Gerstbrein/McCanna Scholarship for the Arts

After a long and rewarding career in Landscape Design and Art Education, Lisa Gerstbrein/McCanna wanted to promote the Arts and Industrial Arts in the community where she made her home and her livelihood. Her career brought her tremendous joy in pursuits that she loved as well as the satisfying reward of helping students find inspiration in the worlds of Art and Industrial Art. She is a true believer in the concept of STEAM based education. Accordingly, she established a fund to provide scholarships for the advanced education of advancing Senior High School Students in these areas who are residents of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania and are pursuing higher education in an approved program within 300 miles of their respective school - Armstrong High School, West Shamokin High School or Lenape Technical School.

Purpose

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is accepting applications for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (Byrne/JAG) Program for Juvenile Detention Centers. This grant program supports local and regional juvenile detention centers through funding training, equipment, and supplies. Byrne/JAG funds allow states and units of local government, including tribes, to support a broad range of crime control and prevention activities based on state and local needs and conditions. As the state administrative agency, DCJS is responsible for managing the coordination and distribution of Byrne/JAG funds in a manner that supports and improves the criminal justice system in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Pisgah Chapter of Trout Unlimited William L. Arbuckle Memorial Scholarship

Recipients of this award must be accepted to an accredited degree granting college or university within the Southern Appalachian Region. Recipients must be pursuing an undergraduate and/or graduate degree in the field of fisheries, aquaculture, freshwater biology, or other related fields. 

The VCA Operating Support Small grant aims to support small arts organizations in Virginia with annual cash income between $5,000 and $150,000. This funding helps enhance their artistic and operational excellence while fostering community engagement. Eligible applicants must meet specific criteria, including being exempt from federal income tax and having completed two years of programming. Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) Grant Program for Prosecution and Discretionary Projects

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce two funding opportunities for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 27 under the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) grant program! The funding opportunities are open to current SFY 26 prosecution, discretionary, forensic/sexual assault nurse examiner VSDVVF subrecipients, as well as new competitive forensic/sexual assault nurse examiner applicants. Prior to completing your application, please review the grant guidelines associated with your funding category. 

The Dominion Energy Educational Equity Scholarship Program aims to support students from specific states pursuing higher education. With awards of $5,000 for 2-year programs and $10,000 for 4-year degrees, this program emphasizes both need and merit in its selection process. Administered by Scholarship America®, it is open to high school seniors and undergraduates maintaining a GPA of 3.0. Awards may be renewed for up to three years or until a bachelor's degree is obtained.

Kovar Corporation Grants support nonprofit organizations in Virginia aiming to enhance the lives of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Established in 1971 by the Virginia Knights of Columbus, KOVAR provides financial assistance for housing, transportation, job training, and sports participation. With over $19 million raised, grants can reach up to $20,000, with a limit of one grant within an 18-month period. Applications must be submitted before the first of the month preceding a board meeting for review.

Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) Grant Program for Forensic/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Projects

The Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS) is pleased to announce two funding opportunities for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 27 under the Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Victim Fund (VSDVVF) grant program! The funding opportunities are open to current SFY 26 prosecution, discretionary, forensic/sexual assault nurse examiner VSDVVF subrecipients, as well as new competitive forensic/sexual assault nurse examiner applicants.

In accordance with Code of Virginia § 9.1-116.1, this grant program has three purpose areas:

• Make funds available to local attorneys for the Commonwealth for the purpose of funding the cost of additional attorneys or to further dedicate existing resources to prosecute felonies and misdemeanors involving domestic violence, sexual violence, sexual abuse, stalking, and family abuse;
• Make funds available to law-enforcement authorities or appropriate programs, including civil legal assistance, to assist in protecting and providing necessary services to victims of and children affected by domestic violence, sexual abuse, stalking, and family abuse; and
• Make funds available to sexual assault service providers and hospitals for the purpose of funding the cost of salaries and equipment for sexual assault forensic examiners, sexual assault nurse examiners, and pediatric sexual assault nurse examiners, with priority for funding such costs given to such forensic examiners and nurse examiners serving rural or underserved areas of the Commonwealth.

For this funding opportunity, grants will be awarded to applicants for purpose area three (3) only.

Allowable Costs

Current SFY 2026 VSDVVF forensic/sexual assault nurse examiner grantees are eligible to apply for funding amounts not to exceed the maximum award amounts listed in Attachment A. New competitive sexual assault service providers and hospitals are eligible to apply to for up to $95,000 for the one-year award period.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to request only the minimum number of staff necessary to implement programs. To promote the retention of qualified project staff, applicants are encouraged to request competitive salaries. The requested compensation level should be further documented by comparison of the scope and complexity of work performed to other similar positions receiving similar pay.

The CRSI Foundation offers an Undergraduate Scholarship Program designed for senior-level students majoring in Civil or Architectural Engineering. This program includes five regional scholarships and six named scholarships, awarded through the CRSI network. Eligible candidates must be pursuing their Bachelor’s Degrees and demonstrate a commitment to the steel reinforced concrete industry. The scholarships aim to support students who are focused on careers in structural engineering.

The National Sea Grant Law Center is inviting proposals for the Coastal Resilience Program to research laws and policies addressing coastal resilience challenges such as sea level rise and flooding. With a funding cap of $150,000 over two years, this initiative aims to assess the effectiveness of existing policies and promote informed decision-making in coastal management. Up to two projects will be selected for funding, supporting innovative solutions to enhance community resilience against environmental threats.
