The Costume Society of America (CSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded on March 23, 1973, and incorporated in the state of New York on September 12, 1973. CSA serves it members, and promotes its goals with national symposia and publications including the journal Dress and its monthly electronic newsletter CSA e-News.

The organization began forming regional groups in 1978. There are six regional groups in the United States and Canada, and one international group. Individual regions hold annual meetings, sponsor programs and publish newsletters.

Midwest Region Student Travel Award

Each year, CSA travel funding in an amount up to $750 is available for a Midwest Region Student Member to present at the National Symposium of The Costume Society of America. Awards may be distributed among multiple student members.

Focused on partnerships and outreach to underrepresented communities, the initiative seeks to promote healthy behaviors, prevent illness, and improve health outcomes through informed decision-making.

The Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants in Iowa support rural communities in preparing for or recovering from emergencies that threaten access to safe drinking water. Potential qualifying events include droughts, floods, and chemical spills. Grants can fund water transmission line projects up to $150,000 and water source construction up to $1,000,000. Retirees of Regions and its affiliated companies are eligible for the Matching Gift Program for up to 5 years after retirement (the gift date must be within the first 5 years of retirement). Regions will match donations of $25 or more, up to a total of $1,000 per year per retiree.

2025-2026 WBL-LIFT (Work-Based Learning Leadership & Investment for Field Training)

Strengthening the Work-Based Learning Educator Pipeline Through Targeted Professional Preparation

Iowa school districts will have the opportunity to strengthen the educator pipeline for Work-Based Learning (WBL) through the WBL-Leadership & Investment for the Field (LIFT) Grant Opportunity. WBL-LIFT, or Work-Based Learning Leadership and Investment for Field Training, is designed to support the recruitment, preparation, and retention of career and technical education (CTE) educators by expanding access to WBL-focused professional development and credentialing pathways.

This competitive opportunity will support efforts to increase the number of educators qualified to lead, supervise, and sustain high-quality Work-Based Learning programs in Iowa. Through this initiative, school districts may support professional learning and credentialing connected to the Multioccupations (MOC) Endorsement, the Work Experience Coordinator (WEC) Endorsement, and the Work-Based Learning Supervisor Authorization.

High-quality Work-Based Learning depends on educators who are prepared to coordinate student experiences, build employer partnerships, manage program quality, and support safe and effective learning in workplace-connected settings. WBL-LIFT is intended to strengthen statewide capacity by supporting both early-career and transitioning teachers, while also helping school districts build stronger local systems for WBL delivery.

This opportunity is intended to help school districts:

• Increase the number of educators holding WBL-related endorsements or authorizations
• Support early-career and transitioning teachers entering Work-Based Learning roles
• Strengthen educator preparation tied to high-quality WBL program design and coordination
• Improve local and statewide capacity to deliver sustainable, high-quality Work-Based Learning experiences
• Build stronger systems for educator support, credential attainment, and program implementation

By investing in educator preparation and credentialing, WBL-LIFT will help strengthen Iowa’s capacity to deliver authentic, high-quality Work-Based Learning experiences for students across the state. Expanding the number of WBL-qualified educators will support stronger school-employer partnerships, more effective coordination of student experiences, and increased access to career-connected learning opportunities.

Funding for this opportunity is provided through Iowa’s Work-Based Learning Clearinghouse State Appropriation.

On a competitive grant basis, this opportunity will allow school districts to expand educator access to Work-Based Learning-focused preparation, endorsements, and authorizations that support local program development and long-term sustainability.

FY27 RFP COAEREF27001 for Refugee Mentoring

Purpose

The purpose of this RFP #COAEREF27001 is to select qualified applicants to provide Youth Mentoring (YM) services to Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligible youth ages 15–24 in Iowa, consistent with ORR guidance. Program goals are to promote positive civic/social engagement and support educational/vocational advancement. Services include matching youth with mentors (one-on-one or group) and providing case management to support educational and career development, within five years of the youth’s date of eligibility.  The Agency anticipates awarding multiple contracts from this procurement. 

Preschools and other educational organizations in Iowa can seek funding for one-time, short-term dental health education projects, such as providing educational kits and oral health supplies. Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation’s Smile Grants offer up to US $5,000, with applications opening in January and accepted on an ongoing basis until funds are allocated.

The Community Possible Grant Program by U.S. Bank aims to foster economic and workforce advancement, as well as safe and affordable housing. By partnering with 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations, the program seeks to drive lasting change within communities through collaborative grantmaking. Priority is given to organizations that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion, and that address multiple pillars of work, home, and play. This initiative reflects U.S. Bank's commitment to creating a more equitable society.

Iowa health-focused organizations, including those serving preschool-aged children, can apply for Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation’s System and Capacity Building Grants; awards more than US $25,000 for infrastructure, equipment, or major system changes. Funding supports oral health, integration of oral and overall health, and overall health through education, advocacy, access, prevention, policy, and research.

Iowa-based organizations running community health, wellness, or preventive healthcare projects can apply for Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation’s Community Health Grants, offering US $10,000 - US $100,000. Preschools and early childhood programs in Iowa may be eligible if their initiatives advance oral health, wellness, or community health education for children and families.

The Windgate Charitable Trust Grant supports contemporary craft and visual arts in the U.S. It offers funding for fellowships, residencies, educational outreach, and materials for craft programs. The foundation prioritizes strengthening visual arts in colleges and expanding K-12 art-integrated programs, providing opportunities for artists and educators to enhance their skills and foster creativity among students. Organizations with previous funding from Windgate can apply through the grantee portal.

The ALDI Community Gift Card Program provides financial support ranging from $100 to $1,000 to eligible nonprofits and schools that focus on after-school and out-of-school youth programs, as well as food banks. This initiative aims to empower organizations dedicated to child development and combating food insecurity. By applying, you can gain access to essential resources to further your mission and make a positive impact in your community.

The FY26 Defense Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (DEPSCoR) Capacity Building opportunity aims to enhance the capabilities of university researchers in eligible states. Managed by the DoD, this initiative focuses on increasing the number of researchers capable of conducting relevant science and engineering research. The program also seeks to strengthen institutions of higher education and improve their competitiveness for federal research funding, ultimately fostering long-term growth in financial assistance for scientific research.

The CHS Foundation's Ag Leadership Grant aims to enhance agricultural leadership and cooperative education. This program supports projects that cultivate a diverse pipeline for future agricultural leaders, focusing on education and career training for high school students to young professionals. Priority is given to initiatives that impact multiple states within the CHS trade area, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of the cooperative business model in agriculture.

The purpose of the Harriet H. Werley New Investigator Award is to recognize the scientific contribution of a new investigator who has conducted nursing research that has the potential to enhance the science and practice of nursing.

The Mosaic Company Foundation Community Investment Grant aims to create a lasting impact in communities by supporting initiatives in three key areas: Food, Water, and Local Community. With an annual investment of approximately $12 million, the foundation addresses food security, promotes water conservation, and enhances community sustainability. Eligible applicants must be recognized charitable organizations, primarily in North America, committed to improving quality of life through innovative solutions and partnerships.

The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation offers Program Support Grants to foster innovative programs and sustain existing initiatives that enhance the quality of life in Linn County, Iowa. With a funding cap of $15,000 for new projects and up to $30,000 for ongoing efforts, these grants are designed for nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) status or those partnered with a fiscal sponsor. The grants aim to promote effective community engagement and support vital local services.

The Miccio Foundation offers Standard and Mini Grants to organizations in Iowa dedicated to animal welfare. Eligible groups include shelters and humane societies with 501c3 status. Grants can fund projects like spay/neuter programs and facility renovations, aiming for immediate, measurable impacts in local communities. Standard grants may reach up to $10,000, while Mini grants offer up to $1,500. The Foundation prioritizes projects that enhance animal health and operational efficiency.

The Jean M. Walker Grant, administered by The Miccio Foundation, aims to enhance public awareness regarding the humane treatment of animals, focusing primarily on companion animals. It supports educational initiatives and actions to end inhumane treatments, such as workshops and media campaigns. Projects that demonstrate measurable impacts on animal welfare and can be replicated in other communities are particularly encouraged. Grants are available to qualifying organizations dedicated to animal welfare.

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes an MNRS member who has demonstrated sustained influential leadership and service to the organization, such as chairing committees, organizing annual conference activities, or serving on the Board of Directors. 

Iowa preschool-related nonprofits working on forestry, botanical conservation, or land and habitat conservation projects may be eligible for this program supporting restoration of diminished native tree species across the continental U.S. Iowa organizations can access funding through Oak Hill Fund for scientific research, seed orchard development, and forest land preservation tied to specific species restoration projects.
