Frankenmuth Insurance Foundation Charitable Grant

In the spirit of neighbor helping neighbor, the Frankenmuth Insurance Charitable Foundation was founded in 2016 to support qualified charities. The foundation supports tax-exempt, not-for-profit organizations and governmental units focused on community betterment and basic human needs.

The foundation focuses on supporting the following types of causes:

• Building better communities
• Basic human needs, such as affordable housing and food
• Disease research, preventive solutions, and general health and wellness programs

Hawkins Family Foundation Grant

The Crown Automotive Charities/Hawkins Family Foundation supports a wide range of non-profit initiatives, including healthcare, animal welfare, education, veterans' services, the arts, community and economic development, housing, and special needs. The Foundation primarily funds organizations in the communities where they operate: Chattanooga, Tennessee, Dublin/Columbus, Ohio, and the Tampa Bay area in Florida.

Ingram Charities comprises the Ingram family and business philanthropy and is the way in which Ingram gives back to the community.

Ingram Charities provides grants for programs and nonprofit organizations that make Nashville a better place to live and work. Our funding typically focuses on programs that are making an impact in Middle Tennessee through the arts, education, and health and human services.

Valero Energy Foundation

Speedway Children's Charities

SCC is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and provides funding for hundreds of non-profit organizations throughout the nation that meet the direct needs of children. Our vision is that every child has the same opportunities no matter what obstacle they are facing.

Speedway Children's Charities is more than just a fundraiser. Our local chapters are partners in change, working with a broad range of people and organizations to identify and resolve pressing issues dealing with children in their communities.

Because of the unique conditions in every community, the issues Speedway Children's Charities address are determined locally. Challenges ranging from learning disabilities, broken homes, and childhood cancer are on the agenda for the local chapters of SCC and the numerous non-profit organizations they support.

SCC - Jeff Byrd Grant

The Bristol Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that the Jeff Byrd Grant has been established in honor of the former Bristol Motor Speedway President and General Manager. Jeff was a very special man who loved children and lived by a very simple yet world-changing mantra: To whom much is given much is required. SCC Bristol wishes to honor Mr. Byrd by acting on those words and giving a $50,000 grant to an agency who will pay it forward to the children they serve. It is with this in mind that the project must be something exceptional.

The Jeff Byrd Grant project must be valued at $50,000 or higher. If higher, applicant must have a plan in place to fund the amount above $50,000.

Predators Foundation Helper Grants

Through an annual grant cycle, the Nashville Predators Foundation empowered by SmileDirectClub gives out hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities for projects and programs benefiting youth and their families in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Last year, the foundation distributed $800,040 to 172 charitable organizations.

In 2022 the Preds Foundation renamed their grants program to Helper Grants empowered by SmileDirectClub after former Preds Senior VP & Advisor Gerry Helper. Helper retired after 40-plus years in the NHL, including 24 with Nashville, where he ended his career as Preds Foundation Chairman of the Board.

Grant Guidelines

• Grants may range from $500 to a maximum of $10,000. Average grant last year was $4,651.
• Projects with a detailed itemized list of grant expenses are more likely to be funded.
• Organizations looking to partner with the Nashville Predators and the Nashville Predators Foundation beyond funding are given stronger consideration.
• Organizations whose operating budget is under $2.0 million will receive priority consideration.
• Organizations that have received funding in three consecutive years will be considered but organizations that have not received grants in consecutive years may receive priority consideration.

Priorities

100 Women Who Care: West Tennessee awards grants annually to programs and projects that benefit the people of West Tennessee. There is no specific area of focus for these awards, and the grant may be used for unrestricted operating support or specific projects. 

Funding

Finalists will be selected to present at a luncheon on March 7, 2025. Any finalists will be notified at least one week prior to the event to prepare presentations and information. Funding determinations will be made on March 7, 2025, after voting is completed by members.

Applicants may request any amount up to $10,000 in their proposal. The amount requested should be justified using the budget provided with the proposal.  

Two grants will be awarded during the luncheon on March 7, 2025 (one to a small organization; one to a large organization). The amount of the grants will be determined by the amount of funds raised by 100 Women Who Care donations.

Nonprofit winners will receive a check for the awarded funds after March 7, 2025.

Because of the founder’s strong work ethic and his intrinsic belief in the inherent value of work, the Holloway Family Foundation focuses on funding programs that provide career development training for individuals who otherwise would not have access to those prospects. The foundation recognizes that having a living-wage job not only provides economic stability to individuals and their families, but also gives people a sense of personal worth that comes from contributing to the greater good of society as a whole.

Youth mentorship

Readily admitting the powerful impact of a personal mentor during his youth, Graham actively sought opportunities to serve in this capacity for others throughout his life. For this reason, the foundation embraces one-on-one mentorship programs whose goals are to influence young people who are in need of guidance, often due to circumstances beyond their control.

The American Water Charitable Foundation is an independent, 501(c)(3) private foundation, supported by the shareholders of American Water. The Foundation’s Board of Trustees, composed of officers and leaders of American Water or its subsidiaries, review Foundation programs, guidelines, and distribution of funds.

Applications will be accepted in the following states served by American Water, in addition to its Military Service locations: California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia.

The Water and Environment Grant Program will be awarded to help fund innovative, community-based projects that:

• improve, restore or protect the watersheds, surface water and/or groundwater supplies
• promote water conservation
• improve equitable access to water-based recreation in underserved communities 

Economic Development Fund of East Tennessee

The Economic Development Fund of East Tennessee was established at East Tennessee Foundation in 1991 to support charitable and economic programs aimed at fostering regional economic development.  

Grant amounts and term

Grants will be awarded for one-year terms in August 2024. The grant term is August 1, 2024 – July 31, 2025.

Amounts will range from $5,000 – $6,500.

CNS Y-12 Community Investment Fund

Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC (CNS), the contractor at Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN, and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, TX, established funds at East Tennessee Foundation and Amarillo Area Foundation as part of their commitment to the host communities of Amarillo and Oak Ridge, as well as their local counties and regions.

With the leadership of an employee-based CNS Y-12 Investment Advisory Committee, CNS employees have the opportunity to recommend grant support where the need is the greatest and the resources are best allocated. Since 2015, this fund has awarded 205 grants benefiting more than 120 nonprofits in their 20-county service area in East Tennessee.

Grant Amounts and Terms

Organizations can apply for an amount between $2,000 and $15,000. Grants will be awarded for one-year terms in September 2025. The grant term is September 15, 2025 – September 14, 2026.

In 2025, applicant organizations must address one of the following funding priorities:

• Acute Mental Health Support: Grant proposals should demonstrate how programs provide immediate, short-term response to people experiencing a mental health crisis.

• Pre and Postnatal Family Services: Grant proposals should demonstrate how programs provide access to healthcare, educational services, or other resources pre and/or post delivery for individuals and families.
• Early Learning and Academic Support: Grant proposals should explain how programs support the development of cognitive, reading, writing, and numeric skills to children and youth.

SCC Bristol Grants

Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping children. We operate as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and produce and coordinate various events throughout the year to raise funds that are distributed to worthy children's organizations. It is our desire to meet the critical needs of all children.

Priority consideration will be given to organizations helping the homeless, orphan and foster population, and victims of sex trafficking. All applications will receive consideration and all eligible organizations are encouraged to apply.

SCC Nashville Grant Program

Speedway Children's Charities is dedicated to helping our next generation exceed expectations and ensuring every child has the same opportunities, no matter the obstacles they face. Our organization is dedicated to caring for children to help them lead productive lives. Through our various events and activities, we strive to raise funds and provide grants to nonprofit children's organizations in middle Tennessee. In 2024, SCC Nashville distributed over $80,000 to local organizations.

CoreCivic Foundation

About

As the philanthropic arm of CoreCivic, the mission of the CoreCivic Foundation is to support former offenders, victims of crime and abuse, and underserved youth. We accomplish this by providing time, resources, and service to nonprofit organizations working with these groups.

The John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County

An Affiliate Fund of East Tennessee Foundation

The John D. Grubb and Louise G. Sumner Fund for Monroe County (Fund for Monroe County) was established through a generous gift by Monroe County natives, John and his sister, Louise. Louise and John’s desire to help secure advanced educational opportunities for students and leave a philanthropic legacy dedicated to improving the lives of residents of Monroe County became a reality in 1998 with the establishment of a permanent charitable endowment for Monroe County. The Fund was created to benefit the economic, social, cultural and educational well-being of Monroe County residents and their communities. Grants from the Fund are intended to encourage creative use of area resources and contribute to the quality of life of Monroe County residents.

Grant Amounts and Term

Grants will be awarded for two-year terms starting in September 2024. The grant term is September 15, 2024 – September 15, 2026. Amounts will range from $5,000 – $7,500.

The Arts Fund for East Tennessee was established in 1986 to serve as a source of funds to support excellence in the arts, expand access to the arts, and connect artists with each other and with East Tennessee communities. 

In 2024, the Arts Fund for East Tennessee will focus its grantmaking on celebrating our region’s richness in artistic expressions and cultural diversity. Grants will be awarded to sustain cultural traditions and to encourage all forms of artistic expression. 

Grants will be awarded for two-year terms in July 2024. The grant term is July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2026.

Amounts will range from $5,000 – $15,000.

The mission of Southern Partners Fund (SPF) is to serve rural Southeastern communities and organizations seeking social, economic and environmental justice by providing them with financial resources, technical assistance, training and access to systems of information and power. There are two central ideas embraced in the democratic philanthropy of Southern Partners Fund: compassion and community. Compassion implies an understanding or concern for community members lacking local political power to impact the decisions that affect their lives. Community relates to the things that bring us and hold us together.

Purpose

The Purpose of SPF Grantmaking is to:

• Develop and nurture grassroots community-based leaders and organizers.

Hubert Ellis Sapp, a transformative visionary and grassroots organizer, was instrumental in turning the concept of Southern Partners Fund, a democratically led foundation directed by grassroots leaders, into a reality. To honor his legacy in the wake of his passing in February of 2021, we are honored to add his name to our Regular Grant Cycle, which from here on, will be referred to as the Hubert E. Sapp Regular Grant Cycle. 

• Applicants may request general support or project support.
• Applicants must have operating budgets of $350,000 or less to receive general support.
• Organizations with operating budgets over $350,000 can apply for project support only.

Members of SPF’s grants committee will contact organizations being considered to schedule a site visit, required for new applicants, or phone interview. SPF’s grants committee, made up of SPF members, makes grants decisions during a September grants panel meeting, which are then ratified by the Board. Groups will be notified of grants decisions after October 1st, 2024.

If an organization has received five consecutive years of regular grant cycle funding, it must take a year off before making a new RGC grant request.
