New York State Department of Labor (NYSDOL) Office of Just Energy Transition (OJET) Growing the Clean Energy Workforce – Electric Vehicles (GCEW-EV)

Description 

The Growing the Clean Energy Workforce – Electric Vehicles (GCEW-EV) Request for Applications (RFA) will provide funding to eligible organizations to expand or create training or pre-apprenticeship programs in EV (light, medium, & heavy-duty) repair and maintenance, EV charging station repair and maintenance, and/or EV fleet maintenance, and provide wraparound services to participants in these programs.

Projects must expand or create training or pre-apprenticeship programs in:

• EV and fleet repair and maintenance; and/or
• EV charging station repair and maintenance.

For this program, there is a minimum requirement that 35% of enrolled program participants must be individuals residing in Disadvantaged Communities (DACs), as defined by the Climate Justice Working Group (CJWG), to be eligible for funding. Applicants will be required to submit the DAC Attestation Form (Attachment DAC) stating that this requirement will be met.

Tuition and other fees may not be charged to the individuals served under this funding opportunity.

AHCJ International Health Study Fellowships

A fellowship for experienced journalists with a focus on international health.

In comparing the U.S. health care system to its global counterparts, journalists traveling to different countries as part of the AHCJ International Fellowship program can produce projects that provide valuable insights that can help inform policy decisions, improve health care outcomes and contribute to the ongoing evolution of health care systems worldwide.

Through the AHCJ International Health Study Fellowships, supported by The Commonwealth Fund, you can pursue a story or project comparing a facet of the U.S. health care system to that of another country. 

For 2027, the focus will be on the U.K. and France in comparison with the U.S. health care system. You’ll pursue the projects with the support of your newsrooms or arranged outlets, which commit to publish or air the work.

This fellowship allows highly experienced journalists to maintain their regular employment while working to evaluate a key component of the health care system, a health outcome, access, performance, providers, efficiency or other focal point over a six-month period.

That period allows for preparatory time, a site visit to the chosen European country, interviews and information gathering, as well as follow-up and writing time. Guidance is provided through seminars, conference calls and consultations with AHCJ fellowship leaders, a mentor and exposure to various topic experts.

The P/Arts Program

The P/Arts Program was created to strengthen connections between the philanthropic, arts, and education communities, fostering meaningful collaborations that enrich learning and inspire growth.

Eligible applicants must be accredited 501(c)(3) organizations that integrate visual and/or performing arts education into their work. Through P/Arts, we seek to support programs that:

The New York State My Brother’s Keeper Exemplary School Models and Practices grant aims to address the achievement gap in New York State, particularly for boys and young men of color. This initiative supports the replication of successful educational practices to ensure early learners are prepared for Kindergarten and reading at grade level by third grade. The program emphasizes sustainable coexistence between humans and wildlife, having awarded over 2,000 grants to more than 500 organizations globally. The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) intends to issue a Broad Pragmatic Studies (BPS) PCORI Funding Announcement (PFA) on Aug. 4, 2026, seeking to fund high-impact, patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects. This preannouncement provides potential applicants additional time to identify collaborators; obtain patient and stakeholder input on potential studies; and develop responsive, high-quality applications. 

Patient-centered CER compares at least two available health treatments, services or care delivery strategies. PCORI seeks proposals that compare clinical interventions (e.g., pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments, screening and diagnostic approaches) and healthcare delivery system interventions (e.g., workforce, technologies, healthcare service delivery designs) to evaluate potential benefits and harms of different treatment and care delivery options, thus generating evidence that empowers patients, caregivers and the broader healthcare community with information to make informed choices that reflect their needs and preferences.

The Pay for Performance Operating Grant Program by Empire State Development aims to support innovative workforce development initiatives in New York State. This grant facilitates funding for new or expanded programs focused on in-demand skills training, allowing applicants to cover various operational costs like curricula development and technology. The program emphasizes sustainable and impactful solutions that foster job creation and economic growth while addressing the needs of local industries and trainees.

The Extension Risk Management Education (ERME) Competitive Grants: Exploratory Projects aim to enhance agricultural producers' economic viability through innovative risk management education. Funded by the University of Delaware, these grants offer up to $10,000 for projects that address emerging risk topics or support producer workshops. With an 18-month duration from April 2026 to September 2027, this initiative encourages the development of new educational approaches to better serve the needs of farmers and ranchers.

The Ethnic Minorities and Women’s Internship Grant supports entry-level athletics administrative positions for one academic year, promoting diversity in NCAA Division II. It provides $30,000 for intern salaries and $3,000 for professional development, benefiting six schools annually from a total budget of $180,000. Eligible applicants must be active NCAA members, with a focus on enhancing ethnic minority and gender representation in athletics administration. This initiative encourages professional growth and compliance in diverse environments.

The Edward & Ellen Roche Relief Foundation Grants support nonprofits that assist disadvantaged women and children in New York City. Established in 1953, the foundation prioritizes funding for programs that promote the well-being and self-sufficiency of low-income women and their families, particularly those that focus on job training and placement for unemployed or underemployed women. This targeted approach aims to empower vulnerable populations and foster economic independence.

The Westchester Youth Civic Engagement Grants aim to empower young people (up to age 24) to actively participate in civic life.
