The Dr. George H. and Mrs. Hettie S. Love 'Love of Learning' Scholarship Fund, established by the Bishop Nathan Baxter Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians, supports Black students and students of color pursuing education degrees. Preference is given to those attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), particularly Cheyney University, Lincoln University, and St. Augustine's University. The scholarship aims to empower future educators from the Black community, ensuring they have the resources needed to succeed.

The PCA Creative Communities Initiative (CCI) funds community-driven, arts-based projects that enhance social cohesion and economic vitality in Pennsylvania. With grants of up to $25,000 annually for four years, CCI promotes equity, inclusivity, and engagement through creative placemaking. Preference is given to initiatives impacting health and education, especially those involving Encova associates as active participants.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

The Park Foundation Grants for Animal Welfare focus on advancing the protection and conservation of wildlife, particularly through policy and advocacy efforts for threatened species. The foundation supports innovative, solution-oriented models that foster systemic change and compassion. Key areas include organizing for endangered wildlife, indigenous management practices, and supporting sanctuaries for great apes. Wegmans Family Foundation Inc focuses on cultivating healthy communities through support for hunger relief, health initiatives, education, and youth programs. They prioritize collaborations with local nonprofits to enhance community well-being, offering assistance in key areas like economic mobility and youth engagement. Despite their wide-ranging support, they have specific ineligibility criteria, such as not accommodating personal requests or solicitation on their property, aiming to direct resources effectively where they are needed most.

PLTW Engineering - New Program In Partnership With Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group has partnered with PLTW to support education in its local communities where Ardagh employees live and work. This partnership recognizes the critical role education, and access to education, plays in ensuring equal opportunities and in building successful, vibrant communities. It is expected that over the next 10 years, Ardagh sponsored education programs will benefit more than 500,000 PreK-12 students as well as delivering best-in-class teacher training to more than 5,000 teachers across 2,000 schools in Ardagh's U.S. communities.

Program Requirements

The purpose of this grant is to assist the grantee's implementation of the PLTW Engineering program. Grantee must offer the PLTW Engineering program for three academic years. Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2027-2028 academic year and must offer one additional course in the 2028-2029 academic year (two different courses in two years). Grantee may implement any PLTW Engineering courses of their choosing. Grantee must complete three years of grant reporting.

About PA IOLTA

The core mission of the Pennsylvania Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Board is to support the provision of civil legal services to the Commonwealth’s poor and disadvantaged. The IOLTA Board is a not-for-profit organization operating under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

How Does the IOLTA Program Work?

The IOLTA program is simple. Clients and others frequently transfer moneys to attorneys to hold. When the amount is large or if the funds will be held for an extended period of time, attorneys invest them for the benefit of the client. But when the funds are small or expected to be held for a short time, they cannot practically be invested to benefit the client. Pennsylvania Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15 requires attorneys to deposit nominal and short-term fiduciary funds in interest-bearing IOLTA accounts. The attorneys’ banks transfer the interest earned on IOLTA accounts to the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board.

How is the Money Used?

Upon approval of the Supreme Court of PA, the Board makes grants annually to non-profit organizations, law school clinical programs, and administration of justice projects that provide civil legal services free of charge to the poor and disadvantaged.

Grants

The Pennsylvania IOLTA Board carries out its mission to financially support the delivery of civil legal aid to low-income and disadvantaged Pennsylvanians through the careful administration of various revenue sources, both court-directed and legislatively-directed. Upon approval of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the IOLTA Board makes grants annually to qualified legal aid organizations across the state, Pennsylvania’s nine law school clinical and externship programs, and administration of justice projects, all of which provide legal assistance to low-income individuals and families facing a civil legal crisis where basic human needs, such as shelter, food, medicine and safety, are at stake.

Law School Clinical and Internship Programs

The grants are conditioned on five requirements:

• first, that the grants be used to address the unmet civil legal needs of the poor and disadvantaged;
• second, that the program be designed to develop the professional identity and responsibility of law students, including the professional responsibility to render public interest legal service;
• third, that the grant proposal must demonstrate that the law school consulted with local pro bono or legal aid programs or other entities providing free or low-fee legal aid to the poor or near poor in the development of its proposal;
• fourth, that the programming involves live-client experience;
• and fifth, funding participation by the law school or parent university.

The David M. Kleppinger Family Scholarship Fund, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, provides financial assistance to graduating seniors from Hershey High School or Emmaus High School who plan to study political science, pre-law, finance, nursing, or liberal arts at Penn State Main Campus or Florida Gulf Coast University. This scholarship promotes academic achievement and community involvement while emphasizing the importance of ethical conduct and financial need.

The Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four–year universities, graduate schools, and career/technical schools.

Samuel J. Goldstein, Esquire, Scholarship Fund

The Samuel J. Goldstein, Esquire, Scholarship Fund was established at The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide scholarships to benefit students from Allegheny County and contiguous counties who are planning to attend or already attend law school in Pennsylvania.

The PA Fair Fund - County 4-H Funds Reimbursement Program supports county 4-H organizations in Pennsylvania by reimbursing a portion of their annual expenses for activities that foster leadership development. This includes costs for public speaking, judging contests, scholarships, and administration. By attracting visitors and boosting local economies, fairs serve as vital community hubs. This grant promotes youth engagement and agricultural education while ensuring that upfront costs are covered by the organizations.

The Veteran Employment Program (VEP) by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry aims to support veterans by addressing employment barriers. With approximately $400,000 in funding, the program encourages innovative strategies to enhance veterans' employment outcomes across the Commonwealth. This initiative strengthens partnerships between government and community organizations, demonstrating Pennsylvania's commitment to providing essential resources for its veterans and ensuring their successful transition into the workforce.

The PA Fair Fund - County FFA Funds Reimbursement Program supports Pennsylvania's county FFA organizations by reimbursing a portion of their annual expenses for leadership development activities. Eligible costs include public speaking, judging contests, and scholarships, while entertainment and clothing costs are ineligible. This program enhances local economies by creating jobs and promoting agricultural products, making it essential for community development and engagement.

Burrell Township Scholarship

The purpose of the Burrell Township Scholarship Fund is to help needy and deserving students who are residents of Burrell Township, Armstrong County, PA, and who display exceptional ability and aptitude to acquire a college, technical or professional education. The fund was established by Anna Cloyde Brooks in memory of her mother, Christina King Woodward, father, Oliver Woodward, and brother, Harry Woodward.

The Bayard Long Award supports students researching plant species in the Philadelphia area and surrounding regions. With a typical funding of $2000, it encourages studies that enhance understanding of local flora, including field and herbarium work. Eligible projects must include at least one native plant species, promoting both academic and practical botanical endeavors. This opportunity is available to all students enrolled in degree programs at any post-secondary institution, furthering educational and scientific exploration in botany.

The EITC Opportunity Scholarship, offered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, provides funding for students in the lowest 15% achieving schools in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, and Perry counties. The SFS Fellows Grant, awarded by the Society for Freshwater Science, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to freshwater science research, policy, or management.
