Only organizations invited by the Board can apply, with one application accepted per year from each organization. Grants are restricted to the North West United States, specifically Idaho, Utah, Montana, and Wyoming. Social Drivers of Health Grants

To qualify for Social Drivers of Health grant funding, your program or service must align with at least one of these social drivers of health priorities:

• Improve nutrition security
• Improve stable and quality housing through wraparound and support services

Requirements

• A full and complete financial audit conducted within the last two years. Submission must include the entire audit, including any findings and the auditor's letter
• A copy of the organization's 501(c)(3) designation letter or comparable government designation
• A completed W9
• A completed Supplier Form (a blank copy will be provided in the application)

Additional information

• Applications will be accepted for new or existing programs that clearly address a social driver of health. New programs may include pilot initiatives.
• In Utah and Idaho, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $100,000 per year for 3 years (up to $300,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• In Colorado, Montana, and Nevada, applicants can request a total grant award between $5,000 to $50,000 per year for 2 years (up to $100,000 total) for the entire project period. Projects can last between 12 and 36 months and must begin upon receipt of funding.
• Budget Limitation - A funding request may not exceed 20 percent of an organization’s annual operating budget, e.g., to be eligible for a $50,000 grant, your organization’s annual operating budget must be at least $250,000.
• In general, small equipment and materials, such as jump ropes or cooking utensils are eligible, at no more than a total $5,000 cost, but large equipment, construction, and capital costs are not eligible. Consideration will be given if computer equipment is necessary and vital to the success of the project.

The Pacific Power Foundation provides Education/STEM Grants aimed at enhancing community vitality through charitable investments. With over $1 million awarded in 2021, eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, educational institutions, and youth organizations. The foundation emphasizes initiatives in electrical safety, energy efficiency, and workforce development. Grants are available in four cycles to ensure thorough evaluation of requests. Exclusions apply to organizations that discriminate or operate outside the service areas of Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power.

Nonprofit and community organizations improving behavioral health and social connection for older adult kinship or grand-family caregivers in Idaho can seek up to US $50,000 for whole person health programs. Cambia Health Foundation supports initiatives that increase social connection, expand access to mental health services, and reduce barriers to aging well across its four-state region.

National Housing Innovation Grant Competition

Home is foundational. It’s where we plant roots, raise and care for our families, and build community bonds. Yet in every corner of the country, millions of people of all ages and backgrounds need a home they can afford.

Wells Fargo is meeting this moment with a powerful grant opportunity. Together with Enterprise, Wells Fargo has launched the third iteration of the Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge. The 2026 cycle of the housing innovation competition will identify and propel proven, ready-to-scale solutions that transform current practices and increase housing choice and access.

Eligible applicants will compete for five individual grants of $2 million to advance their innovation and drive meaningful, systems-level change in the housing and adjacent industries. Winners will gain access to mentorship and coaching from industry leaders and experts and join a powerful network of Breakthrough Challenge innovators.

Focus Areas

This third cycle of the Housing Affordability Breakthrough Challenge aims to meet the nation’s affordable housing challenges across all types of communities: Native, rural, suburban, tribal, and urban.

Proposals must encompass one or more of three focus areas:

The Forever Idaho Regional Grant Program, managed by the Idaho Community Foundation, supports nonprofit organizations in Eastern Idaho. With grants ranging from $3,000 to $8,000, it prioritizes projects in areas like arts, community benefit, education, environment, health, and housing stability. This initiative fosters collaboration and addresses evolving community needs, ensuring that charitable efforts effectively enhance the quality of life for Idahoans. Organizations in specific counties are encouraged to apply for these impactful grants.

The Pacific Power Foundation offers Community Enhancement and Environmental Respect Grants to support nonprofit organizations in the Pacific Power and Rocky Mountain Power service areas. Since 2019, the foundation has contributed over $13 million to promote community resilience, affordable housing, and environmental conservation. Eligible candidates include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and educational institutions. Grants aim to address local needs while ensuring responsible environmental stewardship, enhancing community vitality, and fostering sustainable development.

The Idaho Workforce Development Council offers an Employer Grant to support local businesses in expanding their workforce or retraining existing employees for economic growth. Grants can provide up to $500,000 per project, aimed at enhancing skills for better job opportunities. The program emphasizes innovation, best practices in talent development, and improving economic mobility. Eligible employers must meet wage standards and provide health benefits, while temporary positions are not eligible for funding.

The purpose of this program is to expand access to evidence-based treatment for OUD by supporting Traveling OBOT programs that deliver MOUD and related services in community-based, nontraditional settings. Funded programs will implement low-barrier, patient-centered care models that meet individuals where they are, particularly those in underserved and high-need communities, including people experiencing homelessness, justice-involved individuals, and residents of rural areas with limited access to treatment. This initiative seeks to improve timely access to care, increase retention in treatment, and reduce opioid-related morbidity and mortality in Idaho through flexible, community- based service delivery. Programs are also expected to integrate evidence-based interventions, behavioral health services, and linkages to social supports, while advancing health equity and addressing disparities in access to OUD treatment.

Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation’s Impact Grant Program 

The Lewis-Clark Valley Healthcare Foundation’s Impact Grant Program will fund one-year requests to support projects and initiatives that promote the health, wellness, or disease prevention of persons within the Foundation Service Area in a manner that respects the religious, ethical, and more principles of the Roman Catholic Church and adheres to the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services. The Foundation Service Area includes nine counties: Clearwater, Idaho, Latah, Lewis and Nez Perce Counties in Idaho; Asotin, Garfield and Whitman Counties in Washington; and, Wallowa County in Oregon.

The large Impact Grant is intended for requests from $25,000 to $100,000. Priority will be given to applications that demonstrate a commitment to a long-term vision, and projects that address the root causes that affect health, wellness, and help prevent disease.

The Foundation looks forward to supporting non-profit agencies in responding to those needs.

The Forever Idaho Regional Grant Program, managed by the Idaho Community Foundation, connects donors with community needs to foster impactful solutions. Established in 1988, this program supports various initiatives across Idaho, including arts, education, health, and housing stability. Grants are available for diverse operating expenses, allowing nonprofits to address pressing local issues effectively. The program emphasizes community-driven philanthropy and adapts to the evolving requirements of Idaho's communities.

The Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation Grant aims to foster a philanthropic corporate culture by supporting local nonprofit organizations focused on the welfare of vulnerable children and families. The Foundation prioritizes cash grants to organizations addressing food, housing, health, safety, and education needs in communities served by Sunwest Bank. Eligible nonprofits must align with the Foundation's mission and engage in a transparent application process, with extra consideration given to organizations where Sunwest employees volunteer.

The Rural Health Care Access Program (RHCAP) - Dental Care aims to enhance access to primary medical and dental services in underserved Idaho communities. With a maximum funding of $35,000 for one year, RHCAP supports projects addressing Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA) and Medically Underserved Areas (MUA). Eligible applicants include registered non-profits and government entities. The program focuses on removing barriers to healthcare, including socioeconomic and geographic factors.

The Rural Health Care Access Program (RHCAP) - Primary Care aims to enhance access to primary medical and dental care in underserved Idaho communities. With funding up to $35,000 available for one-year projects, RHCAP targets areas designated as Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA) and Medically Underserved Areas (MUA). Projects may focus on community development, telehealth, or clinician recruitment, addressing barriers to care while fostering partnerships for improved healthcare delivery.

The Foster Foundation Grant supports organizations in the Pacific Northwest that align with priority funding issues such as social services, education, medical research, and community engagement. The foundation seeks to cultivate long-term partnerships and is committed to improving community life through various initiatives. Eligible organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) status and address one of the foundation's priority issues while ensuring that funds are used within the designated geographic reach.

The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation supports arts and culture organizations through grants typically ranging from $2,000 to $5,000, with a focus on enhancing community vitality. Eligible organizations include nonprofits dedicated to performing arts, visual arts, and historic preservation. The foundation operates on a quarterly grant cycle, ensuring careful review of applications. Grants are limited to tax-exempt organizations, and the foundation does not fund projects outside its service areas in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, and California.
