Witness to Win, Inc. is a product of the Mathena family’s deep commitment to honoring God and God’s mission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20. These legacy values of giving and sharing were not only taught but were caught by the Mathena children. Many times, foundations are created to honor people and their legacy; however, Gary, Teresa, David, Melissa and John’s desire is to glorify the person of Jesus Christ and make Him known to all peoples. Therefore, the Mathena children unanimously decided to create the Witness to Win Foundation in 2017.

Over the past 10 years, the Mathena Family has given over $80M through their tithes and offerings to their local churches and to charitable organizations whose sole purpose is to share the love and message of Jesus Christ. 

Witness to Win Grant Program

To encourage and support charitable 501(c)(3) organizations who have as among their primary purpose to share and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ to the nations. These organizations will directly fulfill this purpose through Christian religious education and qualified Christian ministries. These charitable organizations must all be headquartered in the United States and must adhere to Christian, moral, and conservative standards of belief and conduct as specified in our Statements of Belief.

The Exploring Christian Practices Initiative by Lilly Endowment aims to enhance access to settings that enable diverse individuals to engage in Christian practices. This initiative seeks to address spiritual interests, foster community connections, and support the growth of faith. By multiplying opportunities for exploration, it encourages meaningful participation in religious life and nurtures a deeper understanding of Christian traditions.

Mission

The Fish Family Foundation of Maine is a faith based charitable organization located in Bangor, Maine. Founded in 2007, our mission is to provide resources for many initiatives including, but not limited to, missions, education scholarships, ministries, medical research, and employment creation. The Fish Family Foundation of Maine is primarily funded by the family. However, contributions from like minded individuals and organizations is appreciated. The Fish Family Foundation of Maine has a balanced strategy of making funds available for immediate needs, while also investing to build a perpetual earning endowment ensuring the Foundation's successful future.

Missions:

We support needs of missionary organizations including sponsorships for young people who wish to attend youth group sponsored mission trips. We ordinarily make one time contributions but on occasion have made up to a three year commitment. 

Education/Scholarships:

The Foundation makes scholarships available to Colleges, Universities, and other Schools for student enrollment and expenses. We also consider new construction, existing renovation, equipment, and support material contributions.

Independent Churches and Ministries:

We accept a wide variety of requests, including, but not limited to: materials, equipment, new construction, renovations, programs, and services. 

Medical Research:

We support medical research opportunities close to our hearts and organizations that our family and friends have experienced. 

Job Creation:

We Support organizations that fund entrepreneurs in impoverished areas to start small businesses providing services and employment to the community.

Requests are considered by the trustees the first week of each month. Foundation payments are made by paper check in US dollars and are reported to the appropriate tax agencies. While we certainly wish that we could contribute to all the applications that meet our funding criteria, there are times when when available funding is limited and we are not able to contribute to some very worthy causes. If we are not in a position to help in the timeline requested, we will keep the information on file for possible consideration in the future. 

The Jandy Ammons Foundation provides Florida Christian organizations and churches with capital funding for innovative, shovel-ready projects. 501(c)(3) public charities can seek support for standalone efforts such as church mission projects, educational initiatives, artistic installations, wildlife or conservation work, and enhancements to park settings or community areas that improve local communities.

Christian 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Florida launching new programs at the intersection of poverty, violence, and inequality may be eligible for leadership and program support, including capital expenses. With a mission to invest in emerging leaders, We Raise Foundation provides US $15,000 over two years for innovative, community-rooted initiatives and leader development in the U.S.

The Pittsburgh Foundation provides scholarship opportunities for students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four–year universities, graduate schools, and career/technical schools.

Kenneth P. Rutter (Rotary) Scholarship Fund

The Kenneth P. Rutter Scholarship Fund was established at The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County to award a scholarship to a traditional or non-traditional applicant residing in Westmoreland County, who has achieved a high school diploma or equivalent including a GED or Home School certificate. Preference will be given to students who seek to enter the Christian Ministry, and/or who have exhibited a strong interest in Community Service and Humanitarian Service.

William C. and Anna Rose Chamberlain Memorial

The fund was established in 1926 "for the propagation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ," to be used to educate those interested in the ministry; or as a missionary; or ordained professional minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); or for some definite religious work in connection with the church. Priority is given to members or former members of Gender Road Christian Church (formerly known as Southeast Christian Church).

Homeschooled high school seniors pursuing two- or four-year degrees who live in a Shelby County, Ohio school district can receive college scholarship support, with preference for Christian-affiliated colleges. With a mission to inspire donor generosity, the Community Foundation of Shelby County offers one US $1,000 Schmiesing Homeschool Scholarship that may benefit Christian students similar to those in Florida churches.

Christian students and adults pursuing vocational or trade education can receive US $2,000 scholarships from the Community Foundation of Shelby County, including those connected to churches in Florida. This award supports enrollment in accredited adult education programs, trade schools, or Associate’s degree programs, with preference for HVAC, plumbing, or electrical career paths.

Local churches can receive up to US $500 to strengthen stewardship, upgrade ministry technology, or support leadership development, including congregations in Florida that are part of the Kentucky Conference. Grants from the Kentucky Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church back projects that cultivate generosity, improve AV tools for worship and administration, and equip church leaders.

Florida Christian students pursuing post-secondary education can access funding through The Community Foundation for a Greater Richmond, with awards up to US $4,500. Scholarships support graduates of Central Virginia high schools who demonstrate Christian values, financial need, community commitment, and academic achievement, and who remain in good standing at accredited U.S. colleges, universities, community colleges, or trade schools.

Florida Christian ministries and 501(c)(3) organizations serving first responders, military, police, firefighters, disaster relief, prisons, healthcare facilities, children, and at-risk populations can access funding through 1687 Foundation’s Book Ministry for Christian books and resources. Churches and faith-based nonprofits may be eligible if they operate these kinds of established outreach programs.

Florida 501(c)(3) churches and Christian ministries seeking support for religious, charitable, or educational programs may be eligible for funding that promotes the Christian faith. The Bolick Foundation supports Christianity-focused work across the U.S., including program-related activities and, in limited cases, capital improvements for organizations advancing Christian beliefs.

Churches and Christian 501(c)(3) organizations in Florida and beyond can seek funding for programs in international development, community development, education access, and Latter-day Saints initiatives. Rolland and Dorothea Face Family Christian Ministry College Scholarship

Scholarships awarded to students who have received Jesus Christ as his/her Savior and are in good standing as a member of a local Christian church. Applicants must be pursuing a career as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or other full time ministry and show proof of enrollment to the following Christian colleges:
