The Kentucky Arts Council is now accepting applications for the new Kentucky Arts Rising (KAR) Grant, a program created to support small, community-based arts and cultural organizations that provide year-round arts programming for Kentuckians.

Kentucky Arts Rising offers $1,500 in operational support to help strengthen and sustain grassroots arts organizations with limited operating budgets.

Goals

Through the Kentucky Arts Rising program, we strive to work in collaboration with arts organizations across the commonwealth in order to:  

• Develop and maintain strong arts organizations,  
• Increase arts participation statewide, 
• Promote diverse arts and culture, and  
• Help build an efficient arts delivery system across the state. 

The Nationwide Fishing Trap Removal, Assessment, and Prevention (TRAP) Program aims to eliminate derelict fishing traps nationwide. Focused on collaboration, it emphasizes standardized data collection, quantifying impacts, and comprehensive data sharing. With an annual budget of up to $1,475,000, the program supports 6 to 15 projects, providing grants ranging from $50,000 to $200,000 for 18-month initiatives. This effort significantly enhances marine resource conservation by reducing bycatch mortality and removing abandoned traps.

Major Allen Broussard Scholarship

The Major Allen Broussard Scholarship was established in honor of Major Allen Broussard, who served as the Senior Marine Instructor of the Fern Creek High School Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps for over 18 years. The fund was founded by a group of Fern Creek High School graduates for whom Major Broussard was not just a teacher but a mentor. The fund is designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray vocational, trade, college, or university expenses of Fern Creek High School graduates who have participated in the Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (“JROTC”) and demonstrated exceptional leadership and citizenship qualities.

The Standard's Corporate Giving Program emphasizes community support and employee engagement, reflecting its foundational mission to enhance financial well-being. Joshua A. Sterling Scholarship

The Joshua A. Sterling Scholarship was designed to provide scholarship assistance in the form of grants to help defray expenses of any two-year or four-year college or university located in Kentucky, or any trade or vocational school located in Kentucky, of graduating seniors from Nelson County, Kentucky.

Scholarship awards are not automatically renewable. Students must reapply each year to be considered for renewal, although preference will be given to students who have received a grant in previous years. Students applying for renewal must show proof of part time work, including work study or unpaid internships, to qualify for renewal of a scholarship award.

Office of Agricultural Marketing

The mission of the Office of Agricultural Marketing is to assist farmers, agricultural businesses, and commodity groups in promoting and marketing their products by expanding existing markets and developing domestic and international markets for their goods and services. 

In addition to the Kentucky Proud program, the Office of Agricultural Marketing includes Direct Farm Marketing, Education & Outreach, Livestock Marketing, Plant Marketing, Promotion and Development and Shows and Fairs. 

Kentucky Proud Grant Opportunities

The Water and Waste Facility Loans and Grants program aims to provide safe drinking water and waste disposal services to low-income communities on Tribal lands, addressing significant health risks. Eligible applicants include federally-recognized Tribes, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Funding can be used for constructing essential water and waste systems, and while matching funds are typically required, a full grant is possible under certain conditions. Applications are accepted year-round.

The USDA Rural Development program provides essential loans and grants to improve water and waste disposal services in low-income communities, specifically targeting Colonias recognized before 1989. This initiative aims to alleviate health risks associated with inadequate access to safe drinking water and waste management. Eligible applicants include federally-recognized tribes and local governments, with funds supporting the construction of vital infrastructure to ensure community health and sustainability.

The MFA Oil Foundation Grant offers cash support to nonprofit organizations focused on enhancing communities where MFA Oil operates. The Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants in Kentucky provide crucial funding for communities facing emergencies that threaten safe drinking water access. Eligible applicants, including state and local governments and nonprofit organizations, can receive up to $1 million for water source projects or $150,000 for water transmission line improvements. This program aims to restore and improve water supply systems, particularly in rural areas, enhancing resilience against disasters like droughts and floods.

Zoeller Company Scholarship

The Zoeller Company Scholarship awards scholarships for career training expenses, undergraduate, or graduate level college or university expenses of children, between the ages of 17-24, whose parent or guardian is a current full-time or part-time employee of the Zoeller Company or any of its subsidiaries at the time of application.

The Ramseyer Ministry Education Grant, offered by the Kentucky Annual Conference and the Board of Ordained Ministry, aims to support clergy by providing funds for educational expenses. This scholarship seeks to uphold high professional and academic standards among clergy serving the conference. Women's Second Chance College Scholarship

The Women's Second Chance College Scholarship was established by Ms. Ruth Ann Tillman to provide assistance, through financial grants and mentoring, to women 25-40 years of age who have the determination and discipline to obtain a bachelor’s degree.
