Recovery High School Program

The goal of this state-funded continuation grant is to support the implementation of Recovery High School (RHS) Programs, as set forth in Massachusetts General Laws M.G.L. c. 71, § 91 . Operated in partnership with a public school or educational collaborative, Recovery High SchoolRHS programs offer Massachusetts students with a substance use disorder an alternative educational option in which they engage students in a process of growth and development to support their recovery while still working towards their high school diploma. These programs work with students to co-design plans and pathways that are personalized to each student’s needs and goals.

This grant supports the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's (Department's or DESE's) Educational Vision and priorities by supporting the whole student using culturally responsive practices to meet their academic needs and support their improved and continued attendance in school while preparing them to pursue their post-secondary goals.

The Mosaic Opioid Recovery Municipal Matching Grant aims to distribute $3.75 million to municipalities in Massachusetts over three years, supporting initiatives to address the opioid crisis. Funded by RIZE, the program matches municipal opioid settlement funds to enhance community efforts in prevention, harm reduction, and recovery services. Eligible projects can receive up to $50,000 individually or $150,000 through collaborative efforts, fostering partnerships among municipalities and nonprofit organizations to improve public health outcomes.
