The Community Micro Grants by the Sturgis Area Community Foundation (SACF) aim to enhance the quality of life in St. Joseph County, Michigan. Lake-Geauga Fund

The Lake Geauga Fund, established in 1988 at the Cleveland Foundation, aims to promote community philanthropy and strategic grantmaking to support transformative projects in Lake and Geauga counties.

Impact Areas 

Capital: Focus on new projects that provide a direct benefit to the community. This includes both pre-development and capital needs. 

Capital projects should accomplish one of the following: 

• Strategic and Long-Term Focus: Has a generational impact, not a focus on day-to-day operations.  
• Community Centered: Aim to enhance quality of life or address critical community needs.   
• Sustainability: Incorporate LEED environmental standards. 
• Advances the advantage and competitiveness of the region. 
• The organization demonstrates financial stability and sound operations 

Economic Development: Support for projects and programs that strive to improve economic and workforce conditions in Lake and Geauga Counties for its residents. 

Economic Development projects should accomplish one of the following: 

• Increase the number of individuals qualified for high-demand, high-growth jobs in through training and/or upskilling. 
• Addresses barriers to individuals engaging in work or workforce development.  
• Support growth of small- and mid-sized businesses.  
• Expand resources for entrepreneurs starting new businesses. 

Critical Knowledge and Infrastructure: Support infrastructure and systems needed in order to achieve catalytic community impact. 

Critical Knowledge and Infrastructure projects should accomplish at least one of the following:  

• Improve implementation ability for an organization executing catalytic or transformative projects.  
• Pilot innovative operating structures to promote efficiency, quality, and community-wide impact.  
• New models or unique partnerships that will improve impact. 

The Southeast Asian Economic Disparities Relief Competitive Grant aims to alleviate economic disparities within Southeast Asian communities by funding workforce recruitment, development, job creation, and capacity-building initiatives. Targeting individuals of Southeast Asian descent aged 18 and older, including Hmong, Lao, Vietnamese, and other groups, the grant seeks qualified proposals that enhance outreach and support smaller organizations in their efforts to serve these communities effectively.

The United Way of Greater St. Louis Targeted Funding aims to provide flexible, one-year grants to nonprofits addressing urgent community needs through emergency, emergent, or innovative approaches. Funding will focus on basic needs, health and wellness, crisis response, and more across 16 counties. Priority will be given to areas identified as having the greatest needs based on recent assessments, ensuring that support is directed where it is most needed.

The Workforce Development Capital Grant Program provides up to $35 million in funding to enhance workforce training capabilities in New York. This initiative supports training providers aiming to modernize facilities and purchase necessary equipment to deliver industry-recognized credentials. With awards ranging from $100,000 to $3 million, the program focuses on responsiveness to industry needs, increasing workforce participation, and improving training for underserved populations.

The Broadwater County Development Corporation offers a Marketing Grant aimed at promoting events that boost economic development in Broadwater County. This initiative encourages local organizations to attract visitors, thereby supporting local businesses. Grants are available for up to $500 for BCDC members and $250 for non-members. The Bolton Foundation is transitioning to the IMA Foundation grant program, enhancing collaboration and increasing funding potential for California-based nonprofits. Focus areas include community development, education, youth services, and multiculturalism, with grants up to $10,000 available. Applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) organizations located in California and demonstrate benefit to the community. The Sales Tax Exclusion (STE) Program, managed by the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA), provides significant tax incentives for manufacturers in California who invest in equipment aimed at promoting alternative energy, advanced transportation, and recycling. The Designated Legislative (DL) Grants program allows communities and organizations in Alaska to seek funding through their state senators and representatives for capital projects.
