The Alison Shuemake Scholarship is for a Marshall High School senior and graduates pursing an academic or technical degree or certification.

Applications are open year-round. After we receive all application requirements, we internally review applications and make decisions within two weeks of receipt. An email will be sent to the applicant to complete follow up requirements.

Scholarship payments are sent directly to the school.

Addressing Sensory Health Needs Across the Lifespan PCORI Funding

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) intends to issue the Addressing Sensory Health Needs Across the Lifespan PCORI Funding Announcement (PFA) seeking to fund high-impact, patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects that focus on advancing care and outcomes across the lifespan for people living with sensory health conditions. Proposed CER projects should inform health decisions for people with sensory disorders, their families and care partners in the United States experiencing high burdens and practice variations in sensory health care and outcomes. 

Research Initiative Highlights

This topical PFA will solicit applications proposing to address patient-centered CER questions that will fill evidence gaps in the areas of screening, treatment, support services and interventions that address health outcomes associated with sensory conditions.

PCORI is particularly interested in submissions that address the following Special Areas of Emphasis (SAEs). The purpose of identifying these SAEs is to encourage submissions to these areas, rather than limiting submissions to these topics. Applicants addressing one of the below SAEs should identify the area that is best associated with their research approach.

• Increasing screening and early detection for people with sensory health conditions
• Improving treatment and care coordination for people with sensory health conditions
• Enhancing support services to improve mental health and address stigma experienced by individuals with sensory health conditions, their families and their care partners

In PCORI-funded research, patients and other research partners are expected to meaningfully contribute their lived experience or professional expertise to ensure studies are patient-centered, relevant and useful for healthcare decision making. Applicants must address PCORI’s Foundational Expectations for Partnerships in Research — an evidence-based framework supported by tools and resources to guide effective engagement strategies. Applicants are also strongly encouraged to consider the inclusion of a broad range of patient-centered burdens and economic outcomes.

Participants engage in a structured orientation in Washington, D.C., followed by hands-on training at German media outlets. This fellowship not only enriches careers but also fosters international understanding, with many alumni advancing in prominent media roles globally. With financial support for living and travel expenses, this program significantly enhances the quality of transatlantic news coverage.

The Emily Hall Tremaine Exhibition Research Grant supports innovative projects that explore contemporary art in new frameworks. With a focus on education in the United States, the foundation emphasizes the importance of research that challenges conventional thought. Grants of $10,000 are awarded to curators collaborating with established non-profits, promoting impactful exhibitions. The foundation aims to foster family unity and respect while addressing enduring societal issues through art, environment, and learning differences.

The Anderson Foundation for Autism Grant supports organizations aiming to enhance the quality of life for individuals with autism. Grants of up to $50,000 are available for qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, enabling them to implement impactful programs. The foundation not only funds its own initiatives but also extends support to other entities dedicated to similar goals. Oncology Nursing Foundation

The mission of the Oncology Nursing Foundation is to support cancer nursing excellence.

Since 1981, the Oncology Nursing Foundation(ONF), through generous contributions from individuals and institutions, has provided more than $33 million in funding to support oncology nursing education, research and leadership development. This funding has translated to career development awards, academic scholarships, research grants, a myriad of specialized educational initiatives, as well as nurse resiliency support. Radiation Oncology Certified Nurse (ROCN™) Exam Scholarship

Recipients receive funding to cover the ONCC ROCN™ Certification exam fee.

Purpose

To support registered oncology nurses who specialize in providing care for adult or pediatric patients with cancer undergoing radiation therapy by providing funding support to cover the ROCN™ Certification exam fee. 

Margaret B. Moeller Memorial Fund for Alzheimer's Home Care Companions

Grants support families in the Boyertown Area School District with members who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia.

The Margaret B. Moeller Fund for Alzheimer's Home Care Companions provides grants for families in the Boyertown Area School District with individuals who suffer from Alzheimer's disease or other types of dementia to obtain the services of in-home care companions, aides or other providers of respite care. Grants generally pay for several days of care for a specified period of time. The fund was created to help families who are not eligible for any other form of reimbursement for such services. Decisions are generally made within 15 days of receiving a complete application, including the referral.
