The mission of the Jean Griswold Foundation is to support Caregivers by providing educational scholarships* to enable them to further their training, enhance their careers, and better assist the clients they serve.

By offering educational scholarships*, our Foundation will not only make a positive impact on the Caregivers themselves, but also the clients they assist and the home healthcare agencies where they are employed, as well as help advance the overarching home-care industry.

Scholarships will be paid directly to the federally accredited educational institutions of the winning Scholars’ choosing.

Empowering Caregivers Through Education

The Jean Griswold Foundation Scholarship Program awards scholarships to deserving Caregivers who wish to further their education in a care-related field. Applicants do not have to be associated with Griswold in any way, and the funds will be paid directly to the institution where the caregiver will be receiving education.

With funding ranging from $1,000 to $10,000, the grant supports organizations focused on safety, education, environmental stewardship, and Indigenous culture. Enbridge encourages early applications, with decisions typically made within eight weeks. The grant seeks to empower local initiatives that foster community strength, vibrancy, and sustainability.

The New York-New Jersey Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) is inviting proposals for habitat restoration projects that support wildlife in the Hudson-Raritan Estuary. With $250,000 available, HEP aims to distribute funding through two to four grants for projects lasting one or two years. These initiatives are crucial for enhancing local ecosystems and engaging communities in conservation efforts, as outlined in the Comprehensive Restoration Plan.

Women United in Philanthropy

The members of Women United in Philanthropy (WUIP) vote each year to award one large impact grant to an agency proposing an innovative solution to problems facing women in Bergen County, New Jersey. Typically, WUIP grants range from $40,000 to $80,000.

Applications must address one of the following challenges facing women in Bergen County:

• Lack of access to affordable health care and wellness programs for herself and her children
• Shortage of safe affordable housing
• Inability to earn a living wage (need for job training and placement)
• Shortage of affordable day care options
• Food insecurity
• Nowhere to turn in times of expected personal or financial crisis

To Apply, first fill out our Letter of Inquiry form. You’ll have the opportunity to submit an initial application to us in December. If invited to submit a full application, they will be due in early March. WUIP members gather each spring to vote and select a grant awardee and funds are available as early as July 1 each year.

The TD Bank Community Sponsorships Program, supported by the TD Charitable Foundation, provides funding for events and activities that positively impact communities from Maine to Florida. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness and foster partnerships among diverse groups, promoting economic development, cultural enrichment, and social responsibility. Organizations can apply for funding to support community-oriented programs, with applications reviewed quarterly. It's essential to submit applications at least 90 days before the event deadlines.

The John and Margaret Post Foundation Grant supports charitable organizations that enhance the quality of life for families in northwest New Jersey and northeast Pennsylvania. Focused on arts, education, environment, health, and human services, the foundation prioritizes grants for capital needs and specific programs. This initiative seeks to increase access and participation in high-quality STEM learning experiences, ultimately preparing students for future careers.

Eligible schools must be located in specific counties and serve a majority of students from low-income backgrounds. This initiative supports the growth of STEM education, fostering a brighter future for communities through enhanced learning opportunities.

The purpose of Activity 5.3c- Rural Pharmacy Medication Management Therapy Program is to improve health outcomes in rural communities through Medication Therapy Management (MTM), tobacco cessation services, and chronic disease prevention and management that are not covered by medical insurance. This program aims to address medication adherence/polypharmacy and tobacco use for people with or at risk for chronic conditions, delay disease progression, and support overall well-being, with a particular focus on uninsured and underinsured populations. Programs should address chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and hyperlipidemia, in addition to addressing related risk factors such as tobacco product use. Funding is intended to support community-based approaches that increase access to disease management tools and services, strengthen patient engagement, and foster healthier communities.

The Rural Health Screening and Education program will increase access to chronic disease screening and education for rural residents and expand awareness of chronic disease risk factors and their health impacts. The Rural Health Screening and Education Program aims to improve chronic disease outcomes among rural residents by providing walk-in and scheduled screenings, transportation, insurance enrollment, SDOH referrals, follow-up care coordination, and enrollment in evidence-based education programs to manage chronic conditions.

Goal: Enhance and expand early detection, prevention, and management of chronic diseases through coordinated screening and education initiatives encouraging proactive engagement in preventive care, healthier behaviors, and improvement in long-term health outcomes among residents
