PLTW Engineering - New Program In Partnership With Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group has partnered with PLTW to support education in its local communities where Ardagh employees live and work. This partnership recognizes the critical role education, and access to education, plays in ensuring equal opportunities and in building successful, vibrant communities. It is expected that over the next 10 years, Ardagh sponsored education programs will benefit more than 500,000 PreK-12 students as well as delivering best-in-class teacher training to more than 5,000 teachers across 2,000 schools in Ardagh's U.S. communities.

Program Requirements

The purpose of this grant is to assist the grantee's implementation of the PLTW Engineering program. Grantee must offer the PLTW Engineering program for three academic years. Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2027-2028 academic year and must offer one additional course in the 2028-2029 academic year (two different courses in two years). Grantee may implement any PLTW Engineering courses of their choosing. Grantee must complete three years of grant reporting.

The DGLF Youth Literacy Grants, established by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, aim to enhance literacy among underperforming students in K-12. Organizations such as schools and libraries can apply for funding to implement or expand literacy programs, purchase necessary materials, and acquire technology. With over $159 million awarded to date, the foundation supports efforts that provide equitable education opportunities, ensuring every child has the chance to learn and succeed, regardless of their background.

Grants from Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin help Wisconsin students of Hmong descent pursue higher education. Eligible applicants are U.S. citizens or permanent residents from Marathon, Lincoln, or Shawano Counties who are graduating high school seniors or current undergraduates, enrolled full-time at accredited colleges and committed to improving the Hmong community.

Graduating high school seniors in Wisconsin pursuing post-secondary studies in business or education can receive scholarship support for college or other programs. The Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin’s Connexus Association Scholarship assists students from specified north central Wisconsin school districts who have at least a 3.5 GPA and two or more extracurricular activities.

Wisconsin students pursuing postsecondary education can access funding for tuition and related costs through the Marvin C. Schuette Memorial Scholarship, administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin. Children of Wausau Homes employees with at least a 2.0 GPA, especially well-rounded applicants without other awards, may benefit from this opportunity.

Wisconsin students and adults pursuing or advancing a human resources career can receive postsecondary education support through the Kimberly A. Van Den Elzen Memorial Scholarship. Central Wisconsin residents at any level beyond high school may apply, including those in health care human resources, with funding administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin.

The Archie C. Towle Aviation Scholarship, funded by the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, offers financial assistance to students within a 50-mile radius of Wausau pursuing careers in aviation. With over $300,000 in scholarships available, it supports those demonstrating financial need and a passion for aviation. Eligible fields include Airline Pilot, Aircraft Mechanic, and Air Traffic Controller, among others, ensuring opportunities for future aviation professionals.

The Aspirus Scholars Program, developed by Aspirus and community partners, addresses healthcare needs in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Michigan. This initiative offers scholarships up to $175,000 to medical students at the MCW-CW Campus in exchange for a service commitment with Aspirus. The program aims to alleviate the debt burden of future medical providers while fostering a commitment to primary care and community connection, ensuring quality healthcare for generations to come.

The Advanced Practice Clinician (NP or PA) Fellowship Program at Aspirus Health offers a unique 6-month rotation designed for new graduates to excel in hospital medicine. Aspirus Health, a nonprofit system located in Wisconsin and serving parts of Minnesota and Michigan, operates 18 hospitals and numerous outpatient locations. This program aims to enhance skills in hospital medicine, with flexible start dates and two fellowship spots available annually. Aspirus Health, a nonprofit health system in Wisconsin, operates multiple facilities and employs a large team of healthcare professionals, ensuring comprehensive training and support for fellows.

The James M. Cox Foundation Grant offers support to nonprofit organizations focused on conservation, early childhood education, family empowerment, and health. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt and located in areas where Cox Enterprises operates. Grant applications are accepted year-round, with deadlines before Trustee meetings. This initiative aims to partner with local organizations to provide lead hazard reduction services for Medicaid-eligible children and pregnant women. With up to $5 million available, multiple grants may be awarded to enhance children's health and safety across Wisconsin.

Established in 2005 by Jerome Thiessen, these scholarships total over $300,000 annually, benefiting more than 200 students. The Carol Hoops Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin Scholarship provides essential financial support to graduating seniors, GED graduates, and both traditional and non-traditional college students from Northcentral Wisconsin. This scholarship aims to empower students involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program for at least six months, helping them pursue their educational and career aspirations. With over $300,000 in scholarships awarded annually, the initiative significantly enhances the quality of life in the community.

The AROW Global Corporation Scholarship, established in 2022, provides up to $1,500 for high school seniors from central Wisconsin. This scholarship supports students who plan to attend accredited colleges, universities, or technical schools in any field. A total of over $300,000 in scholarships will be awarded to more than 200 students through the Community Foundation of North Central Wisconsin, enhancing educational opportunities and community growth.
