Our committed local chapters, divisions, committees, programs, and well-trained leaders help newly blind people adjust to vision loss, and promote the full participation and integration of blind people in our communities. Technology Grant

The NFB of CT Technology Grant will be awarded twice per calendar year. Grants are awarded twice per calendar year and each award shall not exceed $500.00. The first applications will be accepted from January 31st to April 30th for an award to be announced on June 1st. The second application period is from July 31st to September 30th with an award announced at the State Convention.

The committee will review applications and announcements will be made as specified. Currently the Grant is awarded at cost of need but will not exceed $500.00. Purchases are made through the NFBCT Office. Should the item cost more than the award amount, awardee will pay to the Office the needed difference prior to the purchase.

Harlow Grant

The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven (www.cfgnh.org) is a philanthropic institution whose mission is to build a more connected, inclusive, equitable and philanthropic community in Greater New Haven. The Foundation has committed support for The Harlow Grant, which will be administered by the NFB of CT and is a means through which Connecticut's blind and visually impaired community can receive assistance in the pursuit of training, education, employment, independent living and technological advancement.

Program Description

The Harlow Grant is designed for easier and more frequent access to support opportunities. The intention of this program is to facilitate a higher yield of blind community support through a manner that is as equitable as possible. Grants will be disbursed directly to vendors.

The Harlow Grants will be offered, evaluated, and awarded quarterly. Below is a chart of the application deadlines and contact dates for award periods.

The 1772 Foundation offers Connecticut Historic Preservation Matching Grants of up to $10,000 for various preservation projects, including exterior painting, surface restoration, and structural repairs.
