4-H HTI Contractors 4-H Scholarship

The purpose of the HTI CONTRACTORS 4-H SCHOLARSHIP is to provide scholarships to graduating seniors or students already in college from any Carroll County Public high school accepted or already enrolled at an accredited college or technical school who has participated in the Carroll County 4-H Program for at least three years and has exhibited livestock during that time. The scholarship will be awarded to one male and one female who meet the criteria established for the fund.

About USA Track & Field Foundation Inc

• Graduating senior or graduating early college student who attends public, private, or home school in the primary service area of the Community Foundation
• Enrolling at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• Financial need (must submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Planning to pursue a career in the arts
• Recommended by applicant’s high school art teacher
• This scholarship is potentially renewable and supports one student at a time.

4-H John J. Mazur, Jr. Memorial 4-H Scholarship

The purpose of John J. Mazur, Jr. Memorial 4-H Scholarship is to provide scholarships for high-school graduates who have participated in Carroll County 4-H programs in livestock and photography.

The AMS Graduate Fellowship in the History of Science, offered by the American Meteorological Society, supports graduate students completing dissertations on atmospheric or related sciences. Danial & Joeanna Smith Education Scholarship

The scholarship was established through a bequest from the estate of Danial and Joeanna Smith for the purpose of providing educational scholarships to permanent residents of Van Buren County and who are planning to pursue a bachelor's degree at a four-year college/university. Additional application materials are required for this scholarship.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution.

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

The RWA Perseverance Fund, administered by the Romance Writers of America (RWA), supports members in financial need for their annual national dues. CASE Scholarship for Higher Learning

In an effort to encourage and retain membership, the Carroll Association of School Employees has established CASE SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGHER LEARNING, a scholarship fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County, Inc. The purpose of the Fund is to provide scholarships for CASE members’ children, stepchildren and grandchildren who want to continue their education or are graduating from high school and who have been accepted at an accredited institution of higher learning.

Catherine Anne Mullikin Memorial Scholarship

The Catherine Anne Mullikin Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by “Catherine’s Cause” a Carroll Community Foundation Fund. A drunk driver killed Catherine in 1998 and her family is keeping her memory alive by offering scholarships for students pursuing a degree in education. Student must maintain full time enrollment status (12 or more credit hours) during the entire semester that the scholarship award has been designated. The scholarship is based on academic achievement, community service and extracurricular activities.

$1000.00 Scholarship for a Teacher Education Major from Any Carroll County High School.

The MPS Mathematical Sciences Research Programs (MPS MathSci) by the NSF supports diverse research initiatives in theoretical and applied mathematical sciences. Key areas include Algebra, Applied Mathematics, Combinatorics, and Mathematical Biology. The program encourages groundbreaking foundational research with flexible budgets and durations. Crider/Bommersbach Scholarship Fund

This fund is being established to recognize all educational personnel who are committed to the success of all students, especially those who have struggled in traditional educational settings. This also celebrates those students who have continued to work through adversity to complete their high school education with clear plans for post-secondary goals. It also recognizes the vision and commitment of the Battle Creek Area Educator's Task Force who identified the need and established the Battle Creek Area Learning Center, operating as Calhoun Community High School, and the dedicated work of the educational professionals who have worked to make this vision a reality. Although it is labeled the Crider/Bommersbach Scholarship in honor of Charles Crider and Tom Bommersbach, the first Director and Counselor, it is truly a recognition of all of the staff and students and those in the community who celebrate the small and large successes of every student.

The Asheville Wilbert Vault Service Scholarship, established by The Community Foundation of Western North Carolina, offers financial aid to residents pursuing a career in funeral services. This scholarship is aimed at individuals from the 18 westernmost counties of North Carolina, including the Qualla Boundary. Eligible applicants must be seniors in secondary school or graduates and can apply funds to any relevant post-high school educational program. This initiative reflects the foundation's commitment to supporting local communities.

The American Institute of Physics offers Grants-in-Aid to support research in the history of the physical sciences. Aimed primarily at graduate students, the program also welcomes applications from undergraduates, postdoctoral researchers, and established scholars. Grants up to $2,500 are provided on a reimbursement basis for expenses such as travel and research assistance. Applications for research conducted globally are encouraged, including visits to the Niels Bohr Library & Archives.

Ted Vanden Bosch Scholarship for the Children of Police Officers, Firefighters, and Rescue Personnel

• Graduating senior or graduating early college student who attends public, private, or home school in the primary service area of the Community Foundation or in Fennville, Hamilton, or Saugatuck
• Enrolling at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• Financial need (must submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)
• GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Child of a firefighter, police officer, or rescue personnel
• Special consideration given to candidates interested in pursuing a degree in the sciences

The Society of the Order of the Southern Cross Grant aims to support charitable projects that preserve and restore Southern heritage artifacts and locations. Eligible projects may include military artifacts, monuments, and historical sites. Organizations typically need to secure 50% of necessary funding before applying. The Order encourages discussions for projects that may not meet standard funding levels, emphasizing their commitment to preserving cultural heritage.

Dr. Saleem Shah Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Saleem A. Shah Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by Catherine’s Cause, a Carroll County Community Foundation Fund. Dr. Shah a leading Psychologist with the National Institute of Health was hit head on in November of 1992 by a Drunk Driver on his way home. He left a family with a wife, six daughters and eight grandchildren at that time. Dr. Shah’s daughters regularly volunteer with Catherine’s Cause and are strong advocates on working to alert the public on the dangers of Drinking and Driving. To honor Dr. Shah’s memory the family along with Catherine’s Cause are offering this Scholarship in the field of Mental Health in his honor.

Service Club Alliance

The Service Club Alliance is a collaborative partnership between Midland area service clubs to coordinate efforts and simplify grantmaking for community organizations. The Service Club Alliance streamlines the grant process by using a common application for applicants who provide essential support to Midland County residents.

When an organization submits an application, it is automatically shared with all participating service clubs for review and consideration. This collective approach was established collaboratively by the participating clubs to ensure that community resources are allocated in the most effective and impactful way possible.

The Midland Area Community Foundation is not responsible for the grantmaking decisions made by the organizations below. We serve solely as the convenor of this alliance.

Clubs

Our grants typically range up to $5,000. Successful applicants must provide a project summary, including photos, within 12 months of completion.

There are two annual grant cycles.

Applicants who would like their request to be reviewed by Midland Rotary Foundation must have a Midland Noon Rotary Club member serve as a Sponsor to their request. The Sponsor must read the grant application ahead of submission. There is a field in the grant application form to include the Midland Noon Rotary Club sponsor name.

The Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) Scholarship, offered by the AAAE Foundation, provides financial support to aspiring leaders in aviation. With over $518,900 in scholarships available for 2025, this program aids students whose families are involved in the A.A.E. community. Applicants are evaluated based on academic performance, financial need, and community engagement. This initiative not only helps students pursue their education but also strengthens the future of the aviation industry.

The Detroit Economic Club Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students from Detroit and surrounding counties pursuing undergraduate education. Each year, two renewable scholarships of $2,000 are awarded to incoming college freshmen. Recipients can reapply for up to three additional years. The program is supported by the Detroit Economic Club Education Endowment Fund, dedicated to helping local students achieve their educational goals. The Cheryl Wojtas Memorial Scholarship Program honors Cheryl Wojtas's commitment to education by offering scholarships to deserving graduates from Port Huron Area Schools and Gaylord Community Schools. Each recipient will receive a one-time award for their freshman year at a nonprofit post-secondary institution, aimed at supporting their educational journey. Financial need is a key consideration, and funds will cover tuition, fees, and essential expenses related to their studies.

The Sandra Trudgen Dawson Award, established by the Coordinating Council for Women in History, commemorates the legacy of a remarkable scholar and leader. This award supports individuals in research, teaching, and service within women's and gender history, allowing recipients to cover costs for travel, materials, and projects that honor Sandra's commitment to collaboration and support in the field. It aims to foster connections among scholars and promote the advancement of women's history.

John Grason Steffey Scholarship

The purpose of the John Grason Steffey Scholarship is to provide scholarships for two graduates of Williamsport, Maryland, public high school, and if none qualify, then unto two high school students residing within Williamsport and the general vicinity thereof in Washington County, Maryland. The scholarships shall be for those students who may need or request assistance to attend schools of higher learning appropriate to develop their capacities and capabilities. Need for financial assistance shall be taken into consideration.

The amount of the award will vary based upon the earnings of the trust; but in no event shall be less than $1500 per year per scholarship.

The scholarships shall be for a maximum of four consecutive academic years. After the initial award the recipient must reapply to the selection committee each year. To be eligible to receive the subsequent years' award, the recipient must submit an official transcript from the institution they attend showing a 2.5 grade point average, and submit a letter of recommendation from an instructor or administrative person from the institution they attend.

The Urology Care Foundation's Health Equity Fellowship Grant aims to train early-career urologists dedicated to addressing healthcare disparities in marginalized communities. Over two years, fellows will engage in didactic education and hands-on advocacy projects, gaining skills to implement innovative solutions. The program emphasizes mentorship and collaboration with Temple University, providing a unique opportunity for urologists to enhance their understanding of urban bioethics and community engagement while receiving a recognized certification upon completion.

Marie’s Courageous Fight Lacrosse Scholarship honors the resilience, determination, and spirit of student-athletes who refuse to be defined by adversity. Inspired by Marie’s legacy of strength, perseverance, and courage this scholarship recognizes lacrosse players (1 male, 1 female) who have faced significant hardship yet continued to pursue excellence—on the field, in the classroom, and within their community.
