities that benefit Oklahoma residents. The initiative emphasizes funding for health, wellness, and human services, while excluding requests related to discrimination, tuition, or political activities. This program fosters community growth through targeted financial support.

The Rural Fire Defense 80/20 Reimbursement Grant Program in Oklahoma provides essential funding to rural fire departments, offering reimbursement of 80% for project costs. Administered by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, this program supports fire station construction and equipment purchases, with specific limits set for each category. Eligible entities include towns and fire departments serving populations under 10,000. Grants are distributed statewide, fostering improved rural fire defense capabilities.
