Ottawa County Public Health Fund

The Ottawa County Public Health Fund was established in response to the Kansas Health Foundation’s second chapter of the Giving Resources to our World (GROW II) match grant challenge.

Grants from this fund support the public health of Ottawa County. Public health is defined as the protection and promotion of the health and well-being of individuals and their communities through encouragement of healthy lifestyles, behaviors and environments.

Funding for this grant is also supported by the Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Ottawa County.

What type of support is funded?

Dabo's All in Team Foundation Grant Program aims to support local South Carolina organizations in need of financial assistance for projects that align with its mission to address critical education and health issues. This initiative fosters collaboration among groups dedicated to improving lives across the state, ensuring that valuable ideas receive the support they deserve.

The WDA Foundation Annual Grant Program provides financial support to non-profit programs that enhance oral health for low-income residents in Wisconsin. Applications are open to 501(c)(3) organizations operating within the state, focusing on increasing access to dental care. The program aims to foster volunteerism and educate communities about oral health. Notably, funding excludes individuals and certain expenses, ensuring resources are dedicated to direct support of oral health initiatives.

The Range Resources Good Neighbors Fund Grants support nonprofit organizations providing emergency management services in their core operating area. This Friends and Family Scholarship is the second offering from the Kiwanis Club of Wilton Manors. In partnership with the Florida Kiwanis Foundation, they believe that there is a need for those who wish to further their education, with a focus toward students that have a sincere desire to succeed, and may have difficulty qualifying for other scholarships or grants.

The Nancy Saunders Medical Education Fund, established in 2019, aims to support graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in medicine, including MDs, DOs, PAs, and NPs. Applicants must be Hawaii residents, demonstrate financial need, and maintain full-time enrollment at accredited institutions. Preference is given to those with a minimum GPA of 3.0, residents of Maui, and individuals intending to practice in Maui post-graduation. This fund seeks to enhance medical education accessibility for dedicated students.

The Nathalie Y. Lee Scholarship Fund, established in 2022, provides financial support to students pursuing higher education in Hawaii. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and be residents of Hawaii. Preference is given to full-time students of Chinese ancestry, first-generation college attendees, and those who have been involved in the foster care system. Previous recipients may reapply if they continue to meet eligibility requirements.

This scholarship is dedicated to his wife, Emilia Gugliuzza for her tireless efforts in helping to eliminate Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus and her support of family, friends, and Kiwanis.

The David and Donna Batelaan Fund provides three grant opportunities aimed at supporting Service Leadership Programs, including Aktion Club, Builders Club, and Key Clubs. Grants typically cover project costs up to $2,000 and are awarded in two cycles: October to March and April to September. There are three opportunities for this grant: Kiwanis Clubs/Divisions; Service Leadership Programs: Builders Club, Key Clubs and Circle K Clubs; and Service Leadership Programs of Aktion Club.

Service Leadership Programs: Builders Club, Key Clubs and Circle K Clubs

The purpose of this portion of the fund is to award grants to support Builders Club, Key Clubs and Circle K Clubs or division projects. Grants are awarded to a Florida Builders Club, Key Club and Circle K Kiwanis Club or division by use of the official application form that is provided by division trustees. 

Grants may be made to initiate a project, including a major change, addition, or renovation to a project. Funds to sustain the functioning of a project on an on-going basis must be provided by a club or division.

Grants must be used to assist a Florida Service Leadership Program Club or Division projects.

The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Predoctoral Fellowship Program offers an enriching opportunity for graduate students in astronomy-related fields. Established in 1985, it enables students to conduct research under the guidance of experienced SAO scientists. The fellowship lasts six months or longer, with compensation starting at $42,588 annually, increasing to $49,000 from July 2024. Applicants must be enrolled in a full-time Ph.D. program and ready for dissertation research, ensuring a robust academic experience.

Teacher Mentorship and Retention Grant (TMRG) – FY27 – State Funds

The Minnesota Department of Education makes this funding available to Minnesota School Districts, Tribally Controlled Schools, Charter Schools, Cooperative Units, and Coalition of Teachers for the purpose of developing, sustaining, and expanding mentorship programs in order to increase retention and effectiveness of teachers in their first three years of teaching, especially teachers from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups.

• $3,395,000

The Oscar & Rosetta Fish Fund, established by a dedicated couple from Hawaii, supports students pursuing higher education in Business Administration. Eligible applicants must reside in Hawaii, demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0, and attend any University of Hawaii campus except Manoa. Preference is given to previous recipients who continue to meet these criteria and maintain good academic standing. This fund aims to empower young individuals and foster academic success.

David Webb Memorial Scholarship

To provide financial support for graduates of Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Faith, Dupree, Timber Lake, Mc Laughlin and McIntosh High School.
