About the Emergency Solutions Grant Program (ESG)

Substance Abuse and Violence Prevention:  K-12 Youth (examples including):

• Evidence-based prevention programs targeting alcohol, opioids, vaping, and other substance use
• Skill-building programs that focus on refusal skills, decision making, coping strategies, and peer pressure resistanc
• Early intervention programs for at-risk youth
• Recovery support services for youth in early recovery (including peer support groups, mentoring, and relapse prevention planning)
• Youth-focused programs that teach emotional regulation, anger management, and non-violent communication
• Intervention programs for youth exposed to or at risk of violence
• Peer mediation and restorative justice programs that reduce disciplinary incidents and promote accountability

Tennessee Housing Development Agency (THDA) will provide HOME funding under its HOME Rental Housing Development Program for the new construction and/or acquisition and rehabilitation of rental housing projects. 

The Historic Preservation Fund Grant (HPF) offers matching grants to support projects that provide public benefits, reimbursing up to 60% of eligible costs. Applications open from December 1, 2025, to February 1, 2026. Senior centers in Tennessee can apply for capital funding of US $5,000 - US $50,000 to support building improvements and equipment that enhance resources, activities, and social connection for older adults. Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging administers these one-time Senior Center Capital Grants statewide.

Agricultural Enterprise Fund

The Agricultural Enterprise Fund (AEF) is an incentive program that supports Governor Lee’s priority of job creation and economic development by facilitating agricultural development in Tennessee. It is administered by the Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the Department of Economic and Community Development.

The AEF awards grants to starting or expanding agricultural, food, and forestry businesses; nonprofits, local governments, and other entities in Tennessee, or those whose project will be located in Tennessee. The program focuses on value-added and processing projects that benefit other producers or forest landowners.

Successful grant recipients must demonstrate a strong potential for impact on local farm income, access to markets, increased capacity or agricultural innovation.

Project Categories

Projects funded by the Agricultural Enterprise Fund must match the description of at least one of the following four categories. Many projects will potentially match the description of more than one category and applicants should indicate so on their application.

Focused on capital maintenance and improvements, this program invites Tennessee museums that are 501(c)(3) nonprofits or affiliated with a governmental entity to seek US $5,000 - US $100,000 for facility upgrades. Eligible projects include building, bathroom, roof, HVAC, accessibility, and electrical improvements that support the museum’s mission and public service.

The purpose of the Urban & Community Forestry Program is to ensure all Tennesseans experience the numerous benefits of urban and community forests by catalyzing and supporting the growth, management, and sustainability of healthy urban and community forests in all Tennessee communities.This grant provides funding in four key areas:

• Urban and Community Forestry Management: Supports a full range of community forestry activities, from canopy assessment and planning to planting and long-term maintenance.
• Tree Planting: Focuses on projects that address tree equity, reduce urban heat, replace trees lost to storms, and create new greenspaces.
• Program Development or Capacity Building: Helps establish or grow tree boards, nonprofit organizations, and advocacy groups dedicated to urban forestry.
• Workforce Development: Expands opportunities to build a diverse, skilled workforce in the field of urban forestry through outreach and training programs.
