This five-year support helps create full-time mid- to senior-level roles focused on strategic planning, budgeting, fundraising, compliance, diversity initiatives, and student-athlete welfare across eligible Division II members.

Delaware NCAA Division II member schools creating new assistant coaching positions to increase ethnic minority and gender representation can apply for the Coaching Enhancement Grant. With a mission to support diversity in athletics, the National Collegiate Athletic Association provides three-year funding of US $48,000 toward salary, wages, and benefits for these roles.

Delaware minority health and physical education professionals with at least ten years in HPERD and long-term SHAPE America membership may be eligible for the E.B. Henderson Award honoring scholarship, mentorship, and service. This Society of Health and Physical Educators recognition highlights leaders expanding opportunities for ethnic minorities and underserved populations in school and community health, PE, and sport.

The Community Foundation of South Puget Sound’s Learning Seed Foundation Scholarship offers US $3,000 awards, with potential renewal for up to three additional undergraduate years.

Minority high school seniors and recent graduates pursuing postsecondary education can receive US $1,000 scholarships through the John E. Thomasson Scholarship from The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond. Focused on higher and technical education for African American and other minority youth, this opportunity may benefit Delaware students seeking similar minority-focused funding options.

Focused on minority education, Innovia Foundation invites Delaware Black, Indigenous, and other students of color to pursue the Diversity in Advertising Scholarship supporting marketing, advertising, design, or computer science studies. Applicants must attend an accredited institution, show academic achievement, and may strengthen their application through school activities, community service, and work experience.

Undergraduate engineering students of marginalized ethnicities or genders in Delaware and across the U.S. can apply for the PAE Diversity in Engineering Scholarship from Architecture Foundation of Oregon, with awards up to US $20,000 to offset educational costs. Funding supports climate justice–focused studies in mechanical, electrical, renewable energy, architectural, or civil engineering.

Nonprofit organizations running research-backed programs to recruit or retain Black, Latina, and Native American women and girls in college-level computing may be eligible for support in Delaware and across the U.S. Reboot Representation Tech Coalition prioritizes multi-geo programs leveraging existing infrastructure and invites qualified groups to submit an initial inquiry email before any invited full proposal.

American Indian and Alaska Native students in STEM who are U.S. citizens and LSAMP alumni starting a PhD program can apply for Montana State University's LSAMP Bridge to Doctorate support, awarding US $88,000 in stipends and education allowances. Delaware students meeting these criteria may be eligible for this minority-focused graduate opportunity.

Indigenous undergraduate and graduate students in STEM, including those from Delaware, can apply for the American Indian Science and Engineering Society’s Indian Motorcycle Academic Scholarship, awarding US $5,000 per year for academic costs. Eligible applicants must be AISES members with a 3.0+ GPA studying fields like mechanical engineering, digital and information technology, manufacturing, supply chain, or related STEM areas.

The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts administers over 160 scholarships. Students who apply to the Scholarship program may be eligible for many of these funds.

Kansas City Pride Community Alliance Scholarship Fund

The KCPCA Scholarship provides needed financial assistance to support LGBTQ+ students who are resident of Jackson, Clay, Platte or Buchannan counties in Missouri and Johnson, Wyandotte or Douglas counties in Kansas of all background and educational interests. We prioritize LGBTA+ students who need it most and who have some or all of the following experiences:

• People of color, Black, Indigenous
• Trans, Non-binary, Gender Expansive, Two spirit people
• People with disabilities – including people living with chronic illnesses, HIV, neurodivergence, mental health challenges
• People who have or are experiencing housing instability
• People living in rural areas
• People who have financial need without access to financial support
• People who have experienced family rejection.

The scholarship was established by Judy Huang to support a college education for students who are Asian, in financial need, and demonstrate perseverance and hard work.

Award Amount:

• $5,000 payable over fours years at $1,250 per year.

The Richmond African American Scholarship, established by The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, aims to support African American students from public high schools in Richmond. This scholarship provides financial assistance for college expenses and is awarded to students based on academic achievement, leadership, and community involvement. Eligible candidates must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to enroll in a full-time Baccalaureate program at an accredited institution after graduation.

James P. Humphrey, Black Achievers Scholarship

Shelby County residents who are of African-American descent and a graduating senior at a Shelby County High School maintaining a high school GPA of no less than 2.0.

Selection based upon (in order of priority):

Financial need, academic ability, demonstrated community and school service, and recommendations, and an interview.

Scholarships are offered to students living in the Richmond region and other Virginia locations. Each scholarship was established by a generous individual, family, or organization with a desire to assist high school students, recent high school graduates, and adult learners to continue their education. 

Rappahannock Industrial Academy Alumni Association Scholarship

Rappahannock Industrial Academy Alumni Association Scholarship Fund was established in 2004 by the Academy’s alumni to provide educational scholarships to qualifying African American students residing in one of the following counties: Essex, King and Queen and Middlesex. Students may attend public or private school.

Recipients will be encouraged to use this educational opportunity to enrich the lives of others in their home community. The Rappahannock Industrial Academy opened its doors on January 1, 1902 to provide secondary education for African American residents in the area. The Alumni Association has for many years awarded scholarships to students from Essex, Middlesex, and King and Queen Counties.

The Talati Family Scholarship Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts, aims to support students of color pursuing higher education. Students can apply through a single online application, which connects them to various scholarships based on eligibility. Awards can reach up to $3,000 and may impact financial aid offers. This scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students attending accredited institutions in the U.S., particularly those from Franklin, Hampshire, and Hampden Counties.

David & Priscilla Morris Scholarship

The David and Priscilla Morris Scholarship was established to provide tuition support for Black or African American students attending Western Michigan University.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution.

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

The Native American Research Centers for Health (NARCH) program supports federally-recognized American Indian and Alaska Native Tribes and organizations in advancing health-related research. It aims to enhance research careers and infrastructure through a competitive application process. Funded by the US Dept. of Health & Human Services, this initiative invites eligible entities to apply, ensuring that only high-quality proposals undergo peer review for potential funding.

Generally the Community Foundation's scholarships are awarded to applicants who have high financial need. Applicants with household income exceeding $100,000 are less likely to be awarded, but applying will allow you to be considered for targeted scholarships.

Miller Johnson Michigan Diversity Law School Scholarship

Open to students of color accepted to or presently attending an accredited law school within the US with a permanent residence in Michigan or attending a Michigan law school with financial need and a minimum 3.0 GPA.
