Colleen Callahan Professional Development Award

Members are invited to apply for the Professional Development Grant offered by Southeastern Region of the Costume Society of America. Awards will be made at a minimum of $250 with the total award not to exceed $1000. Your project may be on any aspect of costume, any technical skill, or any administrative expertise which will further the mission and purposes of the Costume Society of America. The grant money may be applied to research, a course, workshop fees, or travel.

Jim Liles Student Award

 The Jim Liles Student Award is intended to assist students who want to make presentations at a CSA Southeastern Region symposium. These presentations may be on any costume-related topic. The work should be well researched and may or may not be thesis, dissertation, course research project, independent study research, or senior project related. Up to TWO students whose papers are accepted will receive up to $1,000 each to cover travel and other related expenses. The Registration fee will be waived for all student presenters, regardless of whether they receive this award.

The ASP Conservation Small Grants program is dedicated to supporting primate conservation efforts. It invites proposals for conservation research or related projects, including education, with awards up to $3500. This initiative encourages ASP members, especially those in habitat countries, to submit impactful projects that contribute to broader conservation goals. The program emphasizes funding for local salaries, research supplies, and educational materials, ensuring the sustainability of primate conservation efforts.

The LFF: Nature-Based Climate Action Grant aims to support initiatives that leverage natural systems to combat climate change. By funding projects focused on tree planting, prairie restoration, and carbon sequestration, the program seeks to engage communities and enhance understanding of climate challenges. Ideal applicants include rural organizations working to create measurable environmental impacts while fostering collaboration and policy change. This grant represents an opportunity for organizations ready to take significant strides in addressing the climate crisis.

The Virginia H. Glasson Charitable Trust Grant supports Christian charitable organizations and preferred beneficiaries. It funds projects in areas such as education, scientific research, religious activities, and arts and culture. Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS tax code, located in states such as California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, North Carolina, and Washington D.C. However, individuals cannot apply for funding.

The North Carolina Civil Money Penalty Funds program, managed by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, provides financial assistance aimed at enhancing the quality of care in nursing homes. These funds, derived from monetary penalties imposed on non-compliant facilities, support initiatives such as resident relocation, training for staff, and improvements in facility quality. Eligible organizations include advocacy groups, nursing home associations, and academic institutions, all dedicated to promoting better care and quality of life for residents.

The Carolina Youth Power Fund, a project of the Carolina Youth Partnership, offers grants of $500-$1,000 to support organizing projects led by youth aged 13-25 in North Carolina. Focused on empowering underrepresented groups, including Black, Muslim, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ youth, the fund prioritizes projects that engage young people in civic issues and community organizing, fostering leadership and skills development for sustainable change.

The Exhibitions Abroad Support Grant Program, initiated by the Japan Foundation in New York, offers financial aid to U.S. museums and art institutions organizing exhibitions that showcase Japanese art and culture internationally. Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations from designated states, with a focus on promoting cultural exchange and understanding through art.

NC Supportive Housing Development Program (SHDP)

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency offers several programs to help nonprofit organizations and local government entities build and rehabilitate emergency, transitional, and permanent housing for people who are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness, have disabilities or other special needs.

The Supportive Housing Development Program (SHDP) aims to increase the supply of emergency, transitional and permanent supportive housing for special populations and low-income households.

Supportive Housing Development Program-Integrated (SHDP-Integrated)

New for the 2026 cycle, SHDP-Integrated financing is available for acquisition, rehabilitation, and/or new construction of permanent rental housing serving people with disabilities in an integrated setting.

The housing must serve households who earn below 50% of area median income. Rent and utilities cannot exceed 30% of the gross household income. 

The Cody Blue Pilkington Scholarship Fund honors a gifted student dedicated to education and community service. Available to North Carolina residents entering their Freshman or Sophomore year at NC State University pursuing engineering, science, or math, applicants must maintain a 2.8 GPA, be at least 18 years old, and participate in community service. This scholarship supports the legacy of Cody Pilkington, who tragically lost his life while studying engineering.
