Apply for a Hunger Mountain Cooperative Community Fund Grant

Hunger Mountain Co-op wants everyone to feel welcome, and we strive to be an inclusive and anti-racist community.

This year, we will consider requests for grants of $250 to $3,000 and will only fund projects that are designed to support local food systems, food access, and projects that address inequities in the local food system. For our purposes, the local food system includes farmers, producers, food shelves, and organizations working to make food accessible to our community. Your application will be reviewed by the HMCCF Committee and the Co-op’s Council. Scoring criteria is at the bottom of the application. Grants will be announced at our Annual Meeting in September. Submission deadline: Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

By submitting this application, if approved, you give permission to announce the grant award through area media sources and use your organization as a recipient of a HMCCF Grant in promotional material.

Scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors. Applications are accepted from mid-November until mid-March. Scholarship award recipients will be announced at the high school awards ceremony. 

Mariano and Maria Lampazzi Fiaschi Memorial Scholarship

Established by Colonel Peter Fiaschi in memory of his parents, this scholarship is awarded to a graduating student from Susquehanna Community School District who intends to pursue a major in healthcare. The scholarship provides financial support for up to four years of college, contingent upon the recipient maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 and remaining in good standing within an accredited healthcare program.

It began with a gift of $1.1 million from the Dr. Thomas Walker Memorial Health Foundation as “seed” money for this Raleigh County project. Since its inception, BAF has distributed over $23 million to charities and other worthy projects in the fields of education, public recreation, health & human services, the arts, animal services and beautification.

Scholarships

The Beckley Area Foundation proudly manages scholarship funds established by individuals, businesses, and organizations dedicated to helping students pursue higher education. Many of these scholarships are tailored for specific schools, fields of study, or graduates from local high schools, while others offer broader opportunities. Ross C. Todd Scholarship

Merit based award open to West Virginia blind students. Both graduating high school seniors and college upperclassmen, which at the time of application have achieved and maintained a 3.0 grade point average or better, are eligible to apply; All other considerations being equal, the two recipients having attained and maintained the highest grade point average within the applicant pool shall be named as recipients; West Virginia residents who are matriculating seniors or students already enrolled in a college/university.

This scholarship is renewable.

Weighted for educational merit, personal achievement and financial need; West Virginia high school matriculating senior with a confirmed diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis. Recipient will provide physician’s letter affirming a diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis as part of the application process; The scholarship is to be awarded for post-secondary education through college, vocational or technical schools.

WWHS Class of 1952 – Jo Lee Daniels Scholarship

The Jo Lee Daniels Scholarship is to be awarded to an individual demonstrating the qualities of a “Jo Lee like personality” exemplified in a poetic reflection about her. This includes such characteristics as intelligence, unquestionable integrity, a leader of other students, remarkable wit and sense of humor, hospitable nature, sympathy for others, patience with trying people and situations, a strong work ethic, warm heartedness, and FRIENDLY. The recipient may be male or female.
