Best Green Infrastructure Grants

The Adirondack Park Community Smart Growth Grant Program, managed by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, offers funding to enhance community livability and sustainable development in the Adirondack and Catskill Parks. • Incremental costs related to retrofitting vehicles to operate on alternative fuels;
• Incremental costs to purchase alternative fuel vehicles;
• Cost to purchase and install the necessary fleet-refueling or home-refueling equipment for alternative fuel vehicles;
• Cost to perform research, training, development, and demonstration of new applications or next-phase technology related to alternative fuel vehicles.

The Reclamation and Development Grants Program (RDGP) Planning Grants support projects aimed at restoring environmental damage caused by non-renewable resource extraction. Funded by the state, these grants assist local governments in planning projects that repair, reclaim, and mitigate ecological harm, ensuring the sustainability of public resources. The New Leaf Fund was established in 2025 by a Greenville native with a passion for conservation.

The Foundation encourages grant requests that include the protection of land and waterfront areas, increased tree cover and access to green spaces, and the protection and restoration of historical properties, in the City of Greenville, in Greenville County, and, to a lesser degree, in the Upstate.
