Kiwanis Club of Marietta members participate in service projects, hold fundraisers, and change children’s lives in our community. In addition, club members contribute to Kiwanis International initiatives helping clubs around the world assist children with education, basic needs, and medical care.

The Kiwanis Club of Marietta has proudly established and contributed to several scholarship endowments over the years to support deserving college students in our community. These scholarships are made possible through our club's Flag Project, which places over 1,300 American flags in front of homes and businesses five times each year.

Scott Chadwick Scholarship for Emerging Leaders

This memorial scholarship was established in 2020 by the Marietta Kiwanis Foundation in honor of former Club President and outstanding community servant leader, Scott Chadwick.

Nevada youth development and leadership organizations can access funding through the Yellowstone Club Community Foundation’s Big Bald Dave Adventure Scholarship, which provides a summer outdoor adventure and service experience for one student. Big Sky high school students in grades 9–11, age 15 by June 1, 2025, who show leadership, volunteerism, and passion for the outdoors may be eligible.

High school seniors, college, and non-traditional students studying criminal justice or first responder programs can receive scholarship support for U.S.-based 2- or 4-year colleges. CommunityGiving provides Nevada youth development and leadership programs with a potential resource, as eligible students from Benton, Stearns, or Sherburne County in Minnesota may be connected to scouting-related or similar initiatives.

Young people ages 13 to 19 in the Berkshire Taconic region can receive US $200 - US $800 to join arts-focused summer enrichment, apprenticeships, or internships that build their skills and confidence. The Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation pays vendors directly for tuition, art supplies, or related expenses, which may benefit youth leadership programs like scouting.

Nonprofit organizations running youth-focused programs and projects, including scouting-related youth development, may be eligible for funding in Nevada and beyond. Eleanor & Henry Jansen Foundation, supported by Chuckanut Health Foundation, prioritizes initiatives that directly impact many people, favor programs with strong volunteer bases, and encourages projects leveraging multiple funding sources rather than fully completed efforts.

Youth-focused organizations in Nevada supporting Native or Indigenous teens and young adults can connect eligible participants to the Champions for Change leadership program, which develops Indigenous youth leaders through experience-based learning and advocacy training. The Aspen Institute’s Center for Native American Youth selects 5–6 leaders annually, and all applicants join the broader CNAY network.

Youth-serving organizations and eligible Nevada public high schools can support student-led leadership and civic engagement projects through the Bezos Scholars Program, which provides more than US $1,000 for each project. Bezos Family Foundation offers a yearlong, no-cost leadership development experience for selected juniors and their educator mentors from qualifying U.S. schools.

Female high school seniors active in Girl Scouts and graduating from a Smith County, Texas school can receive US $1,000 for college expenses through this scholarship, usable at any U.S. college. East Texas Communities Foundation supports youth development and leadership; Nevada scouting organizations may share this opportunity with eligible students who meet these criteria.

Nevada youth-serving nonprofits offering STEM education, youth development, or job readiness programs can access funding through AFL Global’s Community Grants. These awards support scouting organizations and similar groups that help children and adults gain skills, stay engaged, and move toward employment and self-sufficiency in their communities.

Students involved in youth leadership or community service in Nevada can apply for Chick-fil-A’s Community Scholars awards of up to US $25,000 to support college, vocational, or graduate education. Eligible applicants are high school seniors, undergraduates, or graduate students planning full-time study and willing to join a year-long leadership and mentoring program.

Nonprofit ministries focused on evangelism, youth development, leadership training, or holistic services for vulnerable people may be eligible for project support, including in Nevada. Festus and Helen Stacy Foundation supports 501(c)(3) organizations in South Florida, across the U.S., and internationally, with an emphasis on emerging nations and Christian media and stewardship initiatives.

Youth-led community service projects in Nevada and across the U.S. can receive US $250 - US $1,000 to cover core project costs. With a mission to support young citizen leaders, Karma for Cara provides microgrants to students 18 and under for creative, hands-on volunteer and youth leadership initiatives, including Scout-led efforts.

Youth musicians in Nevada interested in bluegrass lessons, camps, workshops, or educational materials can receive support through small individual grants. Grants from IBMA Foundation help young people age 21 and under, including those in scouting programs, access up to US $500 for instruction, instruments, rentals, or other bluegrass music education expenses.

The Rotary Works Foundation Grant supports charitable projects primarily focused on children, youth, and families, emphasizing active Rotarian involvement. Grants range from $500 to $5,000, awarded prior to events. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(1) organizations. Preference is given to projects engaging Rotarians. The application deadline is the 2nd Wednesday of each month, and all grantees must report outcomes post-project.

Naomi Chazan Global Activism Fellowship

Want to travel to Israel/Palestine while advancing equality, democracy, and peace for all?

The New Israel Fund’s Naomi Chazan Global Activism Fellowship offers a one-of-a-kind opportunity to visit Israel/Palestine, meet frontline Israeli and Palestinian activists, and learn about issues of war, peace, and inequality by seeing the reality on the ground. 

Fellows will visit Israel/Palestine on November 3-10, 2026.

This trip is a great opportunity to learn alongside peers and friends (ages 21 – 35). NIF is based on the simple idea that those of us who share a commitment to Israel/Palestine and to progressive values can join together to work for equality, freedom, and human rights. You will join a cohort of participants from the U.S. and Canada building relationships across borders to be sustained for years to come.

Following the trip, participants are expected to organize at least two NIF events in their home communities, with support from NIF staff. These events could look like a report-back highlighting the participants’ learnings from the trip, educational programs featuring NIF grantees/partners, or something else entirely that is tailored to the intellectual, emotional, and spiritual needs of the fellow’s communities.

The program is subsidized by generous donors in the NIF community. All “on-the-ground” costs—your hotel accommodation and almost all meals—will be covered by NIF. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own airfare and travel/health insurance. If the cost of airfare is a barrier for you, please apply anyway. Limited airfare subsidies may be available.

The Tribal Colleges Extension Program Special Emphasis (TCEP-SE) aims to enhance community engagement through pilot projects at 1994 Institutions, targeting issues like agricultural productivity, food systems, and public health. This program is open to a wide range of Tribal colleges and universities, promoting workforce development and youth involvement in agriculture. By addressing local needs, TCEP-SE fosters community vitality and prepares the next generation of Tribal agriculture leaders.

Sports Matter Mission

We believe that sports change lives. In addition to physical and mental health benefits, sports have the power to change our perspectives, our character and our communities for the better. This core belief has guided DICK’S Sporting Goods and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation since the beginning – but not everyone has the same access to play. Through grants and other support, The DICK’S Foundation Sports Matter Program helps under-resourced 501c3 organizations, schools and community teams across all 50 states provide opportunities for youth to play sports.
