PLTW Gateway

New Program

The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County is dedicated to enhancing educational experiences through the Arts in Education Grants. These grants support the integration of arts into school curricula for Pre-K to grade 12. Open to public and nonprofit-private schools, the program encourages creativity and cultural enrichment. Schools may apply for up to two grants annually, with a focus on Title I schools. The initiative fosters collaboration among students, teachers, and artists to create vibrant learning environments.

The Arts Council of Anne Arundel County offers Community Arts Grants to support nonprofit arts organizations in providing enriching programming to county residents. This key funding initiative aims to promote diversity, equity, and accessibility in the arts. Organizations can apply for grants based on their budget size, with funding tiers designed to foster excellence and broaden opportunities in the local arts community. Eligible applicants must demonstrate a commitment to serving the community and maintaining good fiscal practices.

The Anne Arundel County Forestry and Forested Land Protection Grant Program, in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Trust, aims to fund forestry projects and land protection initiatives in Anne Arundel County. This initiative supports grants for schools starting or expanding PLTW programs beginning in the 2025-2026 academic year. Eligible public and charter schools in specified counties can apply for a total of $30,000, distributed over two years. The grant aims to enhance engineering education and promote innovative learning experiences for students.

The Hamer Foundation

Our Mission:

The mission of The Hamer Foundation is to provide support to nonprofit organizations within a 100-mile radius of State College PA in the following areas: 

• Environmental Support – 50% of donations 
• Community Support – 35% of donations 
• Educational Support – 15% of donations 

L3Harris Technologies is collaborating with Project Lead The Way (PLTW) to expand STEM education for PreK-12 students. This initiative aims to inspire young learners through enhanced PLTW programs starting in the 2025-2026 academic year. Eligible schools, including public and charter institutions in specified counties, can receive grants of $5,000 to support program expansion. The focus is on providing resources for new modules, teacher training, and ensuring access for diverse and economically challenged communities.

The Grit Fund provides up to $10,000 in funding for collaborative, artist-led projects, fostering community connections through visual arts in Baltimore. Emphasizing accessibility, the fund supports a variety of initiatives including exhibitions, public events, and installations. Eligible artists must be independent and based in Baltimore City or County, ensuring projects are open to the public. This initiative aims to empower artists and cultural organizers to make an impactful contribution to their communities.

The Anne Arundel County Community Tree Planting Mini Grant Program, a collaboration between the Anne Arundel County Forestry Board, City of Annapolis, and Chesapeake Bay Trust, provides grants up to $5,000 for community tree planting and invasive species removal. This initiative aims to enhance tree canopy and promote environmental stewardship across neighborhoods and parks in Anne Arundel County. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until funding is exhausted, ensuring support for local projects that improve air quality and watershed health.
