Arts Learning in Schools and In Community

New Mexico Arts offers two grant categories for arts education projects with K-12 school-age children: Arts Learning in Schools and Arts Learning in Community. Charter schools and 501 (c) (3) private schools and 501 (c) (3) organizations may apply for themselves. Public schools must apply through the parent-teacher organization if that organization is a 501 (c) (3) or through the school district.

Arts Learning in Community

Arts Learning in Community supports arts learning for K-12 school-age children outside of a school setting. These programs focus on creative process arts activities or the development of specific artistic skills and take place in 501 (c) 3 arts organizations. (Projects that take place in a K-12 public or a private school should apply in Arts Learning in Schools. Organizations whose primary purpose is the education of K-12 school-age students should apply in this category. Examples of these organizations include youth symphonies, teen performing arts organizations, visual arts education providers, and dance institutes.

The EDA Austin FY 2016–FY 2019 Planning Program and Local Technical Assistance Program aims to bolster regional economic development by providing grants that assist eligible organizations in creating and implementing Comprehensive Economic Development Strategies (CEDS). This initiative seeks to enhance the economic prosperity and resiliency of distressed areas, ultimately fostering job creation for the unemployed and underemployed. It emphasizes partnership planning and supports organizations, including Indian Tribes, in driving effective economic development.

We provide targeted and flexible grants that strengthen organizations holistically, rather than funding isolated programs. Our support enables these vital community partners to build resilient communities where people overcome challenges, advance through education, and truly thrive.

PNM Power Grant

The 2026 PNM Power Grant is the PNM | TNMP Foundation’s primary community grant opportunity for New Mexico nonprofits. The Power Grant provides flexible, trust‑based funding to organizations whose work strengthens communities and advances one or more of the Foundation’s core pillars: Education, Economic Vitality, and Environment.

The Foundation recognizes that nonprofits are closest to their communities and best positioned to identify local needs. Power Grant funding may be used to support programs, operations, capacity‑building, or community‑identified priorities, as long as the work clearly benefits communities served by PNM.

Grant amounts are determined based on alignment, impact, scale, equity considerations, and available funding.

The Power Grant is a one‑time award (not a multi‑year grant). Organizations proposing pilot or new initiatives should be prepared to describe how their work can continue beyond the grant period.

The Arts Learning in Schools and In Community grant by New Mexico Arts supports arts education for K-12 students in both school and community settings. It invites applications from charter schools, 501(c)(3) private schools, and organizations. This initiative emphasizes creative arts activities, integration into other subjects, and professional development for educators. Eligible organizations can renew applications for subsequent funding cycles, ensuring continued support for impactful arts programs.

New Mexico 501(c)(3) nonprofits supporting early childhood development, youth programs, or community arts can seek funding to advance economic opportunity, housing stability, and vibrant public spaces. Focused on equitable, high-impact support, US Bancorp Foundation prioritizes organizations in its service communities, especially those led by people of color and addressing multiple “work, home, and play” pillars.

The RMEF Grant Program lies at the core of advancing our mission.

RMEF established the program in 1986 to provide financial and logistical support to projects that align with our priorities and goals. Grant funds raised by RMEF members, volunteers and generous donors from across the country translate into significantly more conservation accomplishment when matched with partner funds. The RMEF Grant Program also aims to build recognition for RMEF’s work, grow engagement, and boost local fundraising efforts.

Governed by clear guidelines and criteria, the RMEF Grant Program seeks to foster meaningful collaborations and long-term impacts in the conservation of natural resources and outdoor traditions. Grant project partners include federal, state, local, and tribal wildlife and land management agencies, private landowners and local stakeholders, sportsmen and women, and conservation organizations, universities, foundations and the outdoor industry. Eligible projects primarily focus on habitat stewardship, land conservation and access, wildlife management, and hunting heritage.

We support organizations recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)3 entity, federal, state, local, or tribal government entities, sportsmen’s organizations, or educational institutions. All applicants must have a Federal Employer Identification Number (EIN) issued by the IRS. RMEF does not offer grants to individuals.

Wildlife Management and Research

RMEF funds wildlife management and research to keep big game healthy and thriving, including disease surveillance, big game-friendly fencing, road management, and scientific studies that expand our understanding of big game habitat, movement, interactions, and overall herd health.

RMEF’s 2026 priorities include:

• Research on migration + connectivity, critical habitat + nutrition, big game population trajectories, challenges to big game populations, and big game management solutions
• Big Game-Friendly Fencing

New Mexico Arts offers Creative Support Funding to colleges, universities, and government entities for arts programming. With a two-year funding cycle beginning in FY2026, successful applicants can apply for renewal in FY2027. This funding supports a variety of artistic disciplines, including performing, visual, literary, and media arts, ensuring that programs are accessible to the community at large. Eligible organizations will be notified when the renewal application process opens.

The Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation's Community Engagement program offers sponsorships and community grants aimed at improving health equity for underserved populations in New Mexico. With a commitment to volunteerism and philanthropy, the foundation prioritizes organizations that promote healthy living and cultural belonging. Eligible applicants must be local nonprofits with a current nonprofit status. This initiative reflects a deep-rooted tradition of service and community support, inspired by the foundation's legacy of caring.

CommonSpirit Health offers the Community Health Improvement Grant to enhance health equity and service systems for underserved populations. Through collaborative efforts with 501(c)(3) organizations, this initiative provides financial support for essential health projects. Grant amounts range from $19,500 for small grants to $150,000 for standard grants, varying by hospital. Participating hospitals include those under Catholic Health Initiatives and Dignity Health, aimed at addressing significant community health needs.

The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department (IAD)

The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department (IAD) facilitates communication and collaboration between the Governor’s Office, the other Cabinet agencies, and Indian tribes, nations, pueblos and tribal citizens on programs and issues affecting Native Americans in New Mexico. IAD is uniquely positioned to be a catalyst for state-tribal relations. Originally created in 1953 as the Office of Indian Affairs to assist the state’s Commission on Indian Affairs, IAD is now one of the nation’s few state cabinet-level Indian affairs departments. New Mexico has over 263,315 Native Americans, comprising 12.4% of the state’s entire population.

IAD has statutory authority to:

• Investigate, study, consider and act upon the entire subject of Indian conditions and relations within New Mexico, including problems of health, economy and education and the effect of local, state and federal legislative, executive and judicial actions;
• Assist in setting the policy, and act as the clearinghouse, for all state programs affecting the Indian people of New Mexico. 

Financial Literacy for New Mexico Tribal Citizens & Communities

The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to leverage existing curriculum ensuring it is adaptable for both youth and adults, can be accessed electronically and in-person, and, at a minimum, includes culturally appropriate financial and investor education, addresses personal finance topics such as responsible use of a credit card, saving & savings goals avoiding predatory lenders, understanding banking, car buying tips, safeguarding against identity theft and basic investing skills. Open to non profits, private sectors, institutions, etc.

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Trails+ Grant supports regional projects aimed at enhancing outdoor recreation and community well-being. With funding ranging from $100,000 to $499,999, it encourages projects that promote equitable access to nature and demonstrate economic benefits for the region. Applicants must show a commitment to public access and stewardship of natural landscapes. This grant plays a crucial role in maintaining healthy ecosystems while fostering economic growth and creating jobs for residents and visitors alike.

The Patterson Foundation offers Assistance Dog Program Grants to support organizations providing service animals to veterans and individuals with disabilities. Funding is available for projects that expand capacity, personnel costs related to puppy training, and program support aimed at improving client experiences. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) non-profits and can request grants up to $35,000 for capital projects or $10,000 for program support. Applications are accepted through a two-step process.

The Fred & Jean Allegretti Foundation Grant offers financial assistance to charitable organizations focused on improving the quality of life for children, adults, the elderly, and animals. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) entities that comply with reporting laws and operate in Colorado, Florida, or New Mexico. The foundation seeks proposals that reflect its humanitarian mission, prioritizing dignity and support through education, medical treatment, and the arts.

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico (BCBSNM) is committed to enhancing community health and wellness through sponsorships and grants. Our focus areas include economic stability, nutrition, and optimal health outcomes, targeting local nonprofits to address pressing community needs.
