Regional Economic Development Organization (REDO) Grant Program

The Regional Economic Development Organization (REDO) Program is established and guided by Sections 3J and 3K of M.G.L. Chapter 23A to support regionally based efforts to grow and retain existing businesses and attract new business to the Commonwealth.

EOED is now accepting proposals from eligible organizations as defined in M.G.L. Chapter 23A, Section 3K for projects that aim to work in close partnership with MOBD Regional Directors to support businesses in Massachusetts, aligning with the state's Economic Development Plan, and to advance regionally based efforts to nurture and facilitate economic growth and prosperity. Applicants should include ways their organization improves equity, affordability, and competitiveness in their regions.

Program Purpose

Per M.G.L. Chapter 23A, Section 3J, the purpose of the program is “…to support regionally based efforts to stimulate, encourage, facilitate and nurture economic growth and prosperity in the commonwealth including, but not limited to, the identification of regional competitive strengths, challenges and opportunities, regional cluster development strategies, long-range regional workforce skills, pipeline, transportation and land use planning and other systems-based activities related to the growth and retention of existing businesses and the attraction of new businesses into the commonwealth. 

The Betenbough Homes Community Grant is designed to support 501(c)(3) organizations that serve communities in West Texas, particularly Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland, and Odessa. The grant aims to enhance organizational efforts rather than cover operating costs. Non-evangelical organizations can apply for up to $7,500, while evangelical organizations may receive up to $20,000. Applications should be submitted at least eight weeks before the funding deadline.

The Procter & Gamble Strategic Fund Grant aims to enhance lives through impactful initiatives such as infant development, hygiene, and oral care. As a highly competitive fund, it supports IRS-designated 501(c)(3) organizations that provide national programs where P&G can uniquely add value. Interested applicants should carefully assess their eligibility and align with the grant's specific focus areas before applying.

The Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation's System Reform Award promotes community impact through collaborative efforts addressing systemic inequities. This grant supports initiatives that drive policy change and foster sustainable outcomes in education, health, and economic opportunities across Western Montgomery County and surrounding areas. Nonprofits and public entities are eligible, focusing on innovative solutions to eliminate barriers and enhance community advocacy. Applications vary based on funding needs, ensuring tailored support for impactful projects.

The Okanogan Valley Fund Grant, administered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, supports charitable organizations in Okanogan County. With a minimum award of $2,000, it aims to enhance the quality of life through various projects in arts, education, environment, and health. Eligible applicants include 501c3 public charities, while government and faith-based organizations can apply for specific projects. There is no wait period, allowing annual applications.

The Upper Valley Fund Grant, offered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, supports 501c3 public charities and project-specific funding for government and faith-based organizations in select areas. Grants can be up to $2,000, with no wait period for annual applications. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of life through arts, education, environment, and health services, ensuring that the region's charitable needs are met effectively.

The Chelan Valley Fund Grant, offered by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, supports charitable causes that enhance the quality of life for residents in Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. Eligible organizations include 501c3 public charities and certain faith-based groups for project-specific funding. Grants start at $2,000, with no wait period for annual applications. This initiative aims to benefit the community through arts, education, health, and social services.

The Cashmere Fund Grant, provided by the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, supports charitable organizations that enhance the quality of life for Cashmere residents. Grants, starting at a minimum of $2,000, can be applied for annually without a wait period. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations in Cashmere, with specific funding available for project-related support from government agencies and faith-based organizations. Grants start at $2,000 and are available for 501c3 public charities and specific project funding for government and faith-based organizations. The competitive review process prioritizes projects in arts, education, health, and public benefit, ensuring impactful contributions to the community.

The Houston Affiliate Grantmaking Program, supported by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, aims to enhance the quality of life for Houston residents through impactful grantmaking. This grant facilitates funding for new or expanded programs focused on in-demand skills training, allowing applicants to cover various operational costs like curricula development and technology. The program emphasizes sustainable and impactful solutions that foster job creation and economic growth while addressing the needs of local industries and trainees.

The Steuben County REMC Operation Round Up Grant supports nonprofit organizations that enhance the quality of life in Steuben County. Applications are accepted quarterly, and projects that address root causes and foster collaboration are prioritized. The fund aims to stimulate economic development while uplifting community members through philanthropic initiatives. Eligible projects must primarily benefit residents of Steuben County, and special consideration is given to those aligned with the strategic goals of established nonprofits.

The CERSP Grant Program, administered by Harlem CDC, aims to provide financial assistance for initiatives and events that align with the mission of Harlem CDC. Funded through contributions from Columbia University, this program supports community and economic revitalization efforts in New York State, promoting local economic growth and job creation. With a focus on inclusivity and development, CERSP seeks to enhance the quality of life and opportunities within diverse neighborhoods.

The AmeriCorps 2026-27 Service Year Competitive Grants, offered by the Massachusetts Service Alliance, aim to enhance volunteerism across the state. These grants provide vital funding for organizations to develop or expand AmeriCorps programs, fostering community engagement and service. With options for Cost-Reimbursement, Fixed-Amount, and Education Award Only grants, MSA supports diverse initiatives to improve the quality of life in Massachusetts. This initiative has a proven track record, empowering organizations to address community needs effectively.

The Pathways to the C-Suite Internship, organized by the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, aims to empower recent graduates by pairing them with top private sector executives. This in-person program runs from January 10 to May 1, 2026, offering housing and a stipend. Candidates must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be U.S. citizens or have work permits, and possess a strong interest in public policy and governance. This initiative fosters leadership and civic engagement in diverse communities.

The CBCF State Farm Communications Internship offers recent graduates a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in press and media relations on Capitol Hill. Running from January 10 to May 1, 2026, interns will receive housing and a stipend of $4000. Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, U.S. work authorization, and a strong interest in public service. This program aims to cultivate leadership and empower the Black community through civic engagement.

The CBCF Walmart Emerging Leaders Internship aims to empower young leaders through hands-on experience in public policy. Running from January 10 to May 1, 2026, this program supports interns with a $4000 stipend and housing, while fostering essential skills for leadership and civic engagement. Candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5, hold U.S. citizenship or a work permit, and demonstrate a commitment to public service. This initiative reflects CBCF's mission to uplift the Black community by nurturing future leaders.

The Global Awareness Fund, managed by the Boreal Waters Community Foundation, supports initiatives that foster understanding and cooperation among diverse cultures. Focused on issues like peace, justice, and environmental sustainability, the Fund backs projects such as educational programs, media productions, and community dialogues. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, governmental entities, and tribal governments serving specific regions in Wisconsin and Minnesota. This initiative aims to enhance civil society and promote global citizenship.

NIFA requests applications for grants under the RCDG program for FY 2025 to improve the economic condition of rural areas by helping nonprofit organizations who in turn provide technical assistance to start, expand, or improve cooperatives and mutually owned businesses in rural areas. This notice is being issued to allow applicants sufficient time to leverage financing and prepare and submit their applications. This notice identifies the goals and objectives, eligibility criteria, and application forms and instructions.

The purpose of the RCDG program is to enable nonprofit institutions to establish and operate centers for rural cooperative development (Center). The primary objective of the program is to improve the economic condition of rural areas by helping nonprofit organizations who in turn provide technical assistance to start, expand, or improve cooperatives and mutually owned businesses in rural areas.

The goals of a Center funded under this subsection shall be to facilitate the creation of jobs in rural areas through the development of new rural cooperatives, value added processing, and rural businesses.

The OpenAI A People-First AI Fund supports U.S.-based nonprofits with 501(c)(3) status, focusing on AI literacy, community innovation, and economic opportunity. It aims to enhance public understanding of AI, promote participatory design in AI applications by communities, and expand access to meaningful work through inclusive practices. Organizations at all stages of AI adoption are encouraged to apply, especially those addressing the needs of traditionally marginalized populations. This initiative emphasizes equitable distribution of AI benefits.

The Regional Investment Initiative's Implementation Phase aims to support California's disadvantaged communities by funding economic development projects that align with regional Jobs First Strategies. With up to $125 million in available grants, the initiative focuses on creating good-paying jobs, fostering equitable economic growth, and investing in workforce development. This approach seeks to transition California to a clean energy economy while ensuring prosperity for all through targeted investments in job training, business development, and innovative practices.

The Pharmacy Support Program, initiated by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO), aims to enhance access to pharmacy services across Illinois. This initiative will provide grants to a statewide retail association representing pharmacies, particularly focusing on critical access care pharmacies and those serving underserved populations. The program emphasizes equitable economic opportunities and supports pharmacies facing challenges in areas with low population density and high poverty levels.

KKR Event Sponsorships supports collaborations and programs that address current needs while fostering future growth. The Corporate Citizenship program emphasizes philanthropy, employee engagement, and sustainable community initiatives. Through KKR Cares, employees contribute their skills and time to benefit communities globally. The program focuses on economic opportunity and security, aiding small businesses, social enterprises, and underserved communities through grants, ultimately driving positive outcomes and resilience.

The Detroit Lakes Area Community Foundation (DLACF) Grant provides financial support to enhance community engagement and strengthen social bonds in the Detroit Lakes, Minnesota area. Focused on grants for capital improvements and equipment purchases, it welcomes applications from 501(c)(3) nonprofits and government units within 15 miles of the 56501 zip code. Grant requests are reviewed quarterly, but operating expenses and individual funding are not eligible.

The Shelton Family Foundation Grant supports IRS tax-exempt organizations in Abilene and the Big Country area. Established in 1996, the foundation honors the legacy of A.B. “Stormy” Shelton by funding projects in areas such as basic human services, education, health, and community development. Grant proposals are accepted year-round, with reviews conducted in February and August. This initiative aims to address local needs and foster community well-being.

The Three Lakes Community Foundation, established in 2013, supports initiatives that enhance community life in Three Lakes. With over $120,000 in grants awarded, the foundation aims to foster partnerships among local nonprofits and enhance services in education, health, and the arts. They invite grant requests from organized groups, ensuring a focus on projects that benefit the public and uphold community values. The foundation prioritizes innovative ideas that differentiate Three Lakes from other communities.

The Three Lakes Community Foundation, established in 2013, provides Short Form Grants under $1000 to support local innovative projects. These grants aim to enhance community quality of life, support education, arts, and community development, and foster collaboration among local nonprofits. Eligible applicants include local nonprofits, schools, and government entities. The Foundation prioritizes projects that promote community efficiency and distinguish Three Lakes from other areas, ensuring the longevity and vibrancy of the community.
